Opis:
The paper presents selected issues of managing nutrients from natural fertilizers used in Polish agriculture. The analysis covered changes in the livestock population and stocking density, the number and share of farms using natural fertilization, fertilized area and the level of consumption of particular nutrients from manures. Spatial analysis was carried out at the level of voivodeships (NUTS-2) and concerned the determination of the amount of nutrient from natural fertilizers in 2017–2020. The presented results indicate that the level of stocking density has the greatest impact on regional differences in the management of natural fertilizers. This diversity is also manifested in the share of farms using natural fertilization in individual voivodeships. Natural fertilizers in Poland, mainly manure, are used on 27% of UAA in good agricultural and environmental condition (UAA in GAEC). The share of four voivodeships, ie Podlaskie, Wielkopolskie, Łódzkie and Mazowieckie, covers 55% of the total area fertilized with manures in the country. In the years 2017–2020, the average consumption of solid manure in the country was44.3 million t, poultry manure 0.9 million t, liquid manure8.0 million m3 and slurry 14.6 million m3. The highest intensity of natural fertilization was found in the Podlaskie voivodeship, the average consumption was 11.4 t ha-1 of all agricultural land, while in Poland the average consumption was estimated at4.6 t ha-1 of UAA in GAEC. The highest doses per fertilized area were applied in the Podlaskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Lubelskie, Lubuskie and Pomorskie voivodeships and it was directly related with the level of consumption of NPK from natural fertilizers in these voivodeships. In the analyzed period, the average doses of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium applied to the manures’ fertilized area in Poland were 87 kg N ha-1, 29 kg P2O5 ha-1,113 kg K2O ha-1, respectively. The highest nutrient consumption in natural fertilizers was observed in Podlaskie voivodeship. Based on the analyses, it can be concluded that the Podlaskie voivodeship is a leader in the intensity of natural fertilizer management in Poland.

Opis:
The paper presents the issue of nutrient management, such ingredients as N, P, K and Ca, in mineral and lime fertiliza-tion in the Polish agriculture. The analysis covered changes in the number and share of farms using mineral fertilization and the level of consumption of individual ingredients in mineral fertiliz-ers. The comparative analysis was based on individual farm data with 2007 and 2016 years. Spatial analysis was carried out at the level of voivodships (NUTS-2). The results indicated regional diversification in the management of mineral fertilisers. This dif-ferentiation is progressing, which was evidenced by the different pace of changes in the share of farms using mineral fertilization among voivodships. Nitrogen fertilizers are the most common type of mineral fertilizers, that was indicated by the number of farms applying this type of fertilizers. At the same time, lime fer-tilizers are very rarely used on individual farms. In this scope, there is also a wide, increasing regional diversity. According to the carried out analyses, the level of consumption of mineral fer-tilizers, especially nitrogen fertilizers in Poland, is mainly related to the intensity of crop production. The average fertilizer rates for Poland do not reflect the actual situation and changes in particu-lar voivodships. The consumption of mineral fertilizers is mainly dependent on the diversity of the area structure and the organiza-tional and economic level of agricultural holdings. The intensity of fertilization with fertilizing components increases simultane-ously with the size of agricultural holdings. This dependency is described by the second-degree polynomial equation. The highest doses of macronutrients in mineral fertilizers have been used for many years in south-western and western Poland, and the small-est, with a few exceptions, in the east of the country. The results of the studies indicate that organizational factors (related to the farms` area) are an equally strong determinant of the consump-tion of fertilizing components as well as the location of the farms (geographical, administrative).

Opis:
Understanding of P transformations following organic amendments addition to highly calcareous soils is necessary for developing better management practices that can help enhance P fertilizer use efficiency. Phosphorus solubility and availability for plant uptake under the conditions of arid calcareous soil is very low, making P nutrient supply a critical issue under these conditions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of various types of organic amendments (chicken compost, cow compost and a mixture of humic-fulvic acid) applied alone at different rates of KH2PO4 fertilizer on P fractions in calcareous soil using the sequential chemical extraction method. Amended calcareous soil was incubated under laboratory conditions and soil samples were collected at 0, 4, 8 and 16 weeks of the incubation periods. Soil was sequentially extracted and analyzed for P different fractions. The results indicated that the addition of chicken and cow compost increased soluble and exchangeable-P and Ca-P fractions in calcareous soil and the increases depend on application rates. The results indicated that combination of chicken and cow compost with different KH2PO4 fertilizer application rates increased the concentration of soluble and exchangeable-P in the soil compared to organic amendments or KH2PO4 fertilizer applied alone. The P associated with Ca was the dominant P fractions in soil, ranging between 51 to 59% regardless of the different treatment and the period of incubations. The Al- and Fe-associated P fractions varied between 2 and 9%, with the maximum value being observed at the eighth week of incubation. The residual-P fraction ranged between 5 and 22% at different incubation periods.

