Opis:: The present article investigates several elements of the microstructural level of Swahili bilingual dictionaries. The main emphasis is on the grammatical information, its content and presentation in the various dictionaries chosen for analy-sis. The other components of a dictionary entry analysed in-clude the headword, its citation form, and additionally the pronunciation, usage labels and etymological information not found in every dictionary. We investigate the many ways in which information can be presented to the user, influencing the user-friendliness of a given dictionary.

Opis:: The article discusses basic issues related to Polish anthroponomastic terms, their development and frequency, taking into account the variability of terminological units and the co-existence of native and foreign forms (usually Greek or Latin). It presents problems related to defining a term, determining its scope or (in particular cases) status, indicating preferred, permissible or non-recommend- ed variant forms, selection (reduction) of sub-terms, the existence of doublets with a grammatical number, acceptance or rejection of new terms, etc. In the text, among others, the following sources were used: the dictionary “Osnoven sistem i terminologija na slovenskata onomastika” [“Basic system and terminology of Slavic onomastics”] (1983), an article by Mieczysław Karaś “W sprawie polskiej terminologii onomastycznej” [“On Polish onomastic terminology”] (1968), studies by Henryk Górnowicz (1988) and Ewa Jakus-Borkowa (1987), encyclopedia “Polskie nazwy własne” [“Polish proper names”] (1998), the compendium “Słowiańska onomastyka” [“Slavic onomastics”] (2002–2003) and selected articles published in the journal “Onomastica”.The second part of the article presents the history, scope and definitions of the term ethnonym // ethnic name (based on selected compendia, monographs and contributory studies), paying atten- tion to the types of names it covers. In addition, a preliminary structure of an entry in the terminological dictionary has been outlined, including such elements as: the term, its definition, variability // equivalent term, origin // explanation, its English equivalent, examples // usage, context of use, and additional aspects.

Opis:: The authors discuss the main premises of the project “The most popular surnames in Poland — past and present. E-dictionary” which has been in development since July 2014 in IJP PAN in Krakow. They also present its basic aims and functions, progress already made and they compare it with other dictionaries of surnames. The authors describe several aspects of the dictionary related to IT and computers but also those concerned with onomastics and lexicography. Additionally, they pay particular attention to the information contained in specific parts of each entry .

Opis:: The author probes the factors that influence the structure of service markets and describes the way in which they influence the operations of these markets. The paper presents selected factors of key importance to the structure of service markets. These include the nonmaterial nature and diversification of services, information asymmetry, natural and regulatory barriers to entry and the level of concentration. The last part of the article shows the influence of all these factors on the structure of selected service markets. The author argues that service markets have certain specific features that account for the existence of individual market models. Whether a specific segment of the service sector takes the form of an oligopoly, monopoly or perfect competition is determined by its specific features, including the differentiation of services, the nature of entry barriers, the existence of scale benefits and the level of concentration.

