Opis:
The paper is an attempt to determine the condition of ecological awareness – pro-environmental attitudes of students from Poland and Slovakia, as well as correlation between the pro-environmental attitude declared by the youth and their place of residence. Apart from willingness to get to know beliefs, opinions and the condition of knowledge in many particular issues re-lated to the subject, the paper has the following purposes: to learn dependence between personal features of people and the condition of their ecological awareness, to determine the degree of consistency of beliefs in different matters relating to the examined problems, to compare the force of interaction of particular sources of information on particular population categories.

Opis:
Research background: A rapidly developing e-commerce market and growing customer expectations regarding the speed and frequency of deliveries have made the last mile of the supply chain more challenging. The expectations of e-customers increase every year. They choose those companies that deliver goods faster and cheaper than others. A significant group of customers in Poland still selects home delivery. Many of them frequently return products to the retailer. These expectations and behaviour pose a challenge for the transport companies to deliver parcels to individual customers soon after the purchase, sometimes even on the same day. In addition, increasingly frequent deliveries contribute to environmental pollution, congestion, and accidents, as well as more expensive deliveries. Purpose of the article: The paper aims to identify e-customers' preferences and assess their impact on sustainable last-mile delivery (LMD) in the e-commerce market. The authors have also identified factors influencing e-customers' behaviour to make last-mile delivery more sustainable. Methods: The conjoint analysis was applied to evaluate a set of profiles defined by selected attributes in order to investigate the overall preferences for the profiles created by the respondents to the survey. Findings & value added: The segmentation of e-customers according to their preferences connected with last-mile delivery was presented. The added value of the paper is the presentation of the methodology to assess the impact of customer preferences on sustainable last-mile delivery. The obtained results may contribute to the formulation of recommendations for e-commerce and logistics companies regarding the preferences of e-customers to improve the sustainability of last-mile delivery.

Opis:
One of the most important problems of the present day is the safety of the existence of a human being and his or her cultural, civilizational and environmental existence. The idea about what should be done in order to guarantee the safe existence of species is the reason for the discussion within the broad circles of those dealing with science and also philosophy, and in particular eco-philosophy. It is eco-philosophy that truly focuses on substantiating the ways of thinking as well as the rules governing the committed and well-thought actions related to the environmental protection. Educational initiatives for sustainable development are open to the influence of eco-philosophy. Therefore, the need to fill educational strategies and programs with the subtle philosophical “matter”, expressed in the form of values and related behavioral norms, opens a significantly large space for eco-philosophers and the eco-philosophy itself. It needs to be emphasized that the relation between the education for sustainable development and the activities aimed at strengthening the structures of the civil society creates additional interest on the part of numerous social entities as regards the philosophical discourse.

Opis:
One of important factors of attractiveness of a region is its natural environment, namely a set of natural elements which are of interest to a tourist. In terms of economy, it is a source of raw materials and energy, it ensures geographical space, business opportunities and a place to live and relax. The aim of the research included in this article is to indicate the possibility of using synthetic measurement to recognize spatial disparities of the natural environment on the basis of selected diagnostic features of 102 municipalities of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. The data presented in this article refer to 2009, 2012 and 2015 and come from the Local Data Bank. The following variables were selected: the total use of household water per one inhabitant, the distribution network per 100 km2 - water pipe system, the distribution network per 100 km2 – sewage system, woodland area, areas protected by law, protected monuments. The elements indicated refer to entities which function and operate in a territorial unit. The methods presented enable us to identify areas of human life (or human impact on the environment) of higher/lower efficiency (which depends on the level of synthetic measure) and, then, programme their support from public funds within the framework of the regional policy.

