Opis:
In the study, the author refers to R. Kwaśnica’s concept of two rationalities and to P. Bourdieu’s constructivist structuralism. She assumes that the teacher’s activity takes place within the limits of two (adaptive and emancipatory) rationalities in a specific “field”, with a particular social, cultural and human capital, and with a developed habitus which determines educational practice. A research report is presented. This is done in the form of a record of the current state and socio-civilizational changes which have influenced teachers working in the southern part of the Polish-Czech borderland. Research results show both the continuity and change of the teacher’s behavior and activity from the perspective of social time and social change. They allow for a closer insight into the structure of pedagogical activities and their effects. The strategy of lon- gitudinal comparisons was applied. Diagnostic polling and the interview were used along with the (repeatable) panel method. The studies were conducted in time spans (1998, 2008, 2016) and they concerned the measurement of the teacher’s perception of the “other” learner in class, self-reflection upon the role applied by the teacher, and the teacher’s competences. The obtained research results allow for discovering the characteristics of the teacher’s habitus, for understanding the mechanisms of its functioning and for the effective design of educational activity.

Opis:
The article presents the disturbing phenomenon of discrimination, exclusion of older people from the social life and the ways of preventing these phenomena through education. It becomes necessary to create educational offer adapted to the needs and possibilities of older people. In the opposite case, the problem of social exclusion could be exacerbate, and its solution – in a world of accelerating changes - may be more difficult in the future. The article uses the results of research carried out within the project realized under the Lifelong Learning Program – Grundtvig „Evaluation Toolkit on Seniors Education to Improve Their Quality of Life”.
Artykuł przedstawia niepokojące zjawisko dyskryminacji, wykluczania osób starszych z przestrzeni życia społecznego oraz sposoby przeciwdziałania tym zjawiskom przez edukację. Należy stworzyć dla osób starszych przystosowaną do ich potrzeb i możliwości ofertę edukacyjną, w przeciwnym przypadku problem wykluczenia społecznego może się pogłębiać, a jego rozwiązanie w świecie coraz szybszych zmian może okazać się w przyszłości jeszcze trudniejsze. W artykule wykorzystano wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w ramach projektu realizowanego z programu „Uczenie się przez całe życie” – Grundtvig „Evaluation Toolkit on Seniors Education to Improve Their Quality of Life”.

Mathematics is the universal compartment through which both the study and the discovery of the surrounding environment take place. At the same time, mathematics is the academic discipline through which the formation of logical and practical thinking is pursued, so for the students of pedagogical specialties this discipline is an abstract science about which students know only what they have learned in gymnasium. Therefore, the motivation and professional orientation for studying mathematics are necessary, allowing in this context the application of mathematical knowledge and skills acquired in practical activities. This article thoroughly analyses the concept of motivation, but also addresses the motivation issue of the students in post-secondary technical vocational education – future primary school teachers in the Republic of Moldova. The article presents the results of a study to determine valid criteria for diagnosing the students level of readiness for self-educational activities. In the study as the psychological readiness for self-education author considers the desire to perform certain self-educational tasks, the ability to achieve the goals of self-education, the presence of moral and volitional qualities that contribute to the fulfillment of this task (responsibility, discipline, perseverance), understanding of the essence and the need of self-education for becoming a specialist. By technological readiness for self-educational activity, the author understands the ability to perform self-educational tasks, the ability to allocate time, organize, control, and adjust self activities. Based on the obtained results, it is concluded that the level of psychological readiness for self-education can be defined as the average arithmetic mean of students' assessments on a three-point scale of statements of the questionnaire "Readiness for self-educational activity": "I like to study on my own"; “I study additionally myself”; “I can independently achieve my goals of self-education”; “I realize that I will not achieve my goals without additional study”; “I study new things every day”; “I'm quite responsible”; "I'm quite disciplined." The level of technological readiness for self-educational activity is defined as the average value of expert assessments of self-educational skills and average assessments of students of their own ability to set goals and plan activities. The sum of these assessments makes it possible to judge the level of the student's readiness for selfeducational activity, as well as to correct the underdeveloped components of readiness. The validity of these criteria is confirmed by a statistical study revealing reliable links with the corresponding scales of the standardized questionnaires "General structure of activity" (GSA) E.Yu. Mandrikova and "Style of self-regulation of behavior" (SSB) by V.I. Morosanova.

Opis:
The main objective of this article is to present the role of a higher education institution in enhancing auto-educational activities from the perspective of students of pedagogy at the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. The main research tool that was applied in the research included the method of document analysis. By means of both classic and modern methods of document analysis, the author analysed and interpreted documents created intentionally – essays, i.e. respondents’ written opinions on issues of importance from the scientific point of view. The research results revealed that students’ auto-educational activity regarding the development of the intellectual (cognitive) sphere connected with acquiring social competences, self-discovery, biological sphere (e.g. caring for one’s health, physical condition, appearance) and spiritual sphere is only to a small degree determined by a higher education institution.

The article presents the opportunities the church institutions have to stimulate the older generation. The Church plays an important role in seniors' life and religious practices and their awareness of being needful for the church is very important. Religiousness is also a form of leisure activities preferred by older adults. From this perspective we can see how great potential the church has to activate seniors. In addition to evangelization and worship church is able to offer them a lot of proposals meeting their socio-cultural and educational needs. Education provided by church is not limited to the Bible only, it is present during pilgrimages to the holy places, prayer meetings and social events, trips to cinema, theater and in the organizing of various events not strictly connected with religious practices. The most important thing is that all forms of seniors' animation bring the possibility of interpersonal contacts what is very important for this age group and highly improves the quality of their lives.

Wiek XXI staje się czasem podejmowania działań na rzecz starzejącego się społeczeństwa, aktywizacji osób starszych, angażowania ich w różne formy działań o charakterze społecznym, obywatelskim i in. W ten trend pojawiających się zadań wpisuje się pedagogika i polityka społeczna, od ich praktycznych rozwiązań zależy bowiem pomyślne zaangażowanie najstarszych członków społeczeństwa w jego rozwój i zmianę. W artykule skupiono się na wartości aktywności społecznej i edukacyjnej osób starszych dla ich rozwoju oraz funkcjonowania w świecie dynamicznych przemian. Zwrócono uwagę na niską aktywność seniorów w zakresie wymienionych obszarów funkcjonowania. To przyczyniło się do sformułowania zadań dla edukacji i polityki społecznej na rzecz troski już od najmłodszych lat, najmłodszych pokoleń w przygotowaniu do dobrej i godnej starości.
