Opis:
Workplace innovation enables the development and improvement of products, processes and services leading simultaneously to improvement in organisational performance. This study has the purpose of examining the factor structure of workplace innovation. Survey data, extracted from the 2014 APS employee census, comprising 3,125 engineering professionals in the Commonwealth of Australia’s departments were analysed using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). EFA returned a two-factor structure explaining 69.1% of the variance of the construct. CFA revealed that a two-factor structure was indicated as a validated model (GFI = 0.98, AGFI = 0.95, RMSEA = 0.08, RMR = 0.02, IFI = 0.98, NFI = 0.98, CFI = 0.98, and TLI = 0.96). Both factors showed good reliability of the scale (Individual creativity: α = 0.83, CR = 0.86, and AVE = 0.62; Team Innovation: α = 0.82, CR = 0.88, and AVE = 0.61). These results confirm that the two factors extracted for characterising workplace innovation included individual creativity and team innovation.

Aim of the study: Identification of factors which determine effective communication between a doctor and a patient. Development of a tool for the evaluation of doctors’ skills of breaking bad news to patients’ relatives. Material and methods: The study was conducted with the survey method, and covered a group of 94 doctors of medicine from three hospitals in the Małopolska region in Poland. The Breaking Bad News Skills questionnaire, developed by Wioletta Szwed-Łopata and Jakub Lickiewicz, describes a doctor’s behaviour in contact with a patient’s family. Results: Exploratory factor analysis was conducted to establish the factor structure of Breaking Bad News Skills questionnaire. The scree plot was used prior to determining the number of factors. Internal consistency was evaluated with Kaiser–Meyer–Olkin (KMO) measure, which should be above 0.6, and Bartlett’s test of sphericity. The factor analysis identified five factors referring to the most characteristic types of doctors’ behaviour. These are: Communication (COM), Emotional Barriers (EMO), Partnership (PAR), Support (SUP) as well as Empathy and Compassion (EMP). The first of the constructed factors (8 items) focuses on statements concerning a doctor’s communication with a patient (COM), while the second factor (8 items) pertains to statements connected with the emotional context of breaking bad news by the physician (EMO). Next factor (5 items) includes statements about partnership (PAR). The fourth factor (5 items) concerns the ability to build a supportive environment (SUP). The last factor (8 items) comprises statements concerning partnership, refers to building a supportive environment and the doctor’ s empathy and compassion (SUP). Conclusions: Results of the Breaking Bad News Skills tool analyses indicate that it should be recommended for further scientific research and used in many areas of psychological and social practice.
Celem pracy jest identyfikacja czynników determinujących efektywną komunikację pomiędzy lekarzem i pacjentem, a także stworzenie narzędzia oceniającego umiejętności lekarzy w zakresie przekazywania złych wiadomości rodzinie pacjenta. Materiał i metody: W badaniu zastosowano metody kwestionariuszowe w grupie 94 lekarzy z trzech szpitali w Małopolsce. Kwestionariusz Przekazywania Złych Wiadomości (Breaking Bad News Skills, BBNS), autorstwa Wioletty Szwed-Łopaty i Jakuba Lickiewicza, opisuje zachowanie lekarza w kontakcie z rodziną pacjenta. Wyniki: W celu określenia struktury czynników Kwestionariusza Przekazywania Złych Wiadomości zastosowano eksploracyjną analizę czynnikową. Do określenia liczby czynników użyto kryterium wykresu osypiska.

Teaching, community involvement, and conducting research are the three functions of higher education institutions (HEIs). This exploration aims to develop constructs of instructors’ engagement or non-engagement in research as basis for developing a training framework. This study employed exploratory factor analysis. Eighty-four (84) instructors answered the questionnaires. The findings revealed four (4) factors of instructors’ research engagement: administrative support, recognition and promotion, motivation, and institutional requirement. It further showed instructors’ non-engagement in research could be due to four (4) factors such as time constraints, lack of experience and training, financial limitation, and lack of motivation. The scales have copious sampling adequacy and a high level of reliability. The instruments can be useful in assessing the level of instructors’ engagement and non-engagement in research.