The research focused on ecological awareness and knowledge regarding the Białowieża Forest, conducting two survey studies in 2015 and 2022. The analysis covered ecological awareness, knowledge of forest stands, project awareness, and opinions on government decisions. The local community exhibited an average knowledge level, accompanied by a notable decline in ecological awareness. A surprising discovery was the increased knowledge among tourists, contrasting with ecologists who emerged as the most well-informed group. The study also assessed the impact of government decisions, drawing conclusions from data gathered across various respondent groups. The findings underscored the nuanced dynamics of ecological awareness within the community, highlighting the need for targeted educational initiatives and fostering environmental consciousness among the local population. Furthermore, the fluctuating awareness levels among different groups emphasized the importance of tailored strategies for effective communication and outreach. The research contributes valuable insights into the evolving landscape of ecological awareness and knowledge, shedding light on areas for improvement in environmental education and conservation efforts in the context of the Białowieża Forest.
Badania zawarte w artykule dotyczą świadomości ekologicznej i wiedzy na temat Puszczy Białowieskiej. Przeprowadzono dwa badania ankietowe w 2015 i 2022 roku. Analizie poddano świadomość ekologiczną, wiedzę o drzewostanach, świadomość projektową oraz opinie na temat decyzji rządowych. Lokalna społeczność wykazywała przeciętny poziom wiedzy, któremu towarzyszył wyraźny spadek świadomości ekologicznej. Zaskakującym odkryciem był wzrost wiedzy wśród turystów, w przeciwieństwie do ekologów, którzy okazali się najlepiej poinformowaną grupą. W badaniu oceniono również wpływ decyzji rządowych, wyciągając wnioski z danych zebranych w różnych grupach respondentów. Wyniki podkreśliły zróżnicowaną dynamikę świadomości ekologicznej w społeczności, podkreślając potrzebę ukierunkowanych inicjatyw edukacyjnych i wspierania świadomości ekologicznej wśród lokalnej ludności. Co więcej, wahania poziomu świadomości wśród różnych grup podkreśliły znaczenie dostosowanych strategii skutecznej komunikacji i działań informacyjnych. Badania wnoszą cenny wkład w ewoluujący krajobraz świadomości i wiedzy ekologicznej, rzucając światło na obszary wymagające poprawy w zakresie edukacji ekologicznej i działań ochronnych w kontekście Puszczy Białowieskiej.

Celem artykułu było określenie poziomu wiedzy społeczeństwa o zagrożeniach, jakie mogą być związane z występowaniem w środowisku i żywności takich związków chemicznych jak dioksyny i akrylamid. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych wśród mieszkańców województwa pomorskiego dotyczących oceny poziomu wiedzy o tych substancjach, ich powstawaniu oraz o ograniczaniu ich rozprzestrzeniania się i toksycznego działania na organizm człowieka. Przedstawione wyniki badań przeprowadzonych wśród wybranej populacji wynika, że poziom wiedzy oraz świadomości na temat zagrożeń ze strony toksycznych dioksyn i akrylamidu jest niezadowalający. Respondenci nie zdają sobie sprawy z możliwości powstawania niebezpiecznych dioksyn w trakcie niskotemperaturowych procesów spalania oraz ich przenoszenia na otaczające tereny uprawne. Tylko 1/3 badanych jest świadoma możliwości powstania niebezpiecznych związków podczas smażenia, natomiast większość nie jest tego pewna lub o tym nie wie. Część badanych, która kupuje żywność ekologiczną uważa, że uchroni ich ona od wystąpienia szkodliwych substancji w posiłkach, a część twierdzi, że w dzisiejszych czasach takie substancje w żywności i środowisku nie występują.
The aim of the present paper is to describe the level of citizens' knowledge about the threat which may appear in connection with occurrence of compounds such as dioxins and acrylamide in the environment and food. Additionally, the article reports results of questionnaire studies conducted among pomeranian district citizens, concerning assessment of their knowledge about these substances, their formation and the containment of their spreading and toxic effect on the human organism. The reported results of studies in the chosen population show that the level of knowledge and awareness about the threat from toxic dioxins and acrylamide is insufficient. The respondents do not realize that dangerous dioxins may form during lowtemperature combustion processes and may be transformed to the surrounding arable land. Only 1/3 of the respondents are aware of the possibility of formation of dangerous substances during frying, while the majority are either uncertain or just don't know about it. A part of the respondents that buy organic food think that it protects them from harmful substances in their meals, and some of them claim that such substances do not occur at present.
