Opis:
Artykuł dotyczy wyznaczników dorosłości oraz sposobów jej doświadczania. Badania zrealizowano za pomocą wywiadu swobodnego pogłębionego. Przebadano trzy kobiety pochodzące z tej samej rodziny, reprezentujące trzy pokolenia. Sformułowano dwa problemy badawcze: Jakie są wyznaczniki dorosłości według badanych kobiet? oraz W jaki sposób badane kobiety doświadczały dorosłości? Kobiety, mimo że pochodziły z jednej rodziny, opisywały dorosłość i doświadczały jej raczej odmiennie. Wskazane trzy przypadki ilustrują proces dojrzewania emancypacji – w każdym z wywiadów widać jego inne oblicze.
The article concerns the determinants of adulthood and the ways of its experiencing. The research was carried out by in-depth interview. Three women from the same family, representing three generations were interviewed. Two research problems were formulated:What are the determinants of adulthood in women’sopinion? and In what way women experienced adulthood? Although they came from the same family, women described and experienced adulthood rather differently. Three indicated cases illustrate the maturation process of emancipation – in each of the interviews can be seen the other aspect of it.

Opis:
Young workers are the category of people who experience precarity and precariousness the most. This article explores the work experiences of the young precarious workers as an important component of constructing their social identity. It focuses on the problems with sense of professional identity, biographical sense of work experiences and the processes of transition to adulthood in the context of insecure earnings and permanent uncertainty. It also deals with the lack of control over time and future life plans and the alienation of work. As a consequence of precariousness, young people need to cope with traps of uncertainty, poverty and helplessness. The article is based on the analysis of biographical interviews with young people aged 18-30 years old in low-paid temporary jobs, low paid open-ended contracts, traineeships and the unemployed. The whole collection contains 70 interviews. The article focuses on ten cases which represent more general properties of work experiences. The analysis enables us to address emerging questions concerning the relationships between constructing biography and the experience of work and to formulate tentative conclusions from the ongoing research.

Opis:
The term “experience” is an ambiguous concept, both in the colloquial and scholarly language. One of the kinds of experience is religious experience that consists in man's immediate contact with religious reality. Understanding, feeling, intuition and personal, independent encounter with sacrum are essential elements of this experience. Sociologists distinguish several indexes of religious experience: feeling of nearness of God, emotional attachment to the Supreme Being, meaning of life, sense of security, aid in everyday life, aid in difficult situations, aid in the final hour of life. In the present article religious experience is analyzed with respect to the characteristics of the period of adulthood. It is the period of life that is interesting not only from the point of view of psychology, but also of religion and spirituality. It is in this period that we witness ultimate formation of one's identity, of integration of one's real and ideal ego, of a mature personality and of mature religiousness. Hence, it may be said that the quality and intensity of religious experience in this developmental period is especially interesting. The final part of the article has an empirical character, as it concerns studies of parents of children who are preparing for their First Holy Communion. It is worth stressing that this pastoral situation has a great significance not only for the children's religious life, but also for that of their parents'.

Opis:
The paper presents a draft model of the relationship between shame, treated as one of the self-conscious emotions, and the identity formation process. Two main concepts of shame have been discussed here: shame as an adaptive emotion, in line with the evolutionary approach, and as a maladaptive emotion (in contrast to guilt), according to cognitive attribution theory. The main thesis of this paper states that shame has an essential, both constructive and maladaptive, importance for identity development and that its effect is indirect as it works through the mechanisms of emotion regulation. The destructive and disrupting influence of shame is not an immanent feature of this emotion, but it is a consequence of malfunctioning mechanisms of shame regulation. The association of shame with identity formation relates to the exploration dimensions – exploration in breadth, exploration in depth and ruminative exploration, as well as to commitment making and identification with commitment.
