Opis:: The scheduling of orders and disposition of related rental articles in event logistics constitutes a complex and dynamic logistic problem. Varying venues, close temporal relations bet-ween consecutive events and additional effects, such as rush orders, thefts, damaged articles or misloadings, complicate the planning processes. Therefore, established planning and control sy-stems often reach their limits. The principle of autonomous control offers the potential to cope with these problems. This paper presents preliminary results from a research project that addresses the de-velopment of an autonomously controlled disposition system in event logistics based on soft-ware agents. At this, the focus lies on the design of the target process and the modelling of the corres-ponding logistic objects as autonomous agents within the system. A use case illustrates the proceeding.

Opis:: The disposition of rental articles constitutes a complex logistic problem. In general, those articles circulate in closed logistic systems and their order-oriented transport between different hubs within the network defines a variety of the Traveling-Salesman-Problem (TSP). As the complexity of this problem class grows with the number of parameters involved, resolving the TSP is a challenging task in daily business. This is especially the case in the field of event logistics, a business area, which extends the common problems related to rental articles with a dynamically changing logistic system. This paper addresses the application of methods from the field of autonomous control for the disposition of rental articles in event logistics with a special focus on the integration aspects. As information transparency is an indispensable requirement for the application of autonomous control, the provision of the corresponding hardware for identification, positioning and communication purposes is the first emphasis. The second is the design and integration of the related agent-based disposition software within the typical software landscape of a company. A small enterprise from the relevant business field serves as an example for the integration proceeding.

Opis:: The growth of demand for large sporting events caused that the process of organizing this type of events has become extremely complicated and toilsome. This is a result of rising public expectations with regard to participation in the mega events which are characterized by unpredictability, complication, and provides fans with a lot of emotions, sense of fulfillment, loyalty and satisfaction. Innovativeness and the using of logistics as a concept to optimize the processes associated with the gala are a key success factors according to sporting event which the author has analyzed and interpreted. The article contains an example of Euro 2012, as a large-scale sporting event that except economical benefits has promoted Poland as an attractive brand.

The use of the Internet and of the modern communication technologies in the event marketing

Opis:: The event marketing is an important tool of marketing communication. Its effectiveness nowadays depends on the professional prowess of the event organizers, and on their skillful use of the Internet and modern communication technologies. The purpose of this article is to analyze the applicability of the Internet and modern communication technologies in the process of the organization of selected types of events, and its exemplification in the area of marketing communication. The areas of the use of the event marketing in marketing communication are thus identified, as well as the elements of "meeting planning" method, which is an effective tool that supports professional event organizers. Then specific types of events, and the ways of using the Internet and modern communication technologies in the process of their organization are presented.
"Event marketing" to ważne narzędzie komunikacji marketingowej. O jego skuteczności decyduje profesjonalizm organizacji wydarzeń, w tym wykorzystanie internetu oraz nowoczesnych technologii komunikowania. Celem artykułu jest analiza możliwości zastosowania internetu i nowoczesnych technologii komunikowania w organizacji wybranych typów "eventów" oraz ich egzemplifikacja w obszarze komunikacji marketingowej. W artykule zidentyfikowano obszary zastosowania "event marketingu" w komunikacji marketingowej, a także założenia metodyki "meeting planning", będącej skutecznym narzędziem profesjonalnej organizacji "eventów". Omówiono wybrane typy wydarzeń oraz możliwości wykorzystania internetu i nowoczesnych technologii komunikowania w procesie ich organizacji.

