Opis:: The aim of the article is to present selected aspects of the activities of the Polish legation in Sofia in the years 1930-1941, based on the analysis of documents contained in the "Polish Diplomatic Documents" series. These sources indicate the intentions and main directions of activities of the Polish diplomatic mission in the political field. Due to the fact that the selection of Polish diplomatic documents included in the series was based on the criterion of importance, the analysis will also show the significance of the diplomatic mission in Sofia in Polish foreign policy of the period examined.

Opis:: The article shows the position that the Diplomatic Protocol still plays an important role in politics and diplomacy. It affects relations between countries, it is a sign of respect and good intentions. The protocol teaches manners and is a sign of intelligence. Behavior at the table and in contact with other important people reflects the rank and attitude of one country to another. It is necessary to determine which aspects must remain constant and which must evolve in accordance with the development of the world. Tracking changes and trends in human behavior and relations between them is obligatory in order to skillfully combine tradition with modernity.

Opis:: The aim of the article is to analyse three 16th and 17th centuries Polish diplomatic manuals written by Krzysztof Warszewicki, Ławryn Piaseczyński and Stanisław Miński dealing with the dilemma ‘the will of the ruler or the common good’, also known as ‘the prince or peace’ dilemma. This problem highlights the tension between the two opposing concepts of political order in early modern Europe: absolutist and republican. The article focuses on the attitude of the aforementioned authors towards the role of the monarch and the community of the republic, as well as the relationship between the monarch and the ambassadors.

Opis:: The purpose of the article is to comprehend the essence of the concept of “diplomatic archive” and to review documents, which were created in the activities of Polish diplomatic and consular institutions and/or are related to the development of Polish-Ukrainian interstate relations, preserved in state archives in Ukraine. The research methodology is based on the principles of historicism, determinism, and special scientific methods of scientific heuristics, information analysis, and source criticism. The scientific novelty of the study is determined by a comprehensive analysis of the composition and content of the Polish segment in “the Ukrainian diplomatic archive” – documents generated in the activities of Polish diplomatic missions and consulates in UNR/UkrSSR and materials on surveillance of Polish diplomats in the UkrSSR during 1918–1991. Conclusions. The Polish segment in the Ukrainian diplomatic archive is not a complete set. These are documents related to contacts of the Polish mission with the authorities and institutions of the host country: drafts and texts of treaties and conventions; authorization documents of the heads of Polish diplomatic missions and consulates; official correspondence of the highest state level; documents generated in the course of activities of Polish diplomatic missions and consulates in the host country; documents related to the implementation of consular functions; audiovisual documents; materials of special services’ supervision and materials of party control over the activities of Polish diplomatic missions and consulates. It seems important to create a common archival and information base on the composition and content of Polish and Ukrainian diplomatic archives.
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie najważniejszych założeń idei „archiwum dyplomatycznego” oraz dokonanie przeglądu dokumentów, przechowywanych w archiwach państwowych Ukrainy, które pochodzą z polskich placówek dyplomatycznych i konsularnych i dotyczą polsko-ukraińskich relacji międzypaństwowych. W badaniu zastosowano podejście historyczne oraz metody heurystyki naukowej, analizy informacji i krytyki źródłowej. W artykule po raz pierwszy podjęto wszechstronną ocenę zawartości i treści dokumentów wchodzących w skład Archiwum Dyplomacji Ukrainy, wytworzonych przez polskie placówki działające w URL i USRR, a także materiały służb USRR z lat 1918–1991, dotyczące polskich dyplomatów. W podsumowaniu zwrócono uwagę, że polska część Archiwum Dyplomacji Ukrainy nie jest kompletna. Stanowią ją dokumenty dotyczące kontaktów placówek polskich z władzami i instytucjami kraju gospodarza: projekty i teksty traktatów i konwencji; dokumentacja listów uwierzytelniających, składanych przez kierowników polskich placówek dyplomatycznych i konsulatów, oficjalna korespondencja na szczeblu naczelnych władz obu państw, dokumentacja wytworzona przez polskie placówki dyplomatyczne i konsulaty w kraju gospodarza, materiały związane z wykonywaniem funkcji konsularnych, dokumentacja audiowizualna, materiały służb specjalnych i organów partyjnych dotyczące działalności polskich placówek dyplomatycznych i konsularnych. Autorka zwraca uwagę na potrzebę opracowania wspólnych pomocy informacyjnych, obejmujących polskie i ukraińskie archiwa dyplomatyczne.

