Opis:: The paper discusses plant breeding in the flats of the Warsaw Housing Cooperative during the interwar period. The author analyses the articles offering advice on potted plants, raising the issue of greenery in the estates and the importance of nature in the lives of residents of urban estates, and attempts to reconstruct various meanings attributed to potted plants, practices associated with them and the ways in which they became part of a larger modernization and educational project.

Opis:: Druga połowa XIX wieku dla Krakowa okazała się bardzo korzystna. Zmiany cywilizacyjne zapoczątkowane utworzeniem w mieście samorządu wpłynęły na poziom życia krakowian. W tym okresie przemianom ulegał również dom krakowski, na który wpływał postęp techniczny, rozwój infrastruktury sanitarnej, a także zmieniające się gusta i przyzwyczajenia jego domowników. Niniejsza praca jest próbą przedstawienia wyglądu mieszkania różnych grup społecznych miasta w drugiej połowie XIX i na początku XX wieku. Praca składa się z czterech rozdziałów ułożonych w porządku tematycznym. Rozdział pierwszy to krótkie przedstawienie sytuacji miasta w okresie autonomii galicyjskiej oraz opis najważniejszych inwestycji zrealizowanych przez samorząd miejski. Rozdział drugi przybliża społeczeństwo autonomicznego Krakowa z uwzględnieniem jego sytuacji majątkowej, zawodowej oraz wyznania religijnego. Rozdział trzeci obrazuje architekturę, sytuację budownictwa mieszkaniowego miasta, opisuje wygląd oraz funkcje najważniejszych domowych pomieszczeń, takich jak salon, kuchnia oraz łazienka. Aneks przybliża świat produktów z reklam zamieszczanych w prasie krakowskiej i Kalendarzu Józefa Czecha od lat sześćdziesiątych XIX wieku od początku XX wieku.
The second half of the 19th century turned out to be very beneficial for Krakow. Civilization breakthroughs, initiated by establishment of a self-government in the city, influenced the living standard of the Krakow residents. During this period, the Krakow home was changing too, under the influence of technological progress, development of sanitary infrastructure, as well as changeable tastes and habits of the household members. This study is an attempt to present the appearance of flats belonging to various social groups of the city in the second half of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century. This paper consists of four chapters, arranged thematically. The first chapter is a brief presentation of the city’s situation during the Galician autonomy period, as well as description of the most important investments carried out by the municipal government. The second chapter outlines the society of the autonomous Krakow, taking into consideration their financial and professional situation, as well as denomination. Chapter three depicts architecture, residential housing situation, it also describes the appearance and function of the most important rooms, such as the living room, kitchen and bathroom. Annex outlines the world of products from advertisements featured in the Krakow press and in the Jozef Czech Calendar between the 1860s and the beginning of the 20th century.

Opis:: In the paper we compute the virtual dimension (defined by the Hilbert polynomial) of a space of hypersurfaces of given degree containing s codimension 2 general linear subspaces in Pn. We use Veneroni maps to find a family of unexpected hypersurfaces (in the style of B. Harbourne, J. Migliore, U. Nagel, Z. Teitler) and rigorously prove and extend examples presented in the paper by B. Harbourne, J. Migliore and H. Tutaj-Gasińska.

Opis:: W pracy omówiono metody identyfikacji kierunków krystalograficznych w celu wyznaczania ścięć bazowych na płytkach monokryształów grupy materiałowej AIIIBV. Przedstawiono porównawcze wyniki otrzymane z wykorzystaniem różnych metod selektywnego trawienia. Określono przydatność poszczególnych metod do wyznaczania ścięć bazowych na płytkach monokryształów bezdyslokacyjnych. Dla monokrystalicznych płytek InAs opracowano technikę określania kierunków krystalograficznych z zastosowaniem masek tlenkowych.
The methods used for determination of the crystallographic orientation in order to make flats on wafers of III-V compounds are presented. The results of selective etching obtained by using various chemical solutions are compared. For dislocation - free InAs wafers, the technique based on using oxide masks have been implemented.

Opis:: A rare marine tardigrade Halobiotus crispae Kristensen, 1982 was found abundant in intertidal flats at Josephbukta, Bellsund fiord, West Spitsbergen. This is the first record of this species from the Svalbard Archipelago. So far, the species has been found only in seven other localities in the northern hemisphere (between 56$^{\circ}$ and 69$^{\circ}$N). The present record greatly extends the known geographical range to the north and also indicates a much wider distribution of the species than formerly reported. Moreover, a potential indicative character of this species and of the study area in monitoring climatic changes is discussed.

