Opis:: Regardless of when and where migration takes place, the situation of a child-migrant is similar. In the context of migration a child of school (or even preschool) age commonly encounters problems associated with relationships with people in speciﬁ roles. Children are in contact with their peers belonging to the “indigenous” national community, and (possibly) also with peers of other nationalities, including other emigrants, the teaching staff, and the school system as a whole. A study of the situation and problems of immigrant children in one country can therefore provide valuable information on the possible directions of research, research methods and techniques, and the range of problems that such a study should take into account. Researchers of Polish emigration to Western Europe (especially of post-accession emigration) have already stressed the need to pay attention to the situation of the child-migrant. In this article I present some of the problems faced by child migrants and their families using case studies researched in Poland.

The START Series is created by Kamila Dembińska and Agnieszka Małyska for beginners starting to learn Polish. The paper analyzes one of the lessons from the textbook START 1 (shopping) and the way it introduces grammar at the very basic level.

Opis:: Thesis takes issues forms of protection and legalization of the foreigners stay in Poland. Material scope includes three chapters. In the first chapter are included preliminary issues: definition of foreigner is presented and the legal basis for shaping the status of a foreigner in Poland. The second chapter was devoted to a form of protection, which are granted to foreigners. First of all, are presented such institutions as the refugee status, subsidiary protection, asylum, temporary protection and other national forms resulting from the Act of foreigners of 2013. Next chapter presenter formsof legalize a foreigner in Poland, whereas amendment of the Aliens Act.
Praca podejmuję problematykę form ochrony i legalizacji pobytu cudzoziemca w Polsce. Zakres materialny obejmuje trzy rozdziały. W pierwszym rozdziale zostały ujęte zagadnienia wstępne: przedstawiona została definicja cudzoziemca oraz podstawy prawne kształtujące status cudzoziemca w Polsce. Rozdział drugi poświęcony został forma ochrony, które udzielane są cudzoziemcom. Przede wszystkim przedstawione zostały takie instytucje jak: nadanie statusu uchodźcy, udzielenie ochrony uzupełniającej, udzielenie azylu, udzielenie ochrony czasowej oraz inne krajowe formy wynikające z ustawy o cudzoziemcach z 2013 r. W kolejnym rozdziale zaprezentowane zostały formy legalizacji pobytu cudzoziemca w Polsce,mając na uwadze nowelizację ustawy o cudzoziemcach.

