Opis:: Generation-based approach to natural resource economics has been developed in the article. Based on sustainable development definition, generations can be categorized by present and future ones. An ecological classification of the global natural resources has been proposed, which is related to future generations. Economic issues of eco-futuristic classification have also been raised in the article. Classification of ecological values has been proposed and ecological values being incorporated into a form of ecological culture and exploited as a new factor of production have been analyzed. The effect of increasing marginal futuristic utility of ecological values has been revealed at the end of the article.

Opis:: Ecological indicator values (EIV) are a commonly used tool for assessing habitat conditions in various ecosystems. They are relatively rarely used for the analysis of epiphytic communities, which results from objective difficulties in the study of this group of organisms in full height gradient on settled trees. Windthrows provide a rare opportunity to fully analyse the biota diversity of epiphytic bryophytes and lichens. The aim of the study was to determine and compare the EIV variability for bryophytes and lichens in the vertical gradient, from terrestrial to different epiphytic exposures. The fieldworks were carried out on two windthrow areas in the Kampinos National Park (central Poland). A set of floristic lists was prepared within five distinguished parts of trees (trunk base, lower trunk, upper trunk, lower crown and upper crown) and three parts of their uproots (pit, bottom root plate and top root plate) for three species (oak, birch, pine). Ten individuals of each tree species were selected. The average values of five ecological indicator values (light, temperature, continentality, humidity and acidity) were calculated within the examined parts of trees and their uproots. The significance of differences between bryophyte and lichen EIV within same parts of trees and their uproots was checked using Wilcoxon paired test. The significance of differences of EIV calculated for bryophytes and lichens pulled together between distinguished tree and uproot parts were checked with Kruskal−Wallis or Mann−Whitney tests. Ordination of researched parts in terms of their EIV was carried out using NMDS method. The values of individual EIV obtained with the use of bryophytes and lichens for the examined parts of trees and their uproots differed significantly in most cases. The values of temperature and continentality in most cases were significantly higher for lichen, which may indicate the need for additional calibration of these indicators for these groups of organisms. The use of both groups of organisms in bioindication has increased the quantity and quality of available ecological information. The research confirmed the usefulness of ecological indicator values as a tool for analysing general habitat conditions in forest ecosystems.

Opis:: Streszczenie Godność człowieka jest fundamentem warunkującym właściwą relację człowieka względem środowiska naturalnego. Jej respektowanie warunkuje właściwe rozumienie i hierarchię wartości proekologicznych. Należy do nich szacunek dla życia i zdrowia osoby, a także wrażliwość, odpowiedzialność, powściągliwość, solidarność, praca, odwaga bycia, mądrość. Godność człowieka można zatem uznać za najwyższą wartość proekologiczną, zaś na jej realizacji powinny się opierać wszelkie działania mające na celu przezwyciężenie zaistniałego kryzysu ekologicznego, którego źródło znajduje się w samym człowieku. Materiał i metody Zastosowano metodę analizy literatury oraz selekcję treści w celu uzyskania syntezy omawianych zagadnień. Wnioski Respektowanie godności człowieka i wypływających z niej wartości proekologicznych, stanowi najlepszą gwarancję zarówno na wyjście z zaistniałego kryzysu ekologicznego, jak też trwanie we właściwych relacjach ze światem przyrody. Z godności człowieka, jako najwyższej wartości proekologicznej, oprócz wspomnianej powyżej właściwej hierarchii wartości proekologicznych, wyłania się również naczelna zasada proekologiczną, którą można określić jako bycie kimś dla drugich.

Floristic and habitat diversity of the dunes in the Narew River Valley

Opis:: The aim of the research presented here was to determine and compare the habitat conditions of the two adjacent dune areas in the Narew River Valley. For the comparative studies we used the ecological indicator value method and the index of forest soil trophism (ITGL), both of which revealed differences between the investigated habitats. Values of ITGL indicate that in the case of the Uroczysko Serwańce dune, which is covered by a mixed coniferous forest (Serratulo-Piceetum), the habitat is oligotrophic, while the habitat on the Ławki Małe dune is dominated by a not yet fully developed Tilio-Carpinetum plant community which displays a mesotrophic character. Similar differences were observed using ecological indicator values. Soil indices calculated for the oak-hornbeam stand on the Ławki Małe dune indicate the presence of fresh, mesotrophic, humus-mineral soils made of sandy loam or silt substrate with a near-neutral pH. From these results we can deduce that climatic conditions, affected by peatlands, have a greater impact on the development of vegetation on inpeatland dunes than relatively poor soils.