Opis:
Phosphite preparations are now an important alternative in plant protection against new, invasive pathogens of the genus Phytophthora and/or Pythium. It is crucial to intervene when alien, invasive oomycetes are carried to plantations or forest stands and attack fine roots via zoospores. The aim of this paper was to demonstrate the possibility of phosphite application to induce resistance to tree pathogens. Phosphate-based fertilizers have been used successfully in nurseries, where application is relatively easy by means of foliar sprays. The traditional fungicides, which are effective in combating fungi, however, fail to control oomycetes. Instead, they mask the disease, which, in turn, causes serious damage to seedlings after they have been planted in a suitable environment. Moreover, the number of effective fungicides available for forest plant protection has continued to decrease in the last decade. The effectiveness of the chemicals is reduced due to their frequent use and their similarity in terms of the active compound or the mechanism of action. Given the low diversity of active compounds, it is necessary to monitor the development of resistance of pathogens to fungicides by means of molecular biology (sequencing and quantitative PCR). Minimising the undesired side effects of chemicals on both, mycorrhizal fungi and pathogens can be achieved by strict adherence to rigorous security measures and, where possible, frequently changing the active compounds to alternatives such as phosphites. The significance of phosphate and phosphite uptake by trees is still a matter of debate, especially under field conditions. Nevertheless, phosphites are environmentally friendly compounds, which constitute an alternative or complement to the traditional chemicals (in accordance with the Directive on Integrated Plant management).

Opis:
W nawożeniu mineralno-naturalnym gnojówka bydlęca pokrywała potrzeby względem potasu, a azot i fosfor uzupełniano do pełnych dawek w powyżej podanych formach mineralnych.
The study was conducted based on the rigourous long-term experiment on the permanent meadow, immediately after its's renovation and after 15 years. The aim of this study was to determine the changes occurring in the soil richness in potassium, it's pH, species composition and management of potassium, calcium and magnesium in meadow sward. The experiment compared the effects of three levels of mineral fertilization on 120, 240 and 360 kg Nźha-1 levels and two levels of organic-mineral fertilization on 240 and 360 kg Nźha-1 levels. The ammonium nitrate, triple superphosphate and potassium salt was applied in mineral fertilization. The cattle slurry covered needs with the account of potassium in organic-mineral fertilization, nitrogen and phosphorus were filled up to full doses in above given mineral forms. Water deficiencies were supplemented through the irrigation on all objects. 15 years after the renovation a rise in the potassium content was found out in the higher soil layers and increasing the participation in meadow sward of short and middle grasses with cost of tall grasses on all objects, what was expressed with reducing yields. In spite of the increasing potassium content in the soil, its reduction in the meadow sward and the worsening ratio of K:(Ca and Mg) followed, attesting the decreasing fodder value.

Opis:
Owing to the rising costs of chemical fertilizers and the growing environmental concerns, there is an ever increasing interest in the role of soil microorganisms in crop nutrition and soil fertility restoration. A field study was therefore conducted at Pawe Agricultural Research Center during 2010 main cropping season to determine the influence of Bradyrhizobium japonicum inoculation and N and P fertilizers application on nodulation, yield and yield attributes of soybean. Three levels of N (0, 11.5 and 23 kg N ha-1); three levels of P (0, 23 and 46 kg P2O5 ha-1) with two levels of Rhizobium were arranged in RCBD in factorial combinations with three replications. Nodule number, nodule fresh and dry weights, plant height, number of pods and seeds per plant, 100 seeds weight and grain yield responded significantly to the interaction effects of B. japonicum inoculation and application of N and P fertilizers but nodule volume, seed and biomass yields, and harvest index were significantly affected by the main effects of any one or more of the factors and interaction of any two of the factors. The maximum numbers of nodules of 80.26, fresh and dry weights of 3.77 and 0.99 gm./plant respectively; were measured by combined effect of 11.5 kg N/ha, 46 kg P2O5/ha and B. japonicum. Similarly the highest nodule volume of 3.53 and 3.27 ml/plant were measured after applications of 46 kg P2O5/ha with B. japonicum and with 11.5 kg N/ha respectively. The highest plant heights of 79.26 cm followed by 76.94 cm were measured by application of 46 kg P2O5/ha with B. japonicum and 46 kg P2O5/ha itself respectively. Seed yield significantly increased to 11.91 gm /plant and 15.97 gm /plant following application of B. japonicum alone and 46 kg P2O5/ha with B. japonicum respectively. Applied 23 kg/ha brought the highest plant biomass of 27.25 gm/plant. Inoculation with 46 kg P2O5/ha and the combined effects of 11.5 kg N/ha, 46 kg P2O5/ha and B. japonicum resulted 73.93 and 80.66 number of pods per plant respectively. The maximum 100.60 numbers of seeds per plant were counted during inoculation of B. japonicum with 46 kg P2O5/ha. The maximum 100-seed weight of 16.96 gm and grain yield of 3151.88 kg/ha were produced by combined application of 11.5 kg N/ha, 46 kg P2O5/ha and B. japonicum. Each nodule attributes were significantly and positively correlated each other and with each yield and yield attributes. The results showed that growth and yield potential of soybean and an increase N2 fixing can be achieved by using B. japonicum and P fertilizer with reduced level of N as starter fertilizer.

Opis:
Mineral fertilizers are indispensable for the intensification of plant production in agriculture. This process can cause a significant odour nuisance for the environment due to organic compounds content in apatites and phosphorites converted into fertilizers. The following chemical compounds are emitted to the gas phase among others: hydrogen sulphide, organic sulphides and (methyl, ethyl, isopropyl, butyl) disulphides, chain hydrocarbons, organic oils, waxes and carboxylic acids. A method using gas chromatography analysis with the mass detector (TD-GS-MS), to determine trace concentrations, was developed and tested for the assessment of odour nuisant substances emission from these processes. Application of additional thermal desorber to enable the intense desorption of the investigated organic compounds (previously adsorbed on classical sorbents) in the industrial research has been taken into consideration. In effect it facilitates the accumulating substances to be analyzed at short time interval providing identifying measurements. The technique has been verified during the investigation of the substances emitted in fertilizers processes at Maroko phosphorite decomposition. The organic sulfur compounds, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons have been detected.
