Opis:: The article is based on the ethnographic mobile eldwork carried out among Polish tractor unit drivers em- ployed in West European forwarding companies. It is focused on truck drivers’ mobility, whose inherent quality is the contradiction between movement and stillness, multi-sitedness and speci c localisation, and access to protected and monitored industrial zones as opposed to spatial exclusion. The starting point of the re ections are the categories of a non-place and mobility, which in practice appear to less obvious and one-dimensional in the context of trans-local and cross-border activities of tractor unit drivers. It is the stillness a phenomenon that reveals the regimes of distribution and transport logistics.

Opis:: In this paper, we address thefreight network design problem. A mixed integer linear program is formulated to help logistics service providers jointlyselect the best terminal locations among a set of candidate locations, shipping modes, and route for shipping different types of commodities. The developed model isapplied to two different networksto show its applicability. Results obtained from CPLEX for the case studiesare presented, and the benefit of the proposed model is discussed.

Praca magisterska zakłada, że dobrze opracowany biznesplan jest narzędziem analityczno-planistycznym warunkującym powodzenie przedsięwzięcia, jakim jest transportowo-spedycyjna działalność gospodarcza. Celem pracy magisterskiej jest zatem prezentacja teoretycznych podstaw biznesplanu i specyfiki branży TSL oraz opracowanie biznesplanu mikroprzedsiębiorstwa logistycznego. Biznesplan będzie narzędziem strategicznym zastosowanym przy realizacji planowanego przedsięwzięcia gospodarczego.

The aim of the article is to analyse the importance of respecting the principles of corporate social responsibility in activities of enterprises from the Transport, Freight and Logistics sector and present the influence of implementation of this concept by Transport, Freight and Logistics enterprises on their cooperation with the examined production, commercial and service enterprises. The first part of the article presents the theoretical aspects of corporate social responsibility of Transport, Freight and Logistics enterprises, the second describes author's own research methodology and analysis of the results concerning selected aspects of cooperation of the examined enterprises with Transport, Freight and Logistics enterprises.

Opisane są najważniejsze regulacje z konwencji międzynarodowych, dyrektyw i rozporzadzeń unijnych oraz ustaw polskich. Dodatkowo omawiane są umowy cywilno prawne – przewozu i spedycji. W rozdziale drugim opisane są także problemy prawne, na które napotykają polscy przedsiębiorcy trudniący się transportem drogowym.W rozdziale trzecim zawarta jest definicja międzynarodowej idei zrównoważonego rozwoju oraz jego podstawowe założenia. Opisana jest także prognoza rozwoju branży transportu drogowego w Polsce, a także relacje rynku transportowego z zasadami zrównoważonego rozwoju.Główne wnioski z pracy wskazują na dobrą kondycję branży transportu drogowego w Polsce i jej dalszy dynamiczny rozwój, mimo wyzwań stawianych przez regulacje prawne oraz czynniki takie jak ochrona środowiska.
The aim of this thesis is to characterize polish road freight transport sector, to describe the legal system that regulates road transport market in Poland and European Union and to show the prospects and directions of development of road freight transport sector in Poland and to refer them to the idea of sustainable development.The first chapter contains a brief history of road transport, the condition of the sector in Poland with special regards to its chances and risks and the description of road transport companies operating on polish market and their financial results in recent years.The second chapter contains most of all characteristics and analysis of the legal system of legal acts that the road transport is regulated by in European Union and Poland. Described are the most important regulations from international conventions, European directives and decrees and polish acts. Additionally, there is an elaboration of civil law contracts – cartage and forwarding. In this chapter there are also described legal problems that polish road transport entrepreneurs are facing.In the third chapter, there is a definition of international idea of sustainable transport and the basic concepts of it. Forecasted is also the development of the road transport in Poland and the relationship between the transportation market and the rules of sustainable transport.The main conclusions from the thesis are that the condition of polish road freight transport is good, and its continuous dynamic growth is predicted despite of the challenges posed by legal regulations and factors like environmental protection.

Opis:: This paper presents an empirical approach that allows pre-feasibility assessment of logistics infrastructure for defined locational and fleet constraints. It aims at developing a fast screening method for the assessment of demand of a public Transport and Logistics Center, which is important for properly selecting the Center’s size and minimising the risk of over or under-estimation of capacity needs. The results are useful for policy makers to facilitate the early planning and commercialisation phases of a TLC project. The method develops the appropriate cost functions in order to compare two logistics strategies: one that involves the use of TLC to achieve economies of scale, and another one that assumes direct deliveries from origin to destination to save time and handling costs. The method has been applied as a pilot study in a case of a regional Center in Greece, advocating its applicability and reusability.

