Opis:: This article focuses upon the evolution of an ideologically dominated linguistic feminism to the application of gender-sensitive language in contemporary German. Three linguistic strategies – distinction, neutralization, graphostylistic disturbance – with corresponding linguistic forms will be examined in two German university guidelines, intending to reveal which ones are considered as pragmatically acceptable in communicative practice.

Opis:: To restore the quality of education, the 2013 curriculum reform in Indonesia urged teachers to employ pupil-centered, thematic problem-based learning (PBL). This study examined whether the PBL collaborative learning enabled students to learn better and in an equal manner through an array of cross-cutting aspects like race, social class, and gender. The presented study involved two teacher colleges and randomly assigned undergraduate classes that were taught with the use of PBL practices while other comparable classes were taught through traditional lecturing. It was found that the students in the experimental group performed better and more equalized than those in the other group. This is to assist the teacher colleges to teach their student-teachers to design and practice more engaging classes where boys and girls are given equal chances to foster their potentials to the fullest.

Opis:: In this article we analyze part of our research results orientated to discover gender sensitiveness in social work with female refugees. We present part of our results which concern to appearance some of gender stereotypes between workers who are actively working with female refugees. Results indicate still lurking gender stereotypes and insufficient allowance gender sensitive approach in work with female refugees.

Opis:: The change of social, political and professional gender roles has affected the way gender distinctions are expressed in language in different social groups including the scientific community. Gender distinctions can be either marked or they can be neutralized. The goal of this article is to present different ways of forming gender-sensitive expressions in Polish and German. Both German and Polish employ many linguistic devices to make gender distinctions, which can be either reflected in spelling and word-formation (e.g. using the gender marking asterisk * or gender marking suffixes) or in the linguistic system (e.g. new forms describing feminine job titles). The presented examples are discussed from various perspectives (form and content, grammatical acceptability, stylistic level, etc.).

Opis:: This report explores the experiences and the impact of the intersecting crises on migrant women from Ukraine, Russia, Chechnya and Belarus living in Poland. It is based on the data collected by the Polish team and shares key findings and policy recommendations derived from data analysis. In light of the recent crises, the researchers were forced to highlight new risks and uncertainties, especially for women and their children fleeing the war in Ukraine and the persecution of the Lukashenko regime in Belarus.

Opis:: This paper focuses on gender-fair language and the attitudes of teachers and students of German as a foreign language (DaF) towards its use in university teaching. In the context of the survey study presented here, gender is understood as a construct that is manifested in specific, changing language use variants, such as in personal names. The surveyed teachers and students of applied linguistics at the University are current and future DaF linguists and educators, who, due to social changes, will be increasingly confronted with the issues under study in their professional lives. The aim of the study is, firstly, to determine whether gender-fair language is addressed in the DaF courses under study, if so, in what form and to what extent, and secondly, to record and describe the attitudes of the studied groups towards it, in order to raise awareness of this important phenomenon of contemporary German language use. Consequently, the conducted survey provides information about the presence of gender issues in DaF courses and the attitudes of the two groups towards gender-fair language. The results of the study are discussed in terms of their contribution to the development of gender-sensitive didactics of German as a foreign and as a second language. .
