The problem indicated in the title of the article seems to be a matter of aesthetics which need at least an elementary analysis from the philosophical perspective, as well as humanistic reflection directly or indirectly associated with it. Also, it seems that the popular idea of abstract art usually associated only with the methods of imaging, is highly debatable. The possibility of applying the category of abstraction in relation to artifacts outside the convention can and even should be considered under the condition that we determine the scope of the concept of abstraction and the provenance of the concept of abstraction. The starting point for discussion should be the reconstruction of the concept of abstraction and abstract art, then examine the possibility of occurrence of abstract expressionist painting, in which the means of artistic expression become autonomous, and important parts of the image have lost their figurative/ representational character, and gained the status of self-meaningful image elements. The expressionist roots must be sought in expressive form of triune chorea – the synthesis of music, dance and poetry, whose function was to express human feelings. It used to be an abstract which revealed the state of mind and soul, therefore explicating the state of the abstract and not concrete.

Część pierwsza niniejszego opracowania poświęcona jest koincydencji stylowych relacji pomiędzy Art Déco i ekspresjonizmem. Przedstawia źródła powstania jednego i drugiego stylu, które występują równolegle w czasie i często "zapożyczają" od siebie detale architektoniczne, co nieraz utrudnia niezmiernie ich klasyfikację. W artykule zaprezentowano szereg obiektów występujących w wielu krajach, wydobywając ich cechy charakterystyczne oraz szeroko dokumentując źródła ich powstania.
The first part of this study is devoted to the idea of coincidence of stylistic relations between Art Déco and expressionism. It presents the sources of origin of both styles, which occurred at the same time and frequently "borrowed" architectonic details from each other - which occasionally might make their classification extremely difficult. The article presents several objects, occurring in various countries, enhancing their characteristic features and documenting their origins.

Część druga artykułu dotyczy również architektury międzywojennego Krakowa ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem niektórych problemów ekspresyjnego dekoracjonizmu
The second part of this study is devoted to the coincidence of stylistic relations between Art Déco and expressionism. It presents the sources of origin of both styles, which occurred parallel in time and frequently 'borrowed' architectonic details from each other - which sometimes may have made their classification extremely difficult. The article presents several objects found in many countries, emphasising their characteristic features and thoroughly documenting their origin. The second part of the article concerns also the architecture of interwar Krakow with particular stress on selected issues of expressive decorationism.

Opis:
The study deals with the rendition of the figure of Ophelia in Czech modern poetry in comparison with the poetry of European Expressionism. The image of Ophelia’s aesthetic death from Shakespeare’s drama Hamlet has influenced and inspired a whole range of artworks. It strongly reverberated in German Expressionist poetry, especially that by Georg Heym, Gottfried Benn and Georg Trakl. The Czech poets who approached this topic in the spirit of Expressionism include Jan Skácel, Vladimír Holan and Jiří Orten. The study further addresses these works in the light of the Ophelia complex as defined by Bachelard.
Artykuł dotyczy interpretacji postaci Ofelii w czeskiej poezji współczesnej w porównaniu z poezją europejskiego ekspresjonizmu. Estetyka obrazu śmierci Ofelii z dramatu Hamlet Szekspira wpłynęła na literaturę tego okresu i ją zainspirowała. Wpływ ten wyraziście odzwierciedlił się w poezji ekspresjonizmu niemieckiego, szczególnie w twórczości Georga Heyma, Gottfrieda Benna i Georga Trakla. Czescy poeci, którzy prezentowali to zjawisko w duchu ekspresjonizmu, to Jan Skácel, Holan i Jiří Orten. Studium rozpatruje tę twórczość z punktu widzenia kompleksu Ofelii zdefiniowanego przez Gastona Bachelarda.