Opis:: Prywatyzacja lokali z zasobów gmin to jeden ze sposobów zaspokajania potrzeb mieszkaniowych obywateli. Jednak mimo wieloletnich doświadczeń samorządów proces ten wciąż nie przebiega prawidłowo. Najwyższa Izba Kontroli po raz kolejny przyjrzała się praktykom w 20 wybranych miastach. Nieprawidłowości stwierdzono aż w 19 z nich. Miały one charakter powszechny i systemowy, wynikały przede wszystkim z nieodpowiedniej organizacji pracy oraz błędnej interpretacji obowiązujących przepisów. Wyniki kontroli w dużej mierze stanowiły powtórzenie ustaleń z lat poprzednich – sformułowane wówczas wnioski NIK nie zostały wykonane.
One of constitutional responsibilities of pubic authorities is to follow a policy that meets the accommodation needs of the citizens, and one of its objectives – to support them in efforts to acquire their own flats. This should refer to both the actual and legal aspects of the State’s activity. Therefore the State and self-government authorities are tasked with developing estate resources and legal regulations allowing for purchasing them. Flats from municipal resources may be acquired without tender. The priority is given to current tenants if they have indefinite contracts. In addition they can apply for a price reduction even up to 99 percent of its the value. Such a provision, whose nature is clearly preferential, is undoubtedly contrary to the market economy, however it is socially justified. The audit of sales of municipal flats without tender was important both from the perspective of municipalities’ financial management and the tenants. Despite various forms of support for housing, their results are incapable of satisfying the needs. On the other hand, despite many years of experience that municipalities have with regard to privatisation of their assets, significant irregularities still occur. These were indicated in previous NIK’s audits conducted in 2010/2011, in 2014 and in 2020. The latest audit was aimed at examining whether municipalities properly sold flats taking advantage of the non-tender procedure and offering price reductions, as well as to check if they effectively demanded returns of reductions if legally required. The audit comprised the following areas: preparations and sales of flats, monitoring of secondary trading, and potential measures related to the recovery of reductions.

Tytuł:: Unexpected surfaces singular on lines in $\mathbb{P}^{3}$

Opis:: We study linear systems of surfaces in P3 singular along general lines. Our purpose is to identify and classify special systems of such surfaces, i.e., those non-empty systems where the conditions imposed by the multiple lines are not independent. We prove the existence of four surfaces arising as (projective) linear systems with a single reduced member. Till now no such examples have been known. These are unexpected surfaces in the sense of recent work of Cook II, Harbourne, Migliore, and Nagel. It is an open problem if our list is complete, i.e., if it contains all reduced and irreducible unexpected surfaces based on lines in P3. As an application we find Waldschmidt constants of six general lines in P3 and an upper bound for this invariant for seven general lines.

Opis:: The analyses of the trends of the development of social rented housing in the western European countries indicated that the share of flats in that sector depends on the general housing situation and the level of economy in the country. Based on such analyses, surveys were conducted in Poland among university students. The research concerned, among others, housing aspirations on the part of young people. The research results indicated that young people associate their residential future with owned flats.

Opis:: This review discussed the book by Michał Jacek Jarmuż (2020), entitled Housing Problems in Poland in the 1970s in the Light of Personal Documents [Problemy mieszkaniowe w Polsce w latach siedemdziesiątych XX wieku w świetle dokumentów osobistych] which was published in 2020 by the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. This publication is the result of the doctoral dissertation defended in 2014, written under the supervision of prof. Dariusz Jarosz at the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, who has specialized and researched for many years, inter alia, housing issues in 20th-century Poland, doing so both through the lens of classic archival files and personal documents (Jarosz, 1996; 2006; 2008; 2010; Miernik, 2006). This fact undoubtedly influenced the choice of research topics and the type of historical sources used in the work.

Opis:: W pracy przedstawiono modele matematyczne opisujące wymianę ciepła w czasie nagrzewania wsadu w komorowym piecu elektrycznym oraz podczas chłodzenia pasma osłoniętego ekranem cieplnym. Rozwiązanie uzyskano w przekroju poprzecznym pasma. Modele matematyczne dostosowano do warunków nagrzewania i walcowania płaskowników w linii LPS. Model nagrzewania wsadu w elektrycznym piecu komorowym opracowano na podstawie radiacyjnej wymiany ciepła między nagrzewanym materiałem i ścianami pieca. Model wymiany ciepła pasma osłoniętego ekranem cieplnym opracowano dla ekranu zbudowanego z trzech warstw: wewnętrznej osłony metalowej, warstwy izolującej i zewnętrznej osłony metalowej. Modelowano dwa ekrany: jeden z osłoną z blachy stalowej i drugi z osłoną wykonaną z blachy aluminiowej. Model wymiany ciepła pasma osłoniętego ekranem cieplnym może być zastosowany również dla innych linii walcowania ciągłego slabów i blach.
The numerical model describing the heat transfer during charge heating in the electric chamber furnace has been presented. Heat transfer models for hot rolling were supplemented by the boundary conditions for cooling of strand covered by the thermal shield. The solution was obtained in the cross section of the rolled material. The heat transfer models were adjusted to the technical specifi cations of the LPS rolling line. The heat transfer model for charge heating was developed based on the radiation heat transfer between the charge and the furnace wall surfaces. Heat transfer model for cooling of the rolled strand covered with three layer thermal shield was developed. Two types of shields were studied: with steel sheet shield and with aluminum sheet shield. The heat transfer model for rolled strand covered by the thermal shield is also suitable for other rolling lines.
