Opis:: Wykluczenie społeczne jest zjawiskiem wielowymiarowym, trudnym do jednoznacznego zdefiniowania i pomiaru. Osoby starsze i niepełnosprawne należą do kategorii osób korzystających z pomocy społecznej, są często wykluczane lub zagrożone wykluczeniem społecznym. Podstawową instytucją pomagającą tym osobom jest ośrodek pomocy społecznej, którego celem jest wsparcie życia społecznego osób wykluczonych. W artykule omówione zostaną wybrane świadczenia niepieniężne na rzecz osób starszych i niepełnosprawnych na przykładzie Miejskiego Ośrodka Pomocy Społecznej w Krakowie.
Social exclusion is a multidimensional phenomenon, difficult to define and measure unambiguously. Elderly and disabled people belong to the category of people benefiting from social assistance; they are often excluded or are at risk of social exclusion. The basic institution that helps these people is a social welfare center whose aim is to support the social life of the excluded. The article will discuss selected non-cash benefits for the elderly and the disabled on the example of the Municipal Social Welfare Center in Krakow.

Opis:: This diploma thesis presents definitions of disability, its types and causes. The author described different forms of help, stereotypes and possibilities of integration of the disabled. The discrimination of the handicapped was also mentioned. The author presented results of studies concerning readiness to help the disabled by employees of public benefit institutions. Also, the author described the opinions of respondents concerning, among other things, their knowledge, attitude of the environment towards the disabled people, and the opinions they have on the degree of independence of the handicapped.
W pracy przedstawiono definicje niepełnosprawności, rodzaje, a także jej przyczyny. Opisane zostały także formy pomocy, stereotypy oraz możliwości integracji osób niepełnosprawnych. Zwrócono również uwagę na występującą dyskryminację osób niepełnosprawnych. Zaprezentowano wyniki badań przedstawiające gotowość niesienia pomocy osobom niepełnosprawnym przez pracowników instytucji użytku publicznego. Przedstawione zostały opinie badanych między innymi na temat zasobu informacji ankietowanych, postaw środowiska wobec osób niepełnosprawnych, stopnia samodzielności osób niepełnosprawnych w opinii respondentów.

Opis:: Objectives: The main aim of the research was to become acquainted with the conditions of work and the tasks of the school counsellor resulting from the psychological and pedagogical help performed at educational facilities. Material and methods: The following two methods were used to obtain the research material: the diagnostic survey and assessment. Results: The results of quantitative analyses were classified into the following areas: the conditions of work, the school counsellor’s duties, the forms of pedagogical help in their work with the students, parents and teachers, the factors that influence the school counsellor’s model of work and individual features important in the profession of school counsellor. The mentioned analyses indicate that the contemporary counsellor is mainly a woman (the profession is feminised), with higher education, systematically improving and supplementing their knowledge so as to perform the tasks set by the pedagogical supervision and family, school and local environment. Conclusions: Thanks to adequate professional preparation and application of a wide range of forms of help for the students, teacher and parents, the school counsellor constitutes a significant link of psychological and pedagogical help performed at the educational facilities.

This article concentrates on the issue of maintaining balance between employee work and personal life. Various instruments can support this balance. They include guaranteeing flexible working conditions and providing wide–ranging assistance and support in non–business areas, such as culture, recreation, health, childcare, etc. Two companies from Łódź provide an illustration of various instruments in the area of WL–B.
