Białowąs S., 2018, Subjective vs. objective assessment of financial literacy – do beliefs meet reality?, Rozprawy Ubezpieczeniowe - Konsument na rynku usług finansowych, 29(3), s. 27-36.
Opis:
This paper investigates the problem of financial literacy, which is analysed from two perspectives. The first is the knowledge about saving and loans, and the other – the relations between subjective knowledge (SK) and objective knowledge (OK) and their impact on financial decisions. The analyses were made on the basis of quantitative studies conducted using the structured face-to-face interviews method. The sample consisted of 438 persons from Wielkopolska (Poland). The results suggest that there is a higher differentiation of knowledge about saving compared with the knowledge about loans and an in general slightly higher level of knowledge about loans. The research confirms significant relations between chosen financial behaviours (being experienced or unexperienced) and the level of SK and OK. The greater differences were measured for SK. The study also featured a group of respondents who self-assess their knowledge on a level close to their objective knowledge, as well as those who overestimate and those who underestimate it. These segments were described taking into account demographic and economic features.

Opis:
The principal objective of this review is to determine whether the conducted studies provide a diagnosis of Poles’ financial literacy and of financial education efforts undertaken in Poland. To make this evaluation, we first analysed the issues, which the studies are focused on and presented their key results synthetically. We further analysed which groups participate in these studies and what institutions commission such research. The summary, in addition to conclusions resulting from the considerations presented, offered initial recommendations which, if implemented, could contribute to better verification of Poles’ financial literacy and knowledge in empirical studies. The authors first reviewed the literature, which resulted in defining conceptual boundaries of terms critical to the topic of this paper. The core research material consisted of selected reports from studies of financial literacy and education of Poles and an analysis of those studies.

Opis:
The purpose of the article. This paper attempts to reveal the effect of the study by visually presenting the analysis of the studies on the concept of "financial literacy". Methodology. Bibliometric analysis of the studies published in the Web of Science (WOS) database between 1991 and 2023 was analyzed with the VOSviewer (Version 1.6.9) package program. Since the title, content, and keyword of the concept of "financial literacy" were intended to be scanned in all languages and all publication types, 2,889 works were accessed and analyzed. The limitations of the study are that only the studies in WOS are analyzed. No data from Scopus and PubMed databases has been included. For future studies, research from the Scopus and PubMed databases should be added. Results of the research. When the most frequently included keywords in the publications related to the concept of "financial literacy" have a relationship between them at least twice in the study, the keywords "financial literacy" with 825 repetitions in terms of 1841 total connection strength, "financial education" with 111 repetitions in terms of 315 total connection strength, "financial behavior" with 65 repetitions in terms of 217 total connection strength and "financial knowledge" with 71 repetitions in terms of 213 total connection power are seen. As a result of the analysis performed, it was determined that there were 2265 connection powers and 4069 total connection powers for a total of 36 clusters. When we look at the year-by-year distribution, the most works were published in 2022 with a maximum of 426 works. At least one work was published in 2004, 2003, 1998, 1994 and 1991. Among the published studies, journal article 2,515, proceedings paper 280, early access 135, book chapters 101, review article 68, editorial material 29, correction 6, book 5, book review 3 were determined as works. When we look at the languages in which the published works are published, they are in English with a maximum of 2,814 works. At least two works are in French and Chinese. In order to determine the year-based stratification status of the published studies for country-based citations, it was noted that a country should have at least 1 study published and at least 1 citation obtained. As a result of the analysis, analysis was carried out on 78 observation units that were found to have a relationship between them, and it was determined that there were 14 clusters, 1065 connection power and 9417 total connection power. The countries with the most citations are the USA (11981 citations), the Netherlands (2445 citations) and England (1685 citations). In terms of the number of works, the ranking is the USA (197 publications), China (77 publications), India (73 publications), and Australia (70 publications). When the stratification status of the citation ties of the countries on a yearly basis is examined, it is seen that they are limited between 2017 and 2021.

Opis:
Financial knowledge is an extremely important element not only of functioning and development, but more importantly of managing financial processes at local government level. Considering the progressing reforms of the national public finance system and the resulting consequences (legal, financial, as well as managerial) for shaping the financial management of the LGU’s, and also globalisation processes and the dynamic development of the financial services’ market, it is natural to require managers of the local government subsector of public finance to have thorough financial knowledge - current and interdisciplinary knowledge that would most importantly be reliable and practice-based. Constant changes of regulations, growing demands in budget management, progressing restrictions as concerns LGUs’ debt-raising capacity require not only current, “static” financial knowledge expected when executing statutory tasks, but also “dynamic” knowledge based on strategic planning, i.e. knowledge based on modern financial instruments.

The aim of this article is to assess the students’ knowledge on financial products, they use or they are going to use, taking into account this knowledge sources. The analysis was based on the research carried out on the sample group of students of selected seven universities in Lublin. The method used were simple statistical measures as collected data disabled usage of the regression model.

Opis:
Economic and financial socialisation is essential for building a person’s confidence in managing finances independently and fostering financial self-sufficiency. The growing complexity of the financial environment, marked by market globalisation, digital transformation and accessibility of sophisticated financial products, creates unprecedented challenges for individual financial decision-making. This situation is further complicated by generational changes and challenges such as underperforming pension systems, making research on economic and financial socialisation particularly relevant and timely. The aim of this article is to review research on economic and financial socialisation, enabling a comprehensive mapping of existing studies and the identification of key topics and underexplored areas that may guide future studies. Conclusions are drawn from a quantified bibliometric analysis of articles from the Scopus database, supplemented by an in-depth content analysis of purposefully selected scientific works. The analysis was conducted using the R environment, specifically the Bibliometrix package and the Biblioshiny functionality. The findings map the status and developments of the research existing in the field, indicating also a need for further research into the impact of economic and financial socialisation on a broad spectrum of financial decision-making in adulthood.
