Opis:
The increasing demand for centralised power consumption in rural agriculture may result in low voltage and three-phase imbalance issues at the end of the distribution network. Furthermore, the extensive implementation of distributed photovoltaic (PV) systems may cause an imbalance between agricultural power load and PV output, exacerbating the issue of PV losses. In this paper, an optimal scheduling strategy for an integrated source-network-load-storage system is proposed to solve the above problems. The proposed strategy involves a dispatch model that includes PV power generation and energy storage, with the objective of maximising PV consumption and minimising operating costs. The PPO algorithm is finally employed to solve the cooperative optimisation model for source-grid-load-storage. The proposed scheduling strategy has been validated through examples, and the results demonstrate its effectiveness in ensuring the economic and safe operation of rural distribution networks.

Opis:
In this work we consider a problem from the field of power- and energy-aware scheduling, in which a set of batteries have to be charged in a minimum time. The formulated problem is to schedule independent and nonpreemptable jobs to minimize the schedule length, where each job requires some amount of power and consumes a certain amount of energy during its processing. We assume that the power demand of each job linearly decreases with time, as it is the case when Li-ion batteries are being charged. For the assumed job model we prove that each next job should be started as soon as the required amount of power is available. Basing on the proven theorem we formulate a procedure generating a minimum-length schedule for an assumed order of jobs. We also analyze the case of identical jobs, and show some interesting properties of this case.

Opis:
This paper reports a new multi-item planning and scheduling problem in a job-shop production system with the consideration of energy consumption. A mixed integer linear programming is proposed to integrate planning and scheduling with the consideration of energy aspect. In this study a new operational constraint is considered in the tactical level because of the huge interest given to energy consumption and its strong link existing with production system. To evaluate the performance of this model, computational experiments are presented, and numerical results are given using the software CPLEX and then discussed.

Opis:
The increase of renewable non-programmable production and the necessity to locally self-consume the produced energy led to utilize ever more storage systems. To correctly utilize storage systems, an opportune management method has to be utilized. This paper implements a multi-period management method for storage systems, using different management strategies. The method aims to minimize the total absorbed and supplied energy or the peak power exchanged with the grid. The results show the effectiveness of the method in diminishing the energy exchanged with the grid and also the possibility to optimize the performance of the storage systems.

Opis:
Wireless Sensor networks are widely adopt in military, target tracking, signal processing and monitoring applications like traffic and structural, the small and low cost unreliable sensor nodes in these applications uses batteries as the sole energy source. The energy efficiency becomes difficult task as the tiny and less weight battery act as source of each node. Scheduling the different category of data packets is a way to reduce the power consumption and increasing the lifetime of sensor nodes. The existing scheduling algorithms are not adapted to the environment changes. The basic FCFS (First Come First Serve) suffered by long delay while transmit the real time data packets. In DMP (Dynamic Multilevel Priority) real time data packets occupies highest priority, the remaining non real time data packets sent to lower priority level queues. Some real time task holds the resources for longer time, the other task have to wait, it makes the deadlock condition. The NJN (Nearest Job Next) will select the nearest requesting sensor node for service, real time packets have to wait long time. The proposed Adaptive weighted scheduling scheme changes the behavior of the network queue by adaptively changes the weights based on network traffic. Simulation results proof that, adaptive weighted scheduling algorithm works better than the FCFS and DMP data scheduling in terms of energy consumption and lifetime. Our future scheme to integrate Internet of Things (IoT) with the WSN to increase the performance of the wireless networks.

Opis:
This paper introduces a method that combines the K-means clustering genetic algorithm (GA) and Lempel-Ziv-Welch (LZW) compression techniques to enhance the efficiency of data aggregation in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). The main goal of this research is to reduce energy consumption, improve network scalability, and enhance data aggregation accuracy. Additionally, the GA technique is employed to optimize the cluster formation process by selecting the cluster heads, while LZW compresses aggregated data to reduce transmission overhead. To further optimize network traffic, scheduling mechanisms are introduced that contribute to packets being transmitted from sensors to cluster heads. The findings of this study will contribute to advancing packet scheduling mechanisms for data aggregation in WSNs in order to reduce the number of packets from sensors to cluster heads. Simulation results confirm the system's effectiveness compared to other compression methods and non-compression scenarios relied upon in LEACH, M-LEACH, multi-hop LEACH, and sLEACH approaches.

Opis:
Demand side response enables cost optimization for energy systems and industrial consumers. In many countries, it is not widely used because of implementation complexity. One of the solutions for applying demand side response is industrial process scheduling according to the energy market needs. From the energy system point of view, process scheduling implies load scheduling. The aim of this paper is to provide a solution for load scheduling by implementing value stream mapping, which is a straightforward enough for production management. Decision makers in the industry should have a clear understanding about positive effect from load scheduling and its effect to production outcome and process availability. Value stream mapping is a well-known process optimization tool from lean production philosophy. The aim of value stream mapping is to shorten the lead time of industrial processes and to reduce the intermediate stock amounts. By complementing value stream map with process energy intensity and energy stored in intermediate stocks, we can promote load scheduling possibilities. Our methodology provides a tool that is understandable and traceable for industry-minded decision makers. Finally, we present a real life test example for the new methodology, which is based on the production process of a district heating plant.