Opis:: Thesis concerns the topic of contemporary diplomatic correspondence. The main concern of the thesis are forms, specific style of writing and rules concerning diplomatic correspondence. Attention was focused on analysis of ceremonial acts, different types of diplomatic notes, private and semi-official acts and occasional correspondence. The study of diplomatic correspondence involves forms, style of writing and contemporary practice of deliverance. The thesis includes examples of diplomatic acts that were taken from diplomatic practice. Author highlights the changes in the process of creating and delivering diplomatic correspondence that happened over the past decades. Author also makes remarks regarding significant influence that social transformations, the inception of new technologies and contemporary means of communications have on the form of diplomatic correspondence.
Praca podejmuje tematykę współczesnej korespondencji dyplomatycznej. Jej celem jest przedstawienie form, szczególnego stylu redagowania oraz zasad komunikacji używanych w korespondencji dyplomatycznej. Analizie podlegają pisma ceremonialne, różne rodzaje not dyplomatycznych, pisma prywatne i półoficjalne oraz korespondencja okazjonalna. Opis poszczególnych rodzajów korespondencji dyplomatycznej uwzględnia ich formę, sposób redakcji oraz praktykę w zakresie ich doręczania. W pracy zawarte zostały również pochodzące z praktyki przykłady pism dyplomatycznych.Szczególny akcent został położony na zmiany w procesie tworzenia i wymiany aktów dyplomatycznych w okresie ostatnich dziesięcioleci. Uwzględnione zostało oddziaływanie, jakie na kształt korespondencji dyplomatycznej mają przemiany społeczne oraz powstanie nowoczesnych środków komunikacji i technologii informatycznych.

Opis:: In this work it characterizes and analyzes the current rules of social behavior of international business and diplomatic protocol. Here are analyzed and resolved errors that entrepreneurs and experts often do. In this work we show different varieties of the rules of social intercourse, behavior in different cultures of the parts of diplomatic protocol in the current diplomatic practice. Rights and responsibilities international organizations in the sphere and compe- tences of the international negotiations, concluded between interested parties. Innovation in relations between the gov- ernments and international organizations has led to the emergence of sporadic situ- ations, allowing for the adoption of internationally-privileged mechanisms. Sportive situations may be the cause of serious harm to international organizations, such as the international organization of citizenship and legal entities, which are not covered by the convention.

Opis:: Considerations devoted to postmodern diplomacy should be preceded by reflection on the phenomenon of postmodernity, because everything, what it expresses, creates some kind of depth of causative powers of changes, which affect diplomacy, traditionally connected with state, its foreign policy, raison d’état, reasons and interests, to realisation of which it should serve. The diplomat’s mandate is still a mandate coming from state, which they represent and on behalf of which they act. Opis:: Objective of the article is to present Chinese concept of cyberdiplomacy which refers to globval trend in foreign affairs to use model of new public diplomacy as modern approach in international relations. The Chinese government, observing a significant increase in the number of network, Internet users and analyzing the bene& ts which has been achieved by Western countries, activated its actions and strategies in the cyber environment in order to promote domestic and foreign policies. Due to the progressive modernization of the country and the desire to alter its international image, the importance of new tools acquired in the field of soft power focusing on the attractiveness of the state in order to achieve its political objectives connected with concept of „China’s peaceful rise”. Their cyberdiplomacy strategy involves the use of the Internet, social media, portals to integrate a wide international audience. However China faces many challenges to create effective cyberdiplomacy and widely used censorship and propaganda are the biggest obstacle in this matter.