Opis:: The subject of this paper is to present a dictionary entry as a type of text. Dictionaries play an important role in assimilating a foreign language and are essential in the translation process as they are the source of lexical, grammatical and pragmatic information. Often, the user of a given dictionary cannot find the necessary information, which is why it is so important to understand and become familiar with how dictionaries are structured.This thesis aims to present a dictionary entry as a usable text, analyze its microstructure on the example of three expressions that represent different parts of speech, and compare them based on three monolingual dictionaries. It is worth emphasizing that dictionaries that are popular and widely available were selected for the purposes of this study.This paper is made up of two sections and is divided into main parts, i.e. theoretical and practical. The first theoretical section discusses the concepts of text that are relevant to this work. After defining the concept of text from the standpoint of individual linguists and describing the tasks of text linguistics, text functions were analyzed as well as problems such as text type, usable text and textuality criteria. The paper then goes on to present the concepts related to the word dictionary. Following the description of the relevant definitions and the differentiation between the dictionary and the lexicon, the former was characterized. The subsequent subsection deals with the communicative situation that affects foreign language learners and the dictionary’s macro- and microstructure. The last section of the paper, the practical one, presents dictionaries from which entries are derived, analyzed later in terms of graphic and content.The analysis of the entries in this paper demonstrates that the understanding and correct use of the information contained in them depends primarily on language competence, which means that in the case of an entry, it is possible to speak of usable text because it is understandable to all audiences. In conclusion, it is stated that the authors of dictionaries build them so that they are user-friendly, but this does not mean that dictionaries are made according to one scheme, but on the contrary, they present differences both in terms of graphics and the information contained therein.
Tematem niniejszej pracy jest ukazanie artykułu hasłowego w słowniku jako rodzaju tekstu. Słowniki odgrywają ważną rolę przy przyswajaniu języka obcego, oraz są niezbędne podczas procesu tłumaczenia tekstów, gdyż są one źródłem informacji leksykalnej, gramatycznej i pragmatycznej. Często zdarza się, że użytkownik danego słownika nie potrafi odszukać niezbędnych dla niego informacji, dlatego tak ważne jest aby zrozumieć i zaznajomić się ze strukturą słownika.Celem niniejszej pracy dyplomowej jest przedstawienie artykułu hasłowego w słowniku jako tekstu użytkowego, zanalizowanie jego mikrostruktury na przykładzie trzech haseł, które reprezentują różne części mowy oraz porównanie ich w oparciu o trzy monolingwalne słowniki. Warto podkreślić, że do celów pracy wybrano te słowniki, które cieszą się dużą popularnością oraz są ogólnie dostępne.Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów i dzieli się na dwie zasadnicze części, część teoretyczną i praktyczną. W pierwszym teoretycznym rozdziale opisano zagadnienia dotyczące pojęcia tekstu, które są istotne dla niniejszej pracy. Po przedstawieniu definicji pojęcia tekstu z punktu widzenia poszczególnych lingwistów oraz opisaniu zadań lingwistyki tekstu zanalizowano funkcje tekstu, oraz problemy, takie jak rodzaj tekstu, tekst użytkowy i kryteria tekstualności. W dalszej części pracy zostały wyjaśnione zagadnienia związane z pojęciem słownika. Po przedstawieniu istotnych definicji i zaprezentowaniu różnic między słownikiem a leksykonem scharakteryzowano słowniki. O roli słownika w procesie nauki języka obcego oraz makrostrukturze i mikrostrukturze słownika traktuje kolejny podrozdział. Ostatni rozdział pracy stanowiący część praktyczną poświęcony jest przedstawieniu słowników, z których pochodzą artykuły hasłowe analizowane w dalszej części pracy zarówno pod kątem strony graficznej jak i treściowej.Z analizy artykułów hasłowych w niniejszej pracy wynika, że zrozumienie i poprawne użycie informacji w nich zawarte, zależy przede wszystkim od kompetencji językowych, co oznacza, że w przypadku artykułu hasłowego można mówić o tekście użytkowym, gdyż jest on dla wszystkich odbiorców zrozumiały. Podsumowując stwierdza się, że autorzy słowników budują je tak, aby były przyjazne dla użytkownika, jednak nie świadczy to o tworzeniu słowników według jednego schematu, a wręcz przeciwnie, wykazują one różnice zarówno pod kątem strony graficznej jak i zawartych w nich informacji.
Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit gliedert sich grundsätzlich in zwei Teile: einen theoretischen und einen praktischen Teil und besteht aus drei Kapiteln. Dazu gehören auch: Inhaltsverzeichnis, Einführung, Schlussfolgerungen und Literaturverzeichnis. Das erste Kapitel befasst sich mit theoretischen Grundlagen, die die Definition und Funktionen des Begriffs Text angehen. Die Klärung des Begriffs Text hängt mit der Betrachtung der Textsorten, was im nächsten Unterkapitel dargestellt wird, zusammen. Einer der Textsorten, und nämlich dem Gebrauchstexte wird danach besonders viel Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt, weil die Frage nach ihrer Definition und dem Bestand offen bleibt. Im letzten Unterkapitel werden die Textualitätkriterien nach Dressler und de Beaugrande näher betrachtet.Das zweite Kapitel wird sich ähnlich wie das erste Kapitel der terminologischen Klärung widmen. Es werden die Begriffe der Wörterbuchforschung erläutert. Zu Beginn dieses Kapitels werden die definitorischen Bestimmungen des Begriffs Wörterbuch präsentiert und die Unterschiede zwischen Wörterbuch und Lexikon dargestellt. Im Weiteren werden die Arten und Typologie von Wörterbüchern angedeutet. Die Situation, in der die Benutzung der Wörterbücher von den Lernern notwendig ist, wird im Folgenden analysiert, weil ihre unkorrekte Anwendung Fehler voraussetzt. Am Ende des zweiten Kapitels werden die Makro-, Mikro- und Mediostruktur der Wörterbücher beschrieben.Im Fokus des dritten Kapitels der Diplomarbeit befinden sich die zu untersuchenden Wörterbücher. Das Objekt der Analyse, Wörterbuchartikel, wird als ein Gebrauchstext beschrieben. Im Folgenden werden die Wörterbuchartikel miteinander verglichen. Zu den Gegenständen dieser Analyse gehören Ausdrucksseite des Wörterbuchartikels, grammatische und stilistische Angaben, Phraseologismen und Wortfamilien.
