    Opis:
    Understanding the phenomenon of environmental education and implementation of its principles in the cultural life of our contemporary is an urgent problem of today. The integrity of the natural environment for human existence, and the acquisition of skills necessary for an individual in the contemporary society depend on the level of environmental upbringing and environmental education of people, and the younger generation, in particular. Environmental education aims to help people understand the causes of environmental changes and to propose the ways to prevent them. The article highlights the aims, subject matter & peculiarities of environmental education, its influence on the formation of environmental consciousness of the younger generation in Ukraine. Environmental knowledge is regarded as a prerequisite for the development of environmental consciousness, and their successful acquisition forms environmental outlook.

    Opis:
    The human-centric nature of environmental thinking is a highly successful adaptation, which has biological, historical, cultural origins. The dichotomy of anthropocentrism and ecocentrism are what ultimately determine ecological attitudes. This nationally representative study presents how students in Hungarian environmental education bachelor programs view the human’s taxonomic position in the world (hierarchies, kinship), throughout evolution (determining possible directions, distancing from other organisms), the role of human power, and our rights of intervention in the environment. It shows what kind of knowledge students arrive with from public education, how they think about handling confl icts, and what impact their acquired knowledge during university years has on their environmental attitudes. It was found that at least two-thirds of students evaluated natural environmental processes, problemsand their consequences with anthropocentric preferences – in contrast to scientifi cally accepted theses.

    Opis:
    The article analyses children’s non-fiction aimed at developing ecological and environmental awareness, with a particular focus on Italian publishing production. On examining recent trends in the domain, it is possible to observe significant elements of change: an increasing focus on the use of captivating narrative techniques and a great attention to the visual element of the book, which functions both as an aesthetic element and as demonstrative evidence. Observably, communication in non-fiction is more and more premised on narrative approaches that cleverly stimulate imaginative and critical thinking skills. Overcoming the purely informative and scientific content-based communicative paradigm, traditionally associated with the notion of non-fiction, and integrating new forms of narrative writing, recent non-fiction exhibits an emotional-affective dimension capable of stimulating critical reflection, ecological awareness and virtuous behaviour for the protection of the environment in all its aspects.
    L’area della letteratura non-fiction per l’infanzia coinvolta nel trattamento di temi sensibili per l’educazione ecologica ha recentemente mostrato notevoli segni di trasformazione, puntando su una divulgazione all’insegna del piacere e della scoperta, ma mantenendo allo stesso tempo una chiara attenzione per il rispetto di una comunicazione fondata su informazioni scientificamente controllate. Alcuni fattori rilevanti di tale recente evoluzione hanno riguardato la crescente enfasi sugli elementi visivi ed una rinnovata perizia nell’intessere i contenuti della divulgazione scientifica all’interno di soluzioni narrative appassionanti per il lettore. In tal modo, la funzione di divulgazione risulta sempre più contestualizzata dentro forme di racconto capaci di mettere sapientemente in gioco costrutti immaginativi e di stimolare il pensiero critico. Il superamento del paradigma comunicativo di taglio prettamente informativo-contenutistico, tradizionalmente evocato dalla nozione di “letteratura di divulgazione”, e l’integrazione di nuove pratiche di scrittura sensibili alla forma letteraria e narrativa, indicano nel complesso una tendenza utile alla formazione di una “mente ecologica”, capace di valorizzare sapienti intrecci tra le dimensioni del sapere scientifico e il piano dell’assunzione di responsabilità per il destino del pianeta.

    Opis:
    The paper deals with the different discourses of ecology, including creative ecology, in the context of sustainable development. The author presents a classification of the ecological discourses as follows: meta-ecology, area ecology, educational ecology, linguistic ecology, ecology of novelty, technological ecology, epistemological ecology, approach ecology, political ecology, and ecology of visuality. Additionally, every branch of ecology has been divided into 3 sub-branches. According to the author, ecology has become a problem only after human activity has started to threaten for the very human environment including natural and ipso facto for human being, i.e. for social sustainable development. The extension of ecology discourse could be treated as the result for both of the mania of nature protection and of invasion of cultural area into natural one. The ecological discourses are also often incommensurable, since they stem from very different scientific rims despite analogous terms (ecology) and approaches (environmental). Even in the cases when they do not deal with the nature and natural environment, the laws of nature and the relationships between the organisms within it, serve as a model for an ecological discourse. Some features are characteristic for different discourses of ecology: 1) reference to certain environment; 2) suggested protection of a natural or cultural area; 3) systematic approach; 4) the attitude that the parts of a system are fighting for their survival like the organisms in the nature; 5) dynamic approach towards both the system and its parts under the evolution; 6) conviction that the human activity should be regulated and limited. Creative ecology could be treated both: as a branch in ecology of novelty and as a kind of meta-discourse, since every discourse requires creative thinking.
    Artykuł omawia różne dyskursy ekologiczne, włącznie z ekologią kreatywną, w kontekście zrównoważonego rozwoju. Przedstawiono klasyfikację dyskursów ekologicznych uwzględniając: meta-ekologię, ekologię przestrzeni, edukację ekologiczną, ekologię lingwistyczną, nową ekologię, ekologię techniczną, ekologię epistemologiczną, ekologię polityczną i ekologię wizualną. Ponadto w ramach każdej z wymienionych dyscyplin ekologii wydzielono 3 subdyscypliny. Zdaniem autora, ekologia stała się problemem, gdy ludzka aktywność zaczęła zagrażać środowisku i ipso facto samemu człowiekowi, w tym społecznemu filarowi rozwoju zrównoważonego. Rozszerzenie dyskursu ekologicznego bywa traktowane jako odchylenie ochrony środowiska i inwazja sfery kultury w sferę natury. Dyskursy ekologiczne są zwykle niewspółmierne, ponieważ wywodzą się z różnych nauk, pomimo analogicznych terminów (ekologia) i podejść (do środowiska). Jednakże, nawet w przypadku gdy nie dyskutują one przyrody i środowiska naturalnego, praw natury i relacji pomiędzy organizmami – i tak służą za model dyskursu ekologicznego. Można wskazać tu na cechy charakterystyczne dla różnych dyskursów: 1) odniesienie do środowiska; 2) sugerowana ochrona naturalnej lub kulturowej przestrzeni; 3) podejście systematyczne; 4) przekonanie, że części systemu walczą o swe przetrwanie w sposób analogiczny do organizmów w przyrodzie; 5) dynamiczne podejście wobec zarówno systemu, jak i jego podlegających ewolucji części; 6) przekonanie, że ludzka działalność powinna podlegać regulacji i być ograniczona. Kreatywną ekologię można traktować zarówno jako dziedzinę nowej ekologii, jak i rodzaj meta-dyskursu wymagającego kreatywnego myślenia.

