Methods cognitive linguistics, the logic analysis are applied. The author find out typological attributes of the dictionary and confirms high quality of V.I. Dalya’s Explanatory dictionary.

Opis:: It is necessary to divide the lemma in the academic explanatory dictionary into two parts in order to improve its quality. The Russian function word (source language) is introduced in the left with all lexicographic items. The right side (target language) of the dictionary entry contains necessary interpretation, litters, examples in the fixed accordance with the source language entry At the same time, the source Russian version will always be fixed, and the target language input can be filled in English, German, Spanish, French, Turkish or Polish translations respectively.
Для улучшения качественных характеристик словарной статьи учебного толкового словаря представляется целесообразным разделить ее на две части. В левой стороне (входной язык) помещается русское служебное слово со всем набором лексикографического инвентаря. Правая сторона (выходной язык) словарной статьи, в строгом соответствии с левой, дает необходимое толкование, пометы, примеры и прочее на иностранном языке. При этом «русская» левая часть всегда будет стандартной, а «инонациональная» часть может наполняться, соответственно, английским, немецким, испанским, французским, турецким или польским переводами.

Opis:: In this paper, the author puts forward the following general hypotheses as a starting point for further enquiry: 1. Definitions and sets of definitions are developed on the basis of the results of exploration of linguistic reality and therefore they constitute meta-statements about certain fragments of linguistic reality; 2. Various types of definitions emphasize different aspects of linguistic reality and examine the reality from different perspectives; 3. Definitions and sets of definitions constitute cognitive tools used in any research endeavour; 4. Definitions and sets of definitions enable one to verify consistency across various scientific concepts. With this general background in mind, the author poses a specific question, namely whether it is possible to, first, synthesize various types of definitions and, second, to introduce such a synthetic definition into a new explanatory dictionary of the Polish language. The author argues that the proposed synthetic definition should be based on classical (taxonomic) definitions, cognitive definitions (used extensively by ethno- linguists), and contextual definitions. Also, the synthesis of three types of data, that is, systemic, textual and survey data, should provide a resource base for the development of the synthetic definition. The author argues that such a definition should be half-open, that is, it should include a set of features chosen by language users when performing particular speech acts. This way the synthetic definition is of dynamic character, which stands in stark contrast to static taxonomic definition.In short, this paper presents, first, a general framework for development of a synthetic definition, and, second, certain examples of definitions developed on the basis of the proposed framework.

Opis:: The aim of this article is to analyze the practice of using of stylistic labels in modern Russian author (writer) dictionaries. It is shown that labels of this type as the main kind of markers of stylistic information characterize, first of all, the explanatory author dictionaries, which have a full corpus. In these dictionaries the set of the stylistic labels represents the selection from the available nomenclature of labels, which is supplemented by new labels. From the functional point of view, such labels are dual – on the one hand, they stylistically structure the author’s lexicon, on the other hand – they are the markers of certain features of his individual style. Among differential authorexplanatory dictionaries, such ones are separated, in which the stylistically painted specific massifs of lexicon are presented. The stylistic unity of such words defines redundancy of labels and therefore the application of special receptions in relation to them (for example, their transfer in a reference part of the dictionary entry) is used. Special attention is given to author registrative dictionaries (to concordances, frequency dictionaries), in which the structure complication is connected with using of stylistic labels. The research is based on the material of Russian author dictionaries published mainly at the beginning of the year 2000.