Opis:: Introduction: Crowd logistics is a widely accepted concept in times of the growing popularity of sharing economy solutions. The popularity of e-commerce and a tendency to provide same-day delivery are the main reasons for their development. Developing those trends requires new products and services, now available on the market, known in the transport area as crowd logistics solutions. Purpose: The purpose of the paper is to provide a tool for assessing crowd-logistics solutions, taking into consideration customers’ requirements. The text includes groups of environmental, economic, and social criteria to facilitate the choice of the best crowd logistics solution for freight transport. Methodology: The research is based on the critical analysis of different sources (literature, European Commission reports, other reports and analyses) and practical solutions in the field of crowd logistics. The main data analysis method is the Analytic Hierarchy Process, usually used to evaluate variants in decision-making processes. This method was chosen because of the variety of data types (quantitative and qualitative) and formats, its popularity, universality, and replicability. Results: This paper contains ready-to-use weights for the assessment of crowd logistics solutions. The proposed set of criteria and weights can be a useful tool for customers to evaluate the sharing-economy services landscape in the areas they manage.

Opis:: The logistics industry is developing rapidly at the global level. The trend toward implementing virtual reality in business and digitalization is growing. The growth of consumer demand for logistics services and their high quality provokes an increase in freight turnover around the world, allowing logistics processes to improve. At the same time, the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic was an unpredictable event that led to a crisis and chaos in logistics and demonstrated the unpreparedness of global logistics for such situations. Researchers say the effects of the pandemic are just beginning and will last for the next three years. The study aims to determine the duration of the effects of a pandemic, their impact on logistics, and identify the preconditions for preventing potential crises. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to analyze the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on global logistics, predict the development of the logistics crisis for the next study period, conclude, and offer recommendations. Logistics was able to respond quickly to the new challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic and adapt to the new realities of doing business. However, together with such a phenomenally rapid change in the accepted order of life and adjustment to the remote "new" normality, humanity struggles with new waves of the pandemic.

Opis:: Background: For many logistics service providers and shippers sustainable transport is still a relatively recent issue, even if almost every transportation company is engaged in sustainability. Each has had different experiences with making transportation more sustainable. By looking at the efforts and successes of others sharing these experiences could help shippers and logistics service providers to obtain new innovative ideas of how to become more sustainable. The certification organization Green Freight Europe (GFE) wants to develop a database for these types of experiences in order to encourage its members to generate sustainable initiatives. Method: In support of this plan, we interviewed several logistics service providers and shippers and conducted a brief survey among GFE members. Results: Sustainability forms one of the goals for all interviewed companies mainly based on cost reduction but followed closely as a tool to attract new customers. At the moment, the information obtained to keep updated on sustainability comes mainly from truck producers and not from information from best cases from other logistics service providers. Conclusions: We have found that there is a willingness to submit best cases, but also a fear that the submitter will miss his competitive advantage by telling others about his innovations.
Wstęp: Dla wiele dostarczycieli usług logistycznych oraz przewoźników pojęcie transportu zrównoważonego jest pojęciem całkiem nowym, nawet biorąc pod uwagę, że większość fakt, że większość firm transportowych jest już włączonych w rozwój zrównoważony. Każdy z nich ma też inne doświadczenia w tym zakresie. Obserwując wysiłki i osiągnięcia, wydaje się korzystnie dzielenie się swoimi doświadczeniami, które mogą się przyczynić do wprowadzenia nowych innowacyjnych metod prowadzących do zrównoważonego rozwoju firm. Certyfikowana organizacja Green Freight Europe (GFE) chce stworzyć bazę danych obejmujących różnego rodzaju doświadczenia w celu wspierania swoich członków do bardziej zrównoważonego rozwoju. Metoda: przeprowadzono wywiady z dostarczycielami usług logistycznych oraz przewoźnikami jak również przeprowadzono krótką ankietę wśród członków GFE. Wyniki: Rozwój zrównoważony kojarzy się praktycznie wszystkim ankietowanym przedsiębiorstwom z redukcją kosztów, ale również z narzędziem mogącym przyciągnąć nowych klientów. Obecnie otrzymane informacje o podtrzymywaniu praktyk rozwoju zrównoważonego pochodzą głównie od producentów samochodów a nie od dostarczycieli usług logistycznych. Wnioski: Stwierdzono, że istnieje chęć dzielenia się dobrymi praktykami, ale również obawa, że przekazujący informację straci swoją przewagę konkurencyjną poprzez przekazanie innych informacji o unowocześnieniach.
