The most complete version of the questionnaire contained questions regarding approximately 130 species. One of the responses, by Antoni Szymański, is published here.

Opis:: In 1883, Józef Rostafinski (1850-1928), a botanist and professor at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków (then Austria-Hungary), produced a survey regarding the name and use of plants in the former Polish territories, which was printed in around 60 newspapers. The most complete version of the questionnaire contained questions regarding approximately 130 species. One of the responses, by Roman Gutwiński (1860-1932), is presented in this article. When Gutwiński responded to the survey, he was an assistant of Rostafiński at the Jagiellonian University.

Opis:: Józef Rostafinski (1850-1928), a botanist and professor at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków (then Austria-Hungary), announced in 1883 a survey regarding the name and use of plants in the Polish lands. The most complete version of the questionnaire contained questions regarding approximately 130 species. One of the responses, by Adam Woliński (1856-1901), concerning the area of Oporowo near Leszno (western Poland), is presented. When Woliński responded to the survey, he was an associate judge of a court in Berlin. One year later, he returned to Poznań permanently , where he practiced as a lawyer.

Opis:: Józef Rostafiński (1850-1928) was an eminent Polish naturalist of his time. Although his initial interest was in slime-moulds and algae, he soon turned his attention to the history of botany, to which he devoted most of his scientific work, eventually becoming one of its foremost authorities in Polish science. Among his many achievements, comprising 573 publications, some of them are devoted to folk knowledge of plants while some others to what these days would be classified as ethnobotany, i.e., research into the history of cultivated plants, the history of Polish vernacular botanical nomenclature and the origins of certain folk customs.

Thesis describes the nature of the use of medical plants in the Dynowskie foothills on the example of village Podbukowina Winne. The research material was collected by etnobotanic questionnaire. Presents the most important medical plants, user preferences, the degree of preservation of knowledge and traditional herbal medicines were compared with the use in official medicine.
