Psycho-manipulative activity of cults constitutes a great problem for every school system. In Polish schools there these are preventive operations that are focused on. They are supposed to protect children and youth from being recruited to cults. These establishments are not openly encouraged to execute these undertakings by education department. There is a lack of coherent policy state authorities in the scope of prevention against cults. The majority of actions in this scope are undertaken by non-governmental organizations.

W artykule przedstawiono problemy związane z nauką języków programowania w polskim systemie oświaty. Analizując treści podręczników do nauki informatyki i technologii informacyjnej z kilkunastu ostatnich lat zwrócono uwagę na ewolucję, jakim podlegały programy nauczania języ-ków programowania.
In this article problems related to the process of learning of programming languages in the Polish educational system are presented. By analyzing the content of computer science and infor-mation technology textbooks over the last several years, the evolution of programs of programming languages teaching is emphasized. The main reasons for a choice of a specific programming language are presented. It is argued that in order to create new computer programs, more advanced and demanding programming platforms are being used. Taking into account the state of the art knowledge about security of computer programs, especially those used within the network, it is mentioned that an unexperienced programmer may encounter a number of difficulties in the creation of both func-tional and safe applications. An argument is made that at present only the most talented students should be attracted to program-writing, as only such students would be able to meet the highly demanding requirements related to an appropriate level of security of the designed applications.

Education stops being an autotelic value, growing from natural cognitive needs, from natural cognitive needs, from a desire to understand oneself, as well as the surrounding word better; instead, it becomes a certificate giving definite rights. In search of specific requirements we lose the ability at things; we lose the ability of e.g. independent thinking, intellectual openness. The process of introducing parameters to education also leads to various consequences contradictory to the idea of increasing its quality; this is connected with the general conviction about the low intellectual level of people starting university education, and in consequence, receiving university diplomas.

Opis:
This article proposes to consider the education system as a factor in the formation of people's personal values. We examine students' perceptions of the degree to which existing educational standards are oriented towards the formation and development of personal values, as well as formulate proposals for the implementation of a systems approach to the development of educational standards as a factor in improving the existing complex of personal values. The methodology applied included: desk analysis by comparison, deduction, and induction; a questionnaire study; variance, discriminant, factor and morphological analysis. Respondents were segmented according to the criteria "presence of groups of values" — "conjugation of groups of values with variables." University students, i.e., the part of society that is considered the most active and progressive, were found to have a low level of moral and ethical values. After considering the place of education in the macro-environment of the country was substantiated, we propose a number of measures to address the problem of raising the level of values among all participants in the educational process, in order to reduce the gap between the pace of technical advancement and humanitarian development of society.

Opis:
The author's article takes up the subject of values in the Polish educational system. State requirements relating to the Polish education system include all kinds of values. Reviewing and analyzing these values, the authors asked teachers how they themselves understood them, whether they were implemented, and to what extent they were internalized, and did these values affect professional development? The research was conducted using the survey method developed by the authors. It was conducted among primary school teachers. Answers to these questions were provided on the basis of preliminary research. The results provided the basis for reflection and discussion on the values present in state requirements and their perception and realization by teachers. The authors also considered the importance of the research results for the (already) developed model of educational leadership in Poland.

Opis:
The aim of the article is to discuss the potential of educational monitoring, which is part of the debate on the quality of education, which has been ongoing since the 1980s. The assumptions of education monitoring are situated in the theoretical and methodological concept of controlling the output resources of the education system as an opportunity to achieve better results by recognizing changes in framework conditions and process factors. The new approach to education control also fits into the context of an evidence-based policy that, according to the needs and expectations, can shape the development of the education system and set long-, medium- and short-term goals. In the article, it was considered important to first recognize the essence of educational monitoring and the dominant theoretical approaches and selected models, and then to identify and analyze the challenges related to it in the education sector in terms of development and quality assurance.

Opis:
One of the most significant features of the modern countries in Africa is that an alien educational method was brought there from Europe and was combined with the indigenous African or Islamic educational structures and institutions. The new educational system, described as secular, conflicted especially with those existing systems which were religious in nature. Western education was, however, hard to resist because of all the advantages it contained in terms of preparing Africans for a new economic structure and technology, and the accompanying job opportunities. This led to the following dilemmas: Was it possible to combine the traditional and modern systems of education? Was it possible to modernise without eliminating the religious element of the educational system? These questions summarise the main problematic with which the Muslim scholars of the East African coast were confronted at the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth century’s. It was the time when the Arab Islamic civilisation provided the ideal model for Muslim practice and conduct as a new European model of life was emerging. And all this was taking place in a particular cultural context, Swahili. Some leaders of the Swahili Islamic community realized that there was no alternative to modifying their traditional system of education and opening it to the modern tendencies. One of these leaders was Sheikh al-Amin b. Ali al-Mazrui. Through his various activities, teaching and writings, he strongly influenced the educational development of Islam in East Africa. This paper presents some aspects of Islamic education in Kenya, where the traditional Islamic concept of education has encountered one of its greatest challenges: modern education. The clash between these two entirely different concepts created some problems and brought into question even fundamental elements of the previous system. Consequently, the mediaeval structure of the Quranic school was modernized and a new form, the madrasa, emerged, this also highlighted the problem of female education, so that, eventually, Muslim girls were allowed to acquire a proper education. The educational problems that arose on the East African coast at the beginning of the past century are reflected in the life activity of Sheikh al-Amin. His legacy and the clash between these two concepts had far-reaching consequences, which continue today. The particular focus of this work concerns aspects of the educational system of the East African coast at the beginning of the twentieth century. This is of great personal interest since the author has had the opportunity of working as a Catholic missionary in various Kenyan schools where he experienced the mission challenges of Islam in Kenya.