Tekst stara się przedstawić pewien rodzaj architektury, która jest wyrazem metafory jako „pretekstu” powstania projektu i nadania nowego znaczenia formie zbudowanego budynku. Działania takie wiązały się z potrzebą wyrażenia ekspresyjności i pojawienia się marzeń o dynamice formy. Architekci potrzebowali nowych środków dla przeniesienia pierwotnych myśli ze szkiców w zmaterializowany budynek, okazało się to rzeczą trudną i nie zawsze udawała się nawet Erichowi Mandelsohnowi, jednemu z twórców rewolucji w architekturze i geniuszowi rysunku.
This paper attempts to present a certain kind of architecture which has become an expression of metaphor as a “pretext” for the formation of a design giving a new meaning to the form of constructed buildings. It was related to the need to express things and Dreas about the dynamics of a form. Architects needed new means of transferring original ideas from sketches and transforming them into a completed building. It was a difficult thing, even for one of the initiators of a revolution in architecture, Erich Mendelsohn – a genius of architectural sketches.

Das Ziel der Magisterarbeit ist , die Darstellungswiese der Körperlichkeit in der expressionistischen Erzählprosa zu untersuchen sowie das Verhältnis der ausgewählten Erzählungen mit den Programmschriften zu analysieren.Das Hauptaugenmerk wird in dieser Arbeit auf die Körperlichkeit gerichtet. Es wird der Frage nachgegangen, auf welche Weise in jeweiligen Werken des Expressionismus der Körper dargestellt wird und welche Funktion die jeweilige Darstellungsweise erfüllen soll. Als Beispiele der expressionistischen Prosa werden zwei Erzählungen unter die Lupe genommen: „Die Tänzerin und der Leib” von Alfred Döblin sowie „Der Lazo” von Kasimir Edschmid.Die Arbeit besteht aus zwei Teilen, einem theoretischen und literarhistorischen und einemanalytischen Teil. Das erste Kapitel bringt die Informationen bezüglich der Epoche des Expressionismus. Es werden die philosophischen und ideologischen Konzepte dargestellt, die zum besseren Verständnis des expressionistischen Schaffens verhelfen sollten. Anschließend wird die Rolle der Körperlichkeit sowie der Begriff des Ausdrucks vom psychoanalytischen Hintergrund erläutert. Da die expressionistische Bewegung von theoretischen Programmerklärungen begleitet wird, widmet sich das fünfte Kapitel ihrer Analyse. Es werden zwei theoretische Schriften untersucht: „An Romanautoren und ihre Kritiker. Berliner Programm” von Alfred Döblin und „Über den dichterischen Expressionismus” von Kasimir Edschmid. Im Hauptteil der Arbeit wird der Versuch unternommen, zwei Erzählungen dieser Autoren in Bezug auf die Körperlichkeit hin zu analysieren. .Schlussfolgerungen runden diese Arbeit ab. Ihnen folgen das Literaturverzeichnis und die polnische Zusammenfassung der Arbeit.Die literarischen Werke in der vorliegenden Arbeit wurden mit Rücksicht auf den literaturgeschlichen Kontext behandelt. Damit der Sinn der Texte nachvollzogen wird, stellte es sich als unerlässlich heraus, den philosophischen und kulturellen Kontext zu umreißen, der die Epoche des Expressionismus prägte. Da eine hohe literarische Qualität die theoretischen Schriften des Expressionismus auszeichnet, galt es auch zu entschlüsseln, was für Forderungen für literarische Praxis die jeweiligen Autoren zur Sprache bringen wollten. Die analysierte Erzählprosa weist auch eine hohe Komplexität aus, deswegen wurde bei ihrer Analyse hauptsächlich auf bereits vorhandene Interpretationen ausgewählter Literaturwissenschaftler zurückgegriffen. Auf dieser Basis wurde dann ein Versuch unternommen, die in der Erzählungen präsente Körperkonzepte zu veranschaulichen, sowie Bezüge zu der Programmatik zu finden. Zu allerletzt wurden die Realisierungen der Postulate der jeweiligen programmatischen Schriften in den Erzählungen sowie die Körperdarstellungen in beiden Erzählungen miteinander verglichen.