Opis:: Wstęp: Przyjmowanie do Europy coraz większej liczby cudzoziemców, budzi wśród rdzennych mieszkańców coraz większy niepokój, ale także zainteresowanie. Przewidywany napływ obcokrajowców starających się uzyskać w Polsce status uchodźcy lub innego rodzaju ochrony ze strony Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej, stanowi wyzwanie nie tylko dla rządu, ale także dla szeroko pojętej ochrony zdrowia. W powstałych ośrodkach dla uchodźców na terenie polski przed zatrudnionymi w nich pielęgniarkami stają nowe zadania, a także problemy z jakimi do tej pory w monokulturowej praktyce zawodowej się nie spotykały. Cel: Celem pracy było przybliżenie problemu przyjmowania cudzoziemców na tereny Polski oraz próba przybliżenia pracy pielęgniarek w ośrodkach dla cudzoziemców. Materiały i metody: W pracy wykorzystano metodę analizy dokumentów. Narzędziami badawczymi były publikacje zwarte, artykuły naukowe i popularno-naukowe z lat 2006 – 2016 oraz akty prawne.Wyniki: Cudzoziemcy przybywający do Polski mogą liczyć ze strony naszego państwa na wielokierunkową ochronę. Pomoc, która jest udzielana pokazuje nie tylko naszą solidarność z uchodźcami, ale także państwami, które w ostatnich latach borykają się z narastającym problemem imigracji i ucieczki cudzoziemców do Europy. W Polsce powstało 11 ośrodków dla uchodźców, w których zatrudnionych jest jedna lub dwie pielęgniarki na placówkę. Pracownicy urzędów oraz ośrodków, udzielających wsparcie napotykają wiele barier, wśród których głównymi są odmienności kulturowe, religijne a także językowe. Wnioski: Istnieje potrzeba organizowania kursów dokształcających dla pielęgniarek, dotyczących opieki świadczonej wśród pacjentów pochodzących z odmiennych kręgów kulturowych.
Introduction: The acceptance of an increasing number of foreigners in Europe arouses not only growing anxiety, but also an interest among indigenous inhabitants. The foreseen inflow of foreigners seeking for refugee status or other type of protection in the Republic of Poland, is a challenge for the government as well as for widely understood health protection. In the newly formed refugee centers in Poland nurses face new tasks and struggle with problems that they have never experienced before in their monoculture professional practice.Objective: The objective of the thesis was to present a deeper insight into the problem of accepting foreigners on the Polish territory and the attempt to shed light on the work of nurses in such centers for foreigners.Materials and methods: In this work, the method of documents’ analyzing was used. It was based on the research tools as closed publications, scientific and popular-scientific articles from 2006-2016 and the legal acts.Results: Foreigners arriving to Poland may rely on the multi-directional protection of our country. This kind of help presents our solidarity not only with the refugees, but also with countries struggling recently with the growing problem of immigration and citizens escaping to Europe. In Poland, there are 11 centers for refugees that employ 1 or 2 nurses per each center. Officials and staff employed in the centers providing support have to face loads of barriers along with the main one that is a cultural, religious and language difference. Conclusion: There is a need to organize training courses for nurses regarding the care that has to be provided among patients coming from different cultures.

This paper presents the evolution of the legal status of foreigners in Poland during the period between 1918 and 2014. The main emphasis was placed on the legal standards of the entry, stay and departure of foreigners in the Polish law on foreigners, international law and European Union law. The paper contains a comprehensive analysis of the process of change of the key legislation establishing the legal status of foreigners residing in Poland.

Opis:: Goal – the article analyses the most important legal acts regulating the employment of foreigners in Poland. The article aims to evaluate the adequacy of the introduced legal changes to the needs of the Polish labour market. The assumed hypothesis was that the legal regulations on the employment of foreigners in Poland are adjusted to the changes in the economic reality. Research methodology – the article includes an analysis of the available literature and the current legal acts that regulate the studied problem. Moreover, observations con cerning the adaptation of Polish legal regulations to the constantly growing interest of foreigners in the Polish labour market were made in the article. Score/results – the conducted analysis allowed us to verify the research hypothesis positively. It has been acknowledged that the provisions of Polish law in the field of employment of foreigners have been adapted to the changing economic conditions, al though the procedure for obtaining work permits for foreigners remains complicated. Originality/value – the article shows a cross-section of changes that have taken place in Polish labour law in the field of employment of foreigners in recent years.Changes in the Polish labour law have been presented chronologically, which helps to organize the knowledge on the topic. Moreover, it also considers the current problem of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on legal aspects of employment of foreigners in Poland.

Opis:: The work presents the results of the preliminary research on the employment of foreigners’ that were conducted among Polish banking institutions being the international corporations with a global reach. The initial results of the analysis shows the potential impact that specific employment policies exert on personal attitudes of foreign executives and operations of the companies in which they are employed. The analysis described in this work identifies the most important elements which hinder the development of those banks whose employment policies are based on the assumption that hiring foreigners is more beneficial than taking on local managers regardless of their familiarity with Polish market mechanisms. The qualitative research that were conducted in the form of the scenario-based interviews, were carried out with both, a group of managers (mainly heads of HR departments and senior executives) cooperating with the foreigners on everyday basis, and the foreigners themselves. The preliminary studies have revealed a number of trends and phenomenon that were described within this work.
