Opis:
Modern trends in the education development require directing efforts to the development of distance learning in the Ukrainian Armed Forces as one of the effective tools for implementing the model of continuous training. The article is devoted to highlighting the problematic issues of formation the distance learning system of the professional military education institution. There are analyzed the main subsystems of the distance learning system of the professional military education institution, which determine the architecture of the system and its intended purpose. The analysis of the distance learning systems formation made it possible to determine the central objectives of certain types of the distance learning system providing and factors that negatively affect the distance learning system formation. An overview of the problematic issues of the distance learning system formation regarding a professional military education institution shows that it is necessary to approach the formation of a distance learning system differently, taking into account the existing limitations.

Opis:
The paper deals with using Edmodo (an educational social network) and Google Meet as distance learning tool and platform in teaching English within university English courses during the first and second waves of COVID-19 in Slovakia. It draws the basic difference between online learning and distance learning, as well as between asynchronous and synchronous distance learning. It briefly introduces Edmodo’s and Google Meet’s main features that can be utilised in the process of distance learning of university students. It presents the results of the research that was conducted with the students of Faculty of Mass Media Communication of UCM in Trnava, who participated in English courses conducted by the means of asynchronous and synchronous distance learning during the summer term of the academic year 2019/20 and the winter term of 2020/21, i. e. during both waves of the COVID-19 pandemic. Via the quantitative method of a questionnaire survey, the research participants provided feedback on both asynchronous distance learning (with Edmodo) and synchronous distance learning (combining Google Meet with Edmodo). The findings present students’ perception of the educational platform and the videoconferencing tool pointing to their benefits, weaknesses and overall effectiveness as communication platforms within both forms of distance learning, asynchronous and synchronous. The paper draws comparison of the two methods and assumes conclusions regarding their effectiveness in distance learning of English.

Opis:
Distance learning and self-education have been an actual trend for many years but during the pandemic, it became critically relevant and important. The closure of schools and higher education institutions around the world had a negative impact on the educational sector in many countries in general and has affected almost every student and educator. This paper examines Ukrainian educators’ level of knowledge and skills in using modern distance learning tools and trends and the way of improving the teaching-learning process during the conditions of the 2020 pandemic. The authors present their review of educational trends under the condi - tions of distance, online and blended learning. They also examine the Ukrainian educators’ level of knowledge and skills in using modern distance learning tools and trends. For this purpose, the authors have elaborated and implemented a lo - cal survey for a Ukrainian university teaching staff (target group) who need to use distance learning tools in their research and professional activity during the quarantine. The authors also present the ways of improving the learning process via distance learning tools.

The problems of representation and learning material in distance learning are successfully solved, but development of professional skills is a problem, that requires a solution, especially for teaching natural sciences such as Chemistry. The article deals with issues related to the organization and implementation of laboratory chemical experiments via distance learning. This paper covers a classification of virtual chemical laboratory. The author proposes to use free ware program Virtual Chemistry Laboratory teaching Chemistry. Distance learning has the advantages that this program can be installed on a local computer and on-line. Moreover the local version and on-line version of this software can be presented in different languages. The paper gives examples of laboratory work. The author studies the creation of new laboratory work in chemistry using this program.