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), thus it is pursues to improve their performance to stay in the global competitive markets through adopting an efficient manufacturing systems, one of them is lean production (LP). LP is a continuous improvement philosophy that based on using various lean activities to improve enterprise performance by eliminating various type of waste. In this paper, a Lean Level Assessment Methodology is proposed which integrated Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) and Fuzzy Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (FTOPSIS) to identify level of importance of lean activities and assess the level of SMEs leanness concerning five dimensions of lean activities. SMEs lean activities have surveyed through a comprehensive literature review, where twenty six lean activities have identified as the most common SMEs activities that classifying into five lean dimensions. A questionnaire was developed to collect data related to the levels of adoption of these lean activities by SMEs using a triple Likert scale. EFA was used to extract the most influencing lean activities on SMEs leanness based on questionnaire data. FAHP was used to determine the weights and the level of importance of these lean activities, while FTOPSIS was employed to investigate and assess the level of SMEs’ leanness related to the five lean dimensions activities. The proposed methodology has applied in four Iraqi SMEs (A1, A2, A3, and A4) for producing healthy water and soft drink in Baghdad. The results have explained that only 19 lean activities are the most influencing on SMEs leanness. Efficient manager is an important lean activity that has 58.90% level of importance. Although the four Iraqi SMEs have approximately acceptable level of leanness related the five lean dimensions, there is variation in adoption these lean dimensions activities by SMEs. SMEs management should develop a continuous improvement strategy based on utilizing SMEs’ efforts and resources to improve activities of the weaker dimension for improving their competitiveness and ensuring sustainability in the rapidly changing business environment. One limitation of this paper is the difficulty in obtaining data related to lean activities and their performance through SMEs’ processes and activities.

Opis:
Conditional respect reflects a positive evaluation based on internalized normative assumptions (Reykowski). This evaluation may be operationalized in the form of verbal judgments, which enables the use of the questionnaire technique. The opinions on the conditions of gaining and losing respect for adults with disabilities, collected with the participation of 32 competent judges, enabled the development of a set of test items, indicating the dispositional orientation of conditional respect. The collected research material based on a sample of 323 respondents assessing the significance of various forms of disabled people’s activity to the increase or decrease in the respect they enjoy in social perception was subjected to exploratory factor analysis (with Varimax rotation). Scree plot analysis indicated the presence of two factors: the first one positive and the second one negative. A detailed examination of the items in the light of the theory of normative assumptions (Reykowski) revealed five categories: Individual Productivity, Individual and Collective Synergy (Factor I), as well as Individual Receptiveness and Antagonism (Factor II). The analysis of stability confirmed the repeatability of 29 items, and the internal consistency (Cronbach’s α) of the items for the identified categories of normative beliefs ranges from .73 to .83. Therefore, the CRPD-Q meets the basic validity and reliability criteria of the measurement of conditional respect for adults with disabilities – overall conditional respect and its various aspects. Finally, the instructions for estimating and interpreting the scores are presented and further challenges involved in the development of the measure are signaled.

This study scrutinizes India’s growing appeal as a tourist destination, accentuated by government initiatives and innovative tourism policies like the e-visa program, Incredible India Campaign 2.0 and digital advancements in the travel sector. With the diminishing impact of COVID-19, there is a noticeable surge in various forms of tourism – inbound, outbound and domestic. The primary focus is to understand the driving factors behind the choice of India as a destination for inbound tourists. This research delves into these motivations, providing a global perspective on India’s attractiveness. A mixed-method approach was employed, utilizing convenience sampling for data collection. The quantitative analysis was based on a survey, informed by a literature review, comprising 390 respondents from 10 diverse Indian destinations. Additionally, 25 qualitative interviews were conducted, aiming to enrich and triangulate the quantitative findings. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) revealed five predominant motivations among inbound tourists: culinary interests, spiritual pursuits, budget-consciousness, cultural curiosity and natural allure. These findings were substantiated through thematic analysis. The outcomes have significant practical ramifications for destination managers and tourism policy developers in India. By understanding these key motivators, they can devise targeted strategies for enhancing the appeal of India to these specific tourist segments. This study not only aids in refining tourism promotion efforts but also contributes to the academic discourse on tourist motivation offering a fresh international perspective on India’s image as a tourist destination.