The title of this thesis is „The expression of characters’ corporeality, based on expressionist prose”. The work has been created as part of master seminar, which was about the analysis of literary work from poetologist perspective.The purpose of this thesis is the analysis of different ways of corporeality presentation and the research of its function based on chosen expressionist texts and its compatibility with expressionist texts from academic program.For the purpose of analysis, i chose two texts „An Romanautoren und ihre Kritiker. Berliner Programm” by Alfred Döblin and „Über den dichterischen Expressionismus” by Kasimira Edschmid . The texts presented as an example of short stories were : „Die Tänzerin und der Leib” written by Alfred Döblin and „Der Lazo” by Kasimir Edschmid.The master thesis is divided into teorethocal part, which concerns the history of literature and analytical part. The first chapter consists of basic information of expressionist era.In further chapters, the selected philosophical and psychological assumptions are presented. The thesis includes the describtion of Nitzsche’s and Bergson’s idea, regarding the philosophy of life and the purpose of corporeality in psychoanalysis, which was created by Freud. The next part of this work is devoted to analysis of the two mentioned theoretical programs of expressionism. The purpose of analysis was to present the main demands of the authors, in terms of literary practice. In the main part of this work, the selected narrative texts are analysized with particular emphasis on the presentation of corporeality and correlation with theoretical programs.The final chapter includes synthesis for analysis, in which short stories are compared with theoretical assumptions, as well as summary, comparison of ways of corporeality presentation and its role in narrative texts.The literary work presented in this master thesis are analyzed taking into account the context of era in which the work was created and cultural and philosophical context, which influenced the literature during expressionist era. Due to the complex nature of theoretical and narrative texts, the essential component of analysis was the usage of already existing interpretations of literary scholars, which were devoted to this particular topic. Based on the mentioned interpretations, the attempt of corporeality presentation has been made, present in analyzed short stories and the connections between theory and literary practice.
Celem pracy magisterskiej była analiza sposobów przedstawienia cielesności i zbadania jej funkcji w wybranych ekspresjonistycznych tekstach narracyjnych oraz ich zgodności z tekstami programowymi ekspresjonizmu.Do celów analizy zostały wybrane dwa teksty programowe: „An Romanautoren und ihre Kritiker. Berliner Programm” Alfreda Döblina oraz „Über den dichterischen Expressionismus” Kasimira Edschmida. Jako przykłady opowiadań posłużyły dwa teksty narracyjne: „Die Tänzerin und der Leib” autorstwa Alfreda Döblina oraz „Der Lazo” Kasimira Edschmida.Praca magisterska składa z części teoretycznej, dotyczącej historii literatury jak i części analitycznej. W pierwszym rozdziale znajdują się podstawowe informacje dotyczące epoki ekspresjonizmu. W następnych rozdziałach zostały przytoczone wybrane założenia z zakresu filozofii jaki i psychologii. Przedstawiona została myśl Nietzschego oraz Bergsona, dotycząca filozofii życia, oraz rola cielesności w psychoanalizie, której twórcą był Zygmunt Freud. Kolejna część pracy poświęcona została analizie dwóch wyżej wymienionych programów teoretycznych ekspresjonizmu. Ich analiza miała na celu wyodrębnienie podstawowych postulatów autorów, dotyczących praktyki literackiej. W głównej części pracy ma miejsce analiza wybranych tekstów narracyjnych autorów, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem sposobów ukazania w nich cielesności oraz korelacji z programami teoretycznymi. Na końcu pracy znajduje się synteza do analiz, gdzie miało miejsce porównanie opowiadań z teoretycznymi założeniami, jak i podsumowanie oraz porównanie sposobów przedstawienia cielesności, oraz jej roli w tekstach narracyjnych.Dzieła literackie w niniejszej pracy magisterskiej zostały analizowane z uwzględnieniem kontekstu epoki, w jakiej powstały, jak i kontekstu filozoficznego i kulturowego, mających wpływ na literaturę ekspresjonizmu. Ze względu na złożony charakter tekstów teoretycznych jak i tekstów narracyjnych, niezbędnym do analizy okazało się posłużenie się już istniejącymi interpretacjami literaturoznawców, poświęconych danej tematyce. Na ich podstawie została podjęta próba przedstawienia koncepcji cielesności, obecnych w analizowanych opowiadań oraz powiązań pomiędzy teorią a praktyką literacką.
