In this paper the essence of models of material continuum is examined and the construction of those models is presented on the example of Mechanics of Deformable Bodies. The definition of such models is formulated and the reasons for their effectiveness are discussed. The main directions of the developement of such models are indicated. The definitions of a material body, material fields and dynamic processes are formulated. Equivalent processes are considered as those which are representations of the same physical process relative to a different frame work of references. The motion of a material continuum is described. It is regarded as a one-parameter family of transformations of an abstract body into the euclidean space E. The evolutional equations of a material continuum are introduced as a local form of the principal conservation laws. General properties of constitutive equations are discussed. They result from the objectivity and stress localization assumptions. After introducing the concept of material isomorphism and isotropy group, classification of materials is carried ont.

The article describes changes in the environment to which companies must adapt in order to maintain or improve their competitiv position. Performing activities within the field of social involvement such as creating corporate foundation bring forth many benefits that can be grouped into folloving categories: benefits associated with the company's image, benefits stemming from good relationships with the stakeholders, benefits associated with employee's morale and motivation, and customer loyalty that directly translates into financial benefits. Therefore, the author proposes that corporate foundations due to their wide array of positive effects generated to their founder , may be used in the proceses of company re tructuring in general and especially in growth and marketing restructuring proceses that implement the idea of corporate social involvement.

Opis:: The object of my last year’s presentation were communication (ethical, integration, political) threats posed by a foundation seen as an extension to a company in its traditional sense. I came to the conclusion that an automatic transfer of social trust capital to the parent company (in certain, specified by me, contexts) causes the foundation to betray its mission. It is the company that becomes the main beneficiary of mutual aid activities. This year, the paper addresses the following three issues. Firstly, I intend to show the symbolic pressure exerted on both consumers and producers, which is made possible by the ‘labeling’ of products of ‘socially sensitive’ companies. There would be no point questioning the fact of shaping social attitudes if it weren’t for an ambiguous position of the co-ordinator of the enterprise, who becomes vested with the rights of a certification authority. Another question under consideration is the transformation of a foundation into a quasi-company. A third-sector organization adds business activity to the goals specified in its by-laws. It results in taking on highly-skilled professionals who have nothing to do with charitable activity of a third sector organization. Finally, there is a danger of a foundation’s approximation to a second-sector organization. A foundation may be financed by a public administration body. This may lead to the division of the final product of a foundation between the beneficiaries and the body which sponsors its operation using a ‘lump sum’ payment. Whichever the problem, the key aspect seems societal control over mutual aid activities. Its lack results in an abuse of power and the diminished trust of the manipulated society in effective cooperation.

Opis:: The empirical research reported in this article is based on the Moral Foundations Theory proposed by J. Haidt. Objectives. The author examines the impact of moral foundations arguments on early adolescents’ moral judgments regarding violating moral rules and explores gender-related differences between moral foundations preferences. Method. The effect of moral foundations arguments was measured by a newly developed meta-ethical position test (MEPT). The MEPT consists of a pretest questionnaire, treatment by moral foundations arguments, and a posttest questionnaire. The sample contained 178 early adolescents from the Czech Republic (84 females and 94 males). The influence of the moral foundations arguments was analyzed by comparing the pretest with the posttest. Results. 91% of teenagers changed their moral judgment due to confrontations with the moral foundations arguments. A Wilcoxon signed-rank test found that the moral foundations arguments were significantly relevant, since the P-value was lower than 0.001. The Mann-Whitney U test revealed the importance of the gender aspect: P-value care equals 0.01 and liberty 0.01. Girls have a preference for care foundation (21% more than boys), while boys tended to liberty (27 % more than girls). It seems that moral foundations arguments strongly change early adolescents’ moral judgments and can be practically applied as a valuable platform for early adolescents’ moral development.

The mostly reasons of buildings foundations destructions and simplistic classification of reinforcements foundations methods in buildings and standards of suitability of reinforcements methods foundations have been presented in the paper. Ground conditions of the Old City in Kraków have been presented in the paper. Widely have been discussed the case of Saints Peter and Paul Church. The paper deals with history of this building, its construction and settlements of pillars and crypts foundations. The conception of solving the problem following the settlements and realization Mega piles has been presented in the paper.

Constitutional right of citizens to associate. Foundations and associations.

Opis:: The objective of this thesis is to present the possibility of exercising the freedom of association, which is guaranteed by the Polish Constitution of 2 April 1997. Two most popular forms of association, namely foundations and associations, have been analysed in detail. The thesis presents their common characteristics, as well as a number of features that differentiate them from each other. In order for this analysis to be carried out in a proper manner, a substantial part of the thesis has been devoted to laws governing these two forms of association, namely the Foundations Act of 6 April 1984 and the Associations Act of 7 April 1989. The procedure for the appointment of these organizations, the way they operate, the creation of statutes, possible sources of funding, the supervisory bodies, as well as the reasons for and methods of dissolution have all been presented here. In addition, the characteristics of public benefit organizations have been discussed. The forms of association functioning in other countries such as the United Kingdom, France and Germany have been described for comparison. The thesis also presents some examples of foundations and associations operating in our country, including the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity and the Polish Humanitarian Action. The examples show the specificity of this type of organization.
Celem niniejszej pracy było przedstawienie możliwości realizacji wolności zrzeszania się, gwarantowanej przez Konstytucję RP z 2 kwietnia 1997 r. Szczególnej analizie poddane zostały dwie najbardziej popularne formy zrzeszania się, jakimi są fundacje i stowarzyszenia. Przedstawiono ich cechy wspólne, a także szereg cech różniących je od siebie. Aby analiza ta była przeprowadzona w sposób prawidłowy, dużo miejsca poświęcono w tej pracy ustawom regulującym te dwie formy zrzeszania się, a więc ustawie z dnia 6 kwietnia 1984 r. o fundacjach oraz ustawie z dnia 7 kwietnia 1989 r. Prawo o stowarzyszeniach. Przedstawiono procedurę powoływania tych organizacji, sposób ich funkcjonowania, tworzenie statutu, możliwe źródła finansowania, organy nadzoru, a także powody i sposoby likwidacji. Została tu także przedstawiona charakterystyka organizacji pożytku publicznego. Dla porównania przedstawione zostały również formy zrzeszania się funkcjonujące w innych krajach, w tym w Wielkiej Brytanii, Francji, czy w Niemczech. W pracy tej omówione także zostały przykłady fundacji i stowarzyszeń funkcjonujących w naszym kraju, m.in. Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy, Polska Akacja Humanitarna. Przykłady te pokazują specyfikę tego typu organizacji.