Opis:
The situation in Ukraine caused by war since 2014 and the intensification of hostilities from 2022 have led many Ukrainian citizens to emigrate. Living in other countries requires the need to adapt to often different cultural conditions. Intercultural sensitivity is an important dimension of intercultural communication competence that determines if individuals effectively adjust to a new reality. This study aims to adapt the most widely used tool for measuring intercultural sensitivity, the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale (2000) by Chen and Starosta, to Ukrainian conditions. This article comprises a presentation of a Ukrainian version of the questionnaire for measuring cross-cultural sensitivity, along with its psychometric properties. The obtained results showed that Chen and Starosta’s five-factor model of intercultural sensitivity (IS) did not fit the Ukrainian cultural context. A confirmatory factor analysis of the previous adaptations of IS, showed that the best model for the present study was the Serbian model. Therefore, we created a four-factor IS model containing 15 items (α-Cronbach’s 0.841). These factors, along with the items included in the Ukrainian version of the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale, were based on the 24-item Intercultural Sensitivity Scale (ISS) formulated by Chen and Starosta. This study contains a proposal of an alternative model of the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale that is better suited to Ukrainian culture. The questionnaire with a key is attached to the article for other researchers to use in their studies.

Opis:
In this work, we integrated exploratory factor analysis (EFA) followed by structural equation modeling (SEM) to assess the work performance efficiency under the traffic noise environment for open shutter shopkeepers in the Indian urban context. 706 valid questionnaire responses by personal interviews in local language were collected from open shutter shopkeepers exposed to noise level (Leq) of 77 dBA for 12 to 14 hours daily. The questionnaire was prepared based on demographics, environmental conditions, and primary effects of noise pollution. Among which four common latent factors which summaries 17 questionnaire response items were obtained by exploratory factor analysis, which are “Impacts of noise” (IM), “Environmental conditions” (EC), “Personal characteristics” (PC) and “Work efficiency” (WE). The associations between the individual latent factors were studied by the structural equation model method in AMOS software. Validation of the constructed model was carried out by testing the proposed hypothesis as well as goodness-of-fit indices like Absolute fit, Incremental fit, and Parsimonious fit indices. The effect of specific latent factors derived on the work efficiency of shopkeepers in the noisy area was characterized by the path coefficients estimated in the SEM model. It was found that work performance efficiency (WE) was greatly influenced by the primary impacts of noise pollution like annoyance, stress, interference in spoken communication, which was associated with the latent factor “Impacts of noise” (IM) with a path coefficient of 0.931. The second latent factor “Environmental conditions” (EC), which was associated with parameters like ambient temperature and humidity, showed less path coefficient of 0.153. And lastly, a latent factor called “Personal characteristics” (PC) associated with age, experience, education, showed the least path coefficient of 0.05. The work efficiency of open shutter shopkeepers working in a highly noisy commercial area is profoundly affected by the prominent effects of noise pollution and least affected by ambient environmental conditions as well as their personal characteristics. The developed model clarified some casual relationships among complex systems in the study of noise exposure on individuals n tier 2 cities in the Indian context and may help other researchers to study of tier I and tier III cities.

Opis:
Factor analysis is a standard statistical technique for reducing data dimensionality, which is widely used in sociology, psychology, and demography. Also, financial and insurance institutions commonly use such a technique for marketing research. In recent years, factor analysis has been used, at the beginning rather diffidently, to analyse selected problems of business management, e.g. to troubleshoot consumer and company communication. There are some literature reports about the successful use of factor analysis in managing a company area. Nevertheless, the literature seems to lack examples with successful use of the method with a clear explanation of its rather difficult application in the field of competitiveness or potential company boost. The modest popularity of such a powerful technique in this particular field seems to be attributed mainly to the complexity of the method and its requirements concerning the data quantity. Besides, the factor analysis technique has great potential and can be used as an efficient tool to reduce the complexity of observed phenomenon or verify the accuracy of theoretical models. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to present a vast potential of factor analysis (both exploratory and confirmatory) applied to solve various problems in company management, especially related to competitiveness and market success. Two case studies covering the subject of business management are presented to illustrate the benefits of factor analysis application. The exploratory factor analysis is exemplified by the search of factors related to the commercial success of the company, while the confirmatory technique is illustrated by a case study of the intellectual capital of the company and its factors related to competitiveness. The paper also presents the essence of the factor analysis, types of analysis, subsequent procedures, purposes, and its specific features. Finally, the applicability of the factor analysis to solve management issues and possible gain in management are discussed.