Opis:: Artykuł podejmuje próbę opracowania za pomocą nowoczesnych technologii zasobu leksykograficznego w oparciu o zdigitalizowaną wersję jednego z najważniejszych osiągnięć leksykografii bułgarskiej trzeciej ćwierci XX wieku – trzytomowego Słownika współczesnego bułgarskiego języka literackiego. Słownik, wydany w latach 1955–1959, odzwierciedla stan literackich norm językowych języka bułgarskiego z połowy ubiegłego wieku i pod wieloma względami stracił już na aktualności. Wymaga częściowej rewizji oraz unowocześnienia treści i dostosowania jej do współczesnych norm językowych. Artykuł wskazuje miejsce Słownika współczesnego bułgarskiego języka literackiego w historii leksykografii bułgarskiej, krótko przedstawia główne zasady jego tworzenia i specyfikę mikrostruktury, komentuje kwestie związane z konwersją tekstu drukowanego w elektroniczny zasób leksykograficzny, który może służyć nie tylko jako źródło informacji o semantyce i zastosowaniu głównej części współczesnego słownictwa bułgarskiego, ale także do celów badawczych.
Статията представя опит с помощта на съвременни технологии да се разработи лексикографски ресурс на базата на дигитализиран вариант на едно от най-значимите постижения на българската лексикография през третата четвърт на XX в. – тритомния „Речник на съвременния български книжовен език“. Речникът, издаден в периода 1955 – 1959 г., отразява състоянието на книжовноезиковите норми на българския език от средата на миналия век и в редица отношения вече е загубил актуалност. Това обуславя необходимостта от частично преработване и осъвременяване на неговото съдържание и привеждането му в съответствие със съвременните езикови норми. В статията се разкрива мястото на „Речник на съвременния български книжовен език” в историята на българската лексикография, представят се накратко основните принципи за съставянето на речника и особеностите на речниковата микроструктура, коментират се въпроси, свързани с преобразуването на печатното издание в електронен лексикографски ресурс, който може да намери приложение не само като източник на информация за семантиката и употребата на основната част от съвременната българска лексика, но и за изследователски цели.
The article presents the experience of a team of lexicographers from the Institute of the Bulgarian Language at the BAS using modern technologies to develop a lexicographic resource based on a digitized version of one of the most significant achievements of Bulgarian lexicography in the third quarter of the 20th century – the three-volume “Dictionary of the Modern Bulgarian Literary Language”. The Dictionary, published in the period 1955–1959, reflects the state of norms of the Bulgarian language from the middle of the last century. In a number of respects it has already lost relevance. This necessitates a partial revision and modernization of its content and bringing it into line with modern language norms. The article reveals the place of the “Dictionary of the Modern Bulgarian Literary Language” in the history of Bulgarian lexicography, briefly presents the main principles for compiling the dictionary and the peculiarities of the microstructure of the dictionary. It also comments on issues related to the conversion of the printed edition into an electronic lexicographic resource, which can be used not only as a source of information about the semantics and usage of the main part of the modern Bulgarian vocabulary, but also for research purposes.

Opis:: Artykuł przedstawia życiorys i spuściznę naukową Wiktora Prachowa. Będąc nauczycielem w gimnazjum w Mohylewie (1836-1839), a później dyrektorem szkoły szlacheckiej w Mścisławiu (1839-1848), Prachow zajmował się badaniem tekstów "Słowa o wyprawie Igora" i "Statutu Litewskiego" 1588r. oraz opracowaniem "Materiałów do Słownika objaśniającego języka rosyjskiego". Ze względu na przedwczesną śmierć autora prace te pozostały nie ukończone, co nie zmniejsza ich wartości – zwłaszcza jako wczesnych prób naukowego opracowania wymienionego materiału.
В статье освещается биография и представляется рукописное научное наследие В. И. Прахова. Будучи учителем в Губернской гимназии Могилева (1836-1839), а затем директором Дворянского училища в Мстиславле (1839-1848), В. Прахов занимался исследованием "Слова о полку Игореве", "Литовского Статута", а также составлял "Толковый словарь русского языка". Из-за ранней смерти автора эти работы остались незавершенными, что не уменьшает их ценности – особенно как ранних проб научного обращения к названному материалу.
The paper proposes a biography and a description of the academic legacy (in the form of a manuscript) of V. I. Prakhov. Working as a teacher of the Mogilev Province Gymnasium (1836 – 1939) and later as the Director of the Noble High School in Mstislavl (1839 – 1848), V. Prakhov started research on The Tale of Igor’s Campaign, The Lithuanian Statute, and worked on An Explanatory Dictionary of the Russian Language. Although these works remained unfinished following their author’s premature death, this does not diminish their value, especially as that of the first scientific probe into the material.