    The concept as the system concept is arousing the sustainable development a lot doubts by comparing expressions in the name about contrary meanings. This notion coming originally from the forest administration region, in the 21st century immanently is connected with the ethicaleconomic concept of essential needs and with the idea of limited possibilities of the environmental global system. Accurately and briefly essence of the problem of exaggerated consuming the natural environment and intensifying antropopression is returning the determination “border of height”. Poland undergoing a systemic transformation so far more has common to the imitative modernization than the sustainable development. Hence also not there is a role of the education for overrating: natural, ecological, sozological and environmental in action to his thing. The both formal and unofficial education is shaping desired socially needs, attitudes and patterns of behaviour, including them in expected and useful environmentally and ecologically moral values and ethical principles. Based on not next to formulate it is possible strategies of education, environment-friendly action which would be well up to ecohumanistic existence. Concluding, success of the sustainable development – not only economies – is becoming possible thanks to the knowledge: natural, ecological, sozological, economic and ethical.
    Koncepcja zrównoważonego rozwoju jako koncepcja systemowa wzbudza wiele wątpliwości poprzez zestawienie w nazwie wyrazów o sprzecznych znaczeniach. Pojęcie to, pochodząc pierwotnie z leśnictwa, w XXI wieku immanentnie związane jest z etyczno-ekonomiczną koncepcją podstawowych potrzeb i ideą ograniczonych możliwości globalnego systemu ekologicznego. Trafnie i skrótowo meritum problemu nadmiernego zużywania środowiska naturalnego i nasilającej się antropopresji oddaje określenie „granice wzrostu”. Polska, przechodząc transformację systemową, jak dotąd więcej ma wspólnego z modernizacją imitacyjną niż ze zrównoważonym rozwojem. Stąd też nie do przecenienia jest rola edukacji: przyrodniczej, ekologicznej, sozologicznej i środowiskowej w działaniach na jego rzecz. Edukacja, zarówno formalna, jak i nieformalna, kształtuje pożądane społecznie potrzeby, postawy i wzory zachowań, ujmując je w oczekiwane i przydatne środowiskowo i ekologicznie wartości moralne i zasady etyczne. W oparciu o nie z kolei formułować można strategie działań wychowawczych, proekologicznych, które zorientowane byłyby na egzystencję ekohumanistyczną. Konkludując, powodzenie zrównoważonego rozwoju – nie tylko gospodarki – staje się możliwe dzięki wiedzy: przyrodniczej, ekologicznej, sozologicznej, ekonomicznej i etycznej.

    This article presents the figure of Tadeusz Czeżowski, the creator of the concept of the meaning of human life, formed in the manner of thinking proper to holism and environmental philosophy, called philosophical environmentalism. He considers the meaning of human life in connection with the meaning of other components of nature and society. An individual’s life is fully meaningful when, in pursuing their own purpose, they contribute to the purposes inherent in ever-widening environments up to the infinitely great environment of the universe. This is possible when an individual is treated as an integral component of the universe, inseparable from it.
    W artykule przedstawiono postać Tadeusza Czeżowskiego, twórcy koncepcji sensu życia człowieka zbudowanej na gruncie stylu myślenia właściwego holizmowi oraz filozofii środowiska zwanej enwironmentalizmem filozoficznym. Rozpatruje on sens życia człowieka w powiązaniu z sensem innych elementów przyrody i społeczeństwa. Życie jednostki jest w pełni sensowne, gdy realizując swój własny cel, przyczynia się do realizacji celów właściwych coraz szerszym środowiskom aż do nieskończenie wielkiego, jakim jest wszechświat. Jest to możliwe wtedy, gdy jednostkę traktuje się jako integralny składnik uniwersum, nierozerwalnie z nim związany.