Opis:
Despite all the progress that has been made in research on language learning strategies since the publication of Rubin’s (1975) seminal paper on good language learners, there are areas that have been neglected by strategy experts. Perhaps the most blatant manifestation of this neglect is the paucity of research into grammar learning strategies (GLS). The main premise of this paper is that for such research to gain momentum, it is to necessary to create valid and reliable data collection instruments that would enable tapping the use of different types of GLS. In line with this reasoning, the article reports a study that aimed to determine the psychometric properties of the Grammar Learning Strategy Inventory (GLSI), a tool constructed by Pawlak (2009b, 2013) on the basis of his classification of strategies for learning grammar in a second or foreign language. Exploratory factor analysis was also employed with the purpose of uncovering the underlying structure of strategic learning of grammar. The analysis provided evidence for largely satisfactory validity and reliability of the GLSI, indicating at the same time there is room for improvement, with concrete changes being possible after the instrument has been tested with a much larger sample.

Opis:
Vaccine hesitancy has become a pivotal consideration in assessing society’s readiness to accept recommended vaccination programs. The role of vaccination as a preventive measure during great epidemic challenges cannot be overestimated. On the other hand, the overwhelming flow of misinformation and attitudes resulting from denialism may have a profoundly harmful effect on the acceptance of preventive interventions. The adult Vaccine Hesitancy Scale (aVHS) is a result of efforts to develop a tool that will be relevant to the views about vaccination in the general adult population. It was derived from the Vaccine Hesitancy Scale (VHS), initially developed by researchers attempting to assess the opinions and attitudes of parents. This study’s main aim was to determine the reliability and validity of the Polish version of aVHS (PL-aVHS). We have also analyzed whether the scale can feasibly predict the COVID-19 vaccination status of respondents. The analysis was performed on data originating from a computer-based web-interviewing (CAWI) survey of 2008 adult Internet users. It included the analysis of internal consistency, test-retest reliability, and hypotheses testing. Exploratory (EFA) and confirmatory factor analyses (CFA) were performed on the subsets generated by randomly splitting the initial survey data. We have found that the scale has excellent internal consistency (Cronbach α = 0.935), acceptable levels of inter-item bivariate correlations, and good test–retest reliability (interclass correlation coefficient, ICC = 0.843). The EFA revealed that the tool has a two-factor latent structure; however, similar loadings of item 10 to both factors spoke for its exclusion from the model. Two extracted factors were responsible for 68.90% of the variance after rotation based on the maximum likelihood method. The CFA showed that the best fit of the model to measurement data was obtained for the two-factor model after excluding item 10. All seven fit indexes calculated in the analysis suggested at least an acceptable fit. In conclusion, the assessment of the PL-aVHS revealed good reliability and validity of the instrument. Furthermore, we have obtained similar EFA results as reported for the English version of the tool. Finally, to our knowledge, it is one of a few tools available in Polish for the measurement of vaccine-related attitudes.

Indian SMEs are going to play pivotal role in transforming Indian economy and achieving double digit growth rate in near future. Performance of Indian SMEs is vital in making India as a most preferred manufacturing destination worldwide under India’s “Make in India Policy”. Current research was based on Indian automotive SMEs. Indian automotive SMEs must develop significant agile capability in order to remain competitive in highly uncertain global environment. One of the objectives of the research was to find various enablers of agility through literature survey. Thereafter questionnaire administered exploratory factor analysis was performed to extract various factors of agility relevant in Indian automotive SMEs environment. Multiple regression analysis was applied to assess the relative importance of these extracted factors. “Responsiveness” was the most important factor followed by “Ability to reconfigure”, “Ability to collaborate”, and “Competency”. Thereafter fuzzy logic bases algorithm was applied to assess the current level of agility of Indian automotive SMEs. It was found as “Slightly Agile”, which was the deviation from the targeted level of agility. Fuzzy ranking methodology facilitated the identification & criticalities of various barriers to agility, so that necessary measures can be taken to improve the current agility level of Indian automotive SMEs. The current research may helpful in finding; key enablers of agility, assessing the level of agility, and ranking of the various enablers of agility to point out the weak zone of agility so that subsequent corrective action may be taken in any industrial environment similar to India automotive SMEs.