Opis:: W pracy przedstawione zostają podstawowe informacje dotyczące festiwalu muzycznego wraz z umiejscowieniem go w kategorii imprez masowych. Ukazane zostają również podstawowe zasady, które muszą zostać spełnione, by dane przedsięwzięcie mogło być klasyfikowane jako festiwal. Następnie autor dokonuje prezentacji i interpretacji pojęcia system wsparcia logistycznego w znaczeniu ogólnym. Identyfikuje on również znaczenie wspomnianego systemu w procesie realizacji imprezy masowej o charakterze muzycznym. W dalszej części artykułu autor prezentuje festiwal muzyczny Open’er Festival w Gdyni, wraz z krótkim przybliżeniem jego historii. Celem artykułu jest także prezentacja wyników elektronicznego badania ankietowego zrealizowanego na grupie uczestników festiwalu. Pytania i udzielone na nie przez uczestników odpowiedzi skupiają się wokół logistycznych aspektów, które były obecne podczas ubiegłych edycji wydarzenia Open’er Festival. Badanie zostało przeprowadzone a jego wyniki opracowane w całości przez autora artykułu.
The paper presents basic information about a music festival along with its placement in the category of mass events. The basic principles that must be met for an event to be classified as a festival are also shown. The author then makes a presentation and interpretation of the concept of logistical support system in a general sense. The importance of the said system in the process of realization of a mass music event is also elaborated. In the following part of the article, the author presents the Open’er Festival music festiwal in Gdynia, along with a brief overview of its history. The purpose of the article is also to present the results of a survey conducted on a group of festival participants. The questions and their answers focus on the logistical aspects of the past editions of the Open’er Festival event. The survey was conducted and its results were compiled entirely by the author of the article.

Opis:: Logistics service providers offer a whole or partial logistics business service over a certain time period. Between such companies, the effectiveness of specific logistics services can vary. Logistics service providers seek the effective performance of logistics service. The purpose of this paper is to present a new approach for the evaluation of logistics service effectiveness, along with a specific computer system implementing the proposed approach - a sophisticated inference system, an extension of the Mamdani probabilistic fuzzy system. The paper presents specific knowledge concerning the relationships between effectiveness indicators in the form of fuzzy rules which contain marginal and conditional probabilities of fuzzy events. An inference diagram is also shown. A family of Yager’s parameterized t-norms is proposed as inference operators. It facilitates the optimization of system parameters and enables flexible adjustment of the system to empirical data. A case study was used to illustrate the new approach for the evaluation of logistics service effectiveness. The approach is demonstrated on logistics services in a logistics company. We deem the analysis of a probabilistic fuzzy knowledge base to be useful for the evaluation of effectiveness of logistics services in a logistics company over a given time period.

The principal objective of this publication is to present the role of selected logistic aspects connected with the organization of artistic-entertainment mass events. The subject-matter of this dissertation is principally relevant to the criteria of choosing the appropriate venue of the event, and also preparing an indispensable infrastructure, which is one of the crucial factors determining the safety and satisfaction of all participants in the event. The case study was conducted with the use of the example of Rzeszow Juwenalia, the largest student holiday organized in the South-East of Poland.

Opis:: Purpose: The aim of this paper is to present a new model for risk assessment of unfavorable interorganizational relationships, among other things, in ventures classified as corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects. Design/methodology/approach: Scenario analysis, brainstorm sessions, literature study and own observations of interorganizational projects were used to develop a list of unwanted events and factors determining their occurrence. In the proposed risk assessment model, fault tree analysis and fuzzy logic were applied for qualitative and quantitative risk analysis. Thanks to applying the elements of fuzzy sets theory, it was possible to decrease the uncertainty and lack of precision in obtaining crisp values of the basic events’ probability. Findings: In this work 13 basic events and 41 risk factors determining occurrence of unfavorable interorganizational relationships in ventures were identified and described. The proposed model enabled to carry out qualitative and quantitative risk assessment of unfavorable interorganizational relationships projects. Its practical application was shown in an example of interorganizational CSR project concerning the organization of a mass event, considering its logistics aspects. Research limitations/implications: It is necessary to involve experts in risk assessment. This could be overcome by applying machine learning in future research. Practical implications: The application of the proposed model allows to effectively identify the critical risks, which should be of particular attention during the risk treatment stage. It aims to give a helping hand to all managers and practitioners who want to deliver attainable and successful interorganizational projects, supporting meeting the expectation of the engaged stakeholders. Social implications: Socially responsible activities contribute to solving and counteracting social problems. Originality/value: A novel risk assessment model of unfavorable interorganizational relationships in which 13 basic events and 41 risk determinants were considered. The model was presented at ventures classified as Corporate Social Responsibility projects.