Opis:: The depreciation of values, combined with the expansion of agriculture, industry and the economy, results in the erosion of existing protection mechanisms, as well as commodification and dominance of economic factors. The increasing degradation of the natural environment reveals an increasing number of areas requiring urgent and coordinated protection. The aim of the article is to present the innovative concept of green courts, which are creating a new architecture of modern environmental law. In the considerations, it is indicated that ‘green’ courts at a national level open the way to formulate new legal institutions, facilitate more effective the enforcement of environmental law, and solve legal disputes with alternative adjudicative processes. The article discusses environmental justice based on the example of India and New Zealand, which are among the first countries in the world to have developed an innovative judicial structure and environmental case law. The dogmatic method plays an essential role in the analysis of legal norms concerning the protection of environment, as well as in determining their content and scope. The source materials originate from various legal orders, and diverse cultural and geographical regions. Therefore, in order to discuss the indicated issues, it is necessary to use the comparative method, and thus complete the arguments of a dogmatic and legal nature. In order to present the origins and evolution of law in the scope concerning ‘green’ courts, the historical and legal method is used (temporal retrospection). The considerations emphasize the role of specialist ‘green’ courts in maintaining a balance between the economy, the development of society, and protecting the environmental wellbeing by shifting the focus of jurisprudence to the environmental domain. The article highlights the role of the application and interpretation of environmental norms from an ethical and intergenerational perspective.

Opis:: Twenty three populations of hoary ragwort Senecio erucifolius L. were studied to evaluate the ecological indicator values for this species in Poland; four population represented subsp. erucifolius and 19 subsp. tenuifolius. The indicator values show some diversity between two subspecies but it is the index of continentalism which differs the most these two taxa. Senecio erucifolius subsp. erucifolius is an Atlantic taxon, which occurs in the western part of Poland, while subspecies tenuifolius is subcontinental taxon, occurring mainly in the eastern part of the country.

Opis:: The aim of this article is to present the set of values and the axiological system of environmental ethics, as well as reflect critically on the possibilities of implementing ecological values in preschool and elementary education. The condition for acting upon values by a person is the knowledge of values, the possibility of having practically cognitive contact with them, free choice and creative activity. Learning about ecological values by teachers is crucial for them in order to educate preschool and primary school children in these values. Ecological values can be an important source of the defined goals of ecological education, as well as education in pro-environmental attitudes of children and adolescents. However, only superficial ecological education and the use of methods that do not serve building children's bonds with nature can contribute to the undesired effect: opposition towards life and well-being of plants and animals or to the values of compassion, solidarity and respect for nature. In order to tackle global problems in the era of climate change, one should focus on common ecological values for all eco-orientations, which are: moderation, self-limitation, responsibility, respect for nature, intra-generational and intergenerational justice, solidarity and opening to the intrinsic value of nature.
Celem artykułu jest prezentacja zbioru wartości i sytemu aksjologicznego etyki środowiskowej oraz krytyczny namysł nad możliwościami urzeczywistniania wartości ekologicznych w edukacji przedszkolnej i edukacji elementarnej. Warunkiem realizowania wartości przez człowieka jest znajomość wartości, możliwość praktycznie poznawczego z nimi kontaktu, wolny wybór czy twórcza aktywność. Poznanie wartości ekologicznych przez nauczycieli jest kluczowe dla procesu wychowywania do wartości dzieci przedszkolnych i wczesnoszkolnych. Wartości ekologiczne mogą być ważnym źródłem określanych celów wychowania ekologicznego i kształcenia postaw prośrodowiskowych dzieci i młodzieży. Jednak powierzchowna edukacja ekologiczna i stosowanie metod, które nie służą budowaniu więzi dzieci z przyrodą mogą przyczynić się do występowania przeciwko: życiu i dobru własnemu roślin i zwierząt czy wartości współodczuwania, solidarności, szacunku dla natury. Aby podejmować ogólnoświatowe problemy w dobie zmian klimatycznych należy skupić się wspólnych wartościach ekologicznych dla wszystkich orientacji ekoetycznych jakimi są: umiarkowanie, samoograniczenie, odpowiedzialność, rewerencja dla natury, sprawiedliwość wewnątrzpokoleniowa i międzypokoleniowa, solidarność oraz otwieranie się na samoistną wartość natury.

Opis:: Artykuł skupia się na analizie warstwy aksjologicznej słownictwa ekologicznego będącego w obiegu publicznym. Do analiz różnorodnego korpusu posłużyły pojęcia głównie z semantyki dyskursywnej: profil leksykalno-dyskursywny, desygnat dyskursywny oraz pamięć interdyskursywna. Z analiz wynika, że pojęcie tzw. odpowiedzialności ekologicznej jest głównym odniesieniem w tworzeniu warstwy aksjologicznej słownictwa skoncentrowanego na dwóch głównych osiach: dobre, sprawiedliwe, korzystne vs niedobre, niesprawiedliwe, niekorzystne dla człowieka i środowiska/planety. Zaobserwowano również, iż wartościowanie zaczyna się już na poziomie definicji w słownikach językowych i tematycznych.
The article focuses on the analysis of the axiological dimension of ecology-related vocabulary. The following concepts were used to analyze the diversified corpus: lexical-discursive profile, discursive designation and interdiscursive memory. The analyzes show that the concept of the so-called ecological responsibility is the main reference in creating two main axes: good, fair, beneficial vs bad, unfair, unfavorable for humans and the environment / the planet. It has also been observed that valuation begins at the level of definition of a lexical item in linguistic and thematic dictionaries.