Opis:
Leadership plays a vital role in building the process, structures, and climate for an organisation to become innovative and to motivate team expectations toward innovations. This study explores the leadership styles that engineers regard as significant for innovation in the public sector. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was conducted to identify the principal leadership styles influencing innovation in the Australian Public Service (APS), using survey data extracted from the 2014 APS employee census comprising 3 125 engineering professionals in Commonwealth of Australia departments. EFA returned a two-factor structure explaining 77.6% of the variance of the leadership for innovation construct. In this study, the results from the EFA provided a clear estimation of the factor structure of the measures for leadership for innovation. From the results, the two factors extracted were transformational leadership and consideration leadership. In transformational leadership, a leader values organisational objectives, inspires subordinates to perform, and motivates followers beyond expected levels of work standards. Consideration leadership refers to the degree to which a leader shows concern and expressions of support for subordinates, takes care of their welfare, treats members as equals, and displays warmth and approachability. These findings highlight the role of leadership as the most critical predictor when considering the degree to which subordinates strive for creativity and innovation. Both transformational and consideration leadership styles are recommended to be incorporated into management training and development programs. This study also recommends that Commonwealth departments recruit supervisors who have both of these leadership styles before implementing innovative projects.

In IHAR, Research Center Młochów during 2008–2009, eighty potato clones derived from the four tetraploid × diploid crosses were evaluated for 12 agronomic and tuber quality traits. The research objective was to examine the structure of multivariable variation. The first five axes of exploratory factor analysis (EFA) extracted 68% of the total variance among clones. Eigenvalues of the analyzed correlation matrix for these factors were above 1. The first factor (21.7% of total variance) was created by traits responsible for general appearance of tubers (shape regularity, depth of eyes, the frequency of tubers with the symptoms of secondary growth). The second factor (15.6% of total variance) was called a performance factor and was correlated with tuber yield, mean tuber weight and tuber flatness. The third factor (12.2% of total variance) called a suitability for processing was correlated with the two key processing traits: starch content and chip colour. The fourth factor (9.9% of total variance) was interpreted as tuber elongation since it was correlated with type of shape and the frequency of tubers with pointed ends. The fifth factor (8.5% of total variance) was correlated with the skin appearance. Multivariate structure of this variance gives a chance for selecting of valuable potato clones for: table use, processing into chips or dry-products and starch processing.

Opis:
This study reports on the validation of the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ), a self-report, Likert-scaled instrument, developed by Pintrich et al. (1991). The instrument consists of two sections, i.e., motivation in the process of self-regulated learning and the learning strategies of university students. The adaptation concerned only the first section, the learning strategies section was not part of the adaptation. The sample consisted of 284 students of the Faculty of Humanities at Tomas Bata University in Zlín (256 women and 28 men). The average age was 24, ranging from 19 to 49, with a standard deviation of 6.4 years. Within the adaptation of the MSLQ for the Czech educational environment, the exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, Cattell’s scree test and parallel Monte Carlo analysis were performed. As a result, a 3-factor model was generated. The motivation scales tap into three broad areas: (1) expectancy (represented by academic self-efficacy; 4 items), (2) value (represented by task value; 6 items), and (3) affect (represented by test anxiety; 7 items). The internal consistency (Alphas) of the subscales varies from 0.76 to 0.84. Significant correlation between Academic self-efficacy and Task value subscales was.377. The results correspond to the theoretical model.

Opis:
This study investigated the users’ assessment of affordable housing in developing cities among the residents of Ibadan urban centre. Affordable housing entails users having access to quality housing at reasonable prices, obtaining it, maintaining the ability to meet other basic costs of living and to stay in it without any problem in order to promote good health, accessibility, convenience and environment that is free from crime and violence. The study developed a theoretical model that links users’ assessment to the affordable housing. Questionnaire was developed and administered to 494 residents in the five local government areas within Ibadan. The data was analysed using statistical packages SPSS and AMOS version 22. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis techniques were applied to evaluate the users’ assessment of affordable housing. The structural equation modelling as the validated measuring tools was employed to validate the theoretical model. The finding indicated that detailed examination, assessment and critical reflection of users on their affordable housing is an important step towards designing policies to improve affordable housing that is accessible to users. The authors are of the opinion that strategies through the employment of suitable housing policy are needed to address the challenge of existing affordable housing in developing cities.
W toku badań zbadano ocenę tanich mieszkań w rozwijających się miastach wśród mieszkańców centrum miasta Ibadan. Tanie mieszkalnictwo dotyczy użytkowników mających dostęp do dobrych pod względem jakości mieszkań po rozsądnych cenach, otrzymanie ich, utrzymanie zdolności do pokrycia innych podstawowych kosztów życia i mieszkania bez żadnego problemu w celu promowania dobrego zdrowia, dostępności, wygody i środowiska, bez przestępczości i przemocy. W artykule opracowano model teoretyczny, który łączy ocenę użytkowników z przystępnymi warunkami mieszkaniowymi. Kwestionariusz został opracowany i przekazany 494. mieszkańcom w pięciu samorządowych obszarach w Ibadanie.

Trust is indicated as one of the main determinants of cooperation and a factor contributing to building successful and long-term supply chain relationships. However, the concept of trust is abstract and multidimensional, which means that it is difficult to measure, and the level of trust should be estimated taking into the consideration of many aspects at once. The main purpose of the paper was the identification of observable trust indicators in inter-organisational relations in construction supply chains, as well as factors closely related to trust and their observable indicators. The research was based on qualitative (focus group interview) and quantitative (230 computer assisted telephone interviews) studies conducted among construction companies. The study is the contribution to the area of research concerning trust in supply chains. The main result is the elaboration of scales that enable the measurement of inter-organisational trust and factors associated with trust.

Opis:
Aggression of patients and their families poses a serious problem in the work of medical personnel. Violence in relationships causes a number of psychological reactions of carers: from a sense of guilt through fear to anger and rage. A long-term effect is a decline in health care quality connected with occupational burnout of the personnel. The aim of the research was adaptation of the IMPACS scale: a tool for evaluation of the consequences of aggression towards nurses. The research covered 102 students of nursery. The research tool used in the research was adaptation of IMPACS scale. In order to obtain the scales of the Polish version of the tool, the exploratory factor analysis method was used. Two variants of the analysis results were demonstrated, i.e. with three and two factors. The study demonstrates the divergence between the original version and the one developed as a result of the present research. It means that the perception and consequences of aggression depend on the influence of culture and workplace.
Agresja pacjentów i ich rodzin stanowi poważny problem w pracy personelu medycznego. Agresja powoduje wiele psychologicznych reakcji: od poczucia winy przez lęk do złości i wściekłości. Efekt długofalowy stanowi pogorszenie jakości opieki zdrowotnej powiązane z wypaleniem zawodowym personelu. Celem pracy była adaptacja skali IMPACS, służącej do oceny konsekwencji agresji wobec pielęgniarek. Badaniem objęto 102 studentki III roku pielęgniarstwa. Narzędzie badawcze stanowiła adaptacja skali IMPACS. W celu uzyskania polskiej wersji narzędzia zastosowano metodę eksploracyjnej analizy czynnikowej. Przedstawiono dwa warianty analizy - trzy- i dwuczynnikowe. W badaniu wykazano różnice w rozbieżnościach pomiędzy oryginalną wersją skali i uzyskaną w badaniach.

Opis:
Subject and purpose of work: The aim of the article is to determine which elements of the transport infrastructure in a resort town are considered important by respondents in assessing tourist accessibility. The study focuses on economic and spatial aspects. Materials and methods: Exploratory factor analysis was used for the analysis, based on data collected through a CAWI questionnaire from a random sample of 1,000 Poles. Results: Four key areas of infrastructure were identified: general, bicycle transport, public transport, and amenities for people with disabilities. Conclusions: The transport accessibility of a resort town is largely determined by the quality of the general infrastructure. Tourists prefer individual transport, highlighting the importance of well-developed road infrastructure. Bicycle infrastructure and public transport also play significant roles, especially for tourists who prefer active and ecological means of transport. Amenities for people with disabilities are crucial for ensuring equal access to tourist attractions.

Opis:
The study conducted an exploratory factor analysis of the Willingness to Save Long Term Scale (WSL). It developed a set of 30 appropriate and homogeneous items on behavioural aspects of willingness to save long term. It also determined the reliability indices of the scale and established its factor structure. The study population comprised 232 students from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk. The outcome was subjected to Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) with oblimin rotation. The results of the EFA revealed that, with KMO > 0.8, the data were sufficient to undergo a factor analysis, while Bartlett’s test (p < 0.001) revealed a satisfactory EFA. The reliability coefficient Cronbach’s α was statistically significant (0.719), indicating a high degree of internal consistency. The study concluded that the WSL Scale instrument was valid and reliable for measuring the phenomenon of willingness to save long term from the behavioural perspective. The five factors revealed by the EFA could be used as a guide to better understand how the decision-making process to save for retirement works.
W artykule zaprezentowano eksploracyjną analizę czynnikową Skali Gotowości do Oszczędzania Długoterminowego (WSL). Autorski kwestionariusz zawierał 30 pytań dotyczących behawioralnych aspektów mierzących zjawisko gotowości do długoterminowego oszczędzania.

Opis:
Performance appraisal in human resource management is a function that evaluates employees’ knowledge, skills, and abilities in executing their job. To assess this appraisal, the employees’ key performance index (KPI) can be used. Recently, office politics has been indicated as an activity that may ruin employee-employer relationships and turn the office ecosystem unharmonious. The influence of organizational politics must be avoided during the performance appraisal process. This work depicted practical knowledge and theoretical gaps of the previous studies. Among them are leniency, straightness and stereotype behavior errors. This research was conducted to assess dimensions of organizational politics as one more error in the employee’s performance appraisal. The presented study considered a questionnaire directed to 274 officers and clerical staffs who were selected randomly through proportionate stratified sampling method in one of the Malaysian government financial sectors located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In total 271 questionnaires were returned and used in this study. This work employed Questionnaire of Political Considerations in Performance Appraisal by using robust statistical techniques for testing and validating the results. This study has successfully extracted three reliable dimensions of politics in performance appraisal, namely acquiring benefit, human relations, and control. In addition, this work developed a new conceptual model together with a dynamic and practical recommendation for top management in this field used to avoid the extant error factors.

Opis:
National art museums around the world are different from other museums – they are multidisciplinary institutions with priceless art collections that play vital role in preserving historical artefacts and stimulating people's interest in art and high culture. One of the biggest challenges facing museums today is attracting Generation Z. Therefore, the research aimed to identify the key factors that shape the image of national art museums among Generation Z. The research was conducted using both qualitative and quantitative research methods. In-depth interviews were conducted with marketing communication staff from seven national art museums in Poland, which led to the identification of 12 variables that shape a positive museum image. These variables were included in a questionnaire given to Gen Z representatives studying in art-related and non-art-related faculties. Exploratory factor analysis was used to identify the key factors contributing to a positive image of national art museums among these target groups.
Przeprowadzono pogłębione wywiady z pracownikami komunikacji marketingowej z siedmiu narodowych muzeów sztuki w Polsce, co doprowadziło do identyfikacji 12 zmiennych kształtujących pozytywny wizerunek muzeum. Zmienne te zostały uwzględnione w kwestionariuszu skierowanym do przedstawicieli pokolenia Z studiujących kierunki związane i niezwiązane ze sztuką. Eksploracyjna analiza czynnikowa została wykorzystana do zidentyfikowania kluczowych czynników wpływających na pozytywny wizerunek muzeów narodowych o profilu artystycznym wśród respondentów.

Opis:
Purpose: Diagnosis of the opportunities and threats associated with the introduction of the euro in Poland was the main focus of this study. The research had two main objectives: exploratory and operational. The exploratory objective was to capture the structure of convictions affecting Poles’ attitudes toward the introduction of the euro. The operational objective was to verify which of those convictions have the most influence on the lack of support for the introduction of the euro. Methodology: The research was conducted with a national random sample (n=509) of Polish citizens. The CAPI/ CASI face-to-face questionnaire was used. Findings: There exists a multi-level structure of attitudes towards the euro. The attitude toward the introduction of the euro is explained by attitudes toward the euro and the Polish zloty, perceived gains and losses from introduction of the euro and life attitudes. One cannot force another individual to support the introduction of the euro. However, one can act upon the convictions of the nation, which has a major impact on raising euro acceptance. The most impact is from strengthening of national beliefs, which strongly and positively affect the level of euro acceptance, whereas any reduction lowers the acceptance of the introduction of a new currency. Limitations: As any other social phenomena, money perception is very dynamic and dependent on current political and social issues. Therefore, despite the fact that the model seems to define the factors and their influence on euro perception very accurately, it is essential that every time it is applied, the current state of mind of the society is measured. Furthermore, additional research should be conducted for groups deviating from the average results for the society. Originality: The practical aspect of this research is the opportunity to point out convictions, which need to be modified to increase euro acceptance.
