Opis:
In the years 2003-2005 in the Lamkowko Satellite Observatory a measuring well equipped with a measuring float was establisshed. This measurement instrument was constructed jointly with Space Research Center of Polish Academy of Sciences. The measuring system enables to detect precisely changes in the level of ground water. The changes in the water level are measured with the accuracy better than 0.1 mm. the obtained accuracy of measuring allows to detect several phenomena: meteorological ones, geodynamics one4s, Earth tides. In this paper, the preliminary results of the first time series of changes of changes in the level of ground water are presented. The time series of these measurements, utilized in this study, cover only 4 months (from January to April 2006). Preliminary results enable to detect diurnal and semidiurnal oscillations.

Opis:
Airborne laser scanning survey results in a set of observation in the form of a point cloud. The point cloud is subjected to a process of further analysis, which consists of the preliminary data processing stage, the main processing stage and the visualisation stage. Such an analysis can lead, among others, to construction of a DTM. In order to improve the effectiveness of the ALS point cloud analysis for the purposes of DTM construction, certain modificationscan be introduced at all of the mentioned stages. The authors of the study propose an improvement to the standard methodology of analysing ALS observations by introducing an optimization algorithm at the preliminary processing stage. In order to smooth a digital terrain model, digital processing techniques and algorithms were also applied.

Opis:
The article presents an analysis of the quality of academic education of Geodesy and Cartography graduates in terms of their employment in geodesy administration. The subject of the article is an up-to-date issue, considering the opinions expressed in geodesy circles on poor preparation of university graduates to work in administration. Accordingly, the article presents the teaching system of engineer and MSc courses and describes the syllabuses of respective specialties. Next, a student profile is presented vis-à-vis employer expectations and the requirements of geodesy offices. Moreover, we present the expected graduate qualifications in accordance with the recommendations of the Polish General Board of Higher Education. Finally, we compare several examples of jobs advertised by the Geodesy and Cadastre Departments.
W artykule przedstawiono analizę jakości wykształcenia akademickiego absolwentów kierunku geodezja i kartografia w aspekcie zatrudnienia w administracji geodezyjnej. Podjęta tematyka jest aktualna ze względu na pojawiające się w środowisku dyskusje o słabym przygotowaniu absolwentów do pracy w urzędach. Przedstawiony został zatem system kształcenia studentów na poziomie inżynierskim oraz magisterskim z uwzględnieniem częściowego omówienia programów przedmiotów na poszczególnych specjalnościach. Następnie przedstawiono sylwetkę absolwenta pod kontem oczekiwań pracodawców oraz wymagań urzędów geodezyjnych. Przedstawiono również kwalifikacje, jakie powinien posiadać absolwent zgodnie z zaleceniami Rady Głównej Szkolnictwa Wyższego. Na koniec przytoczone zostały przykładowe oferty urzędów na różne stanowiska w wydziałach geodezji i katastru.

Opis:
Contemporary methods of geodetic observation adjustment are more often derived from (based on) M-estimation theory. This statement applies especially to robust methods of adjustment. This paper presents a new method of adjustment based on theory M-estimation with assymetric weight function. Such a function is obtained by multiplying original weights by assymetric attenuation function. The attenuation function consists of some, dependent on excess, terms of the Edgeworth series. The proposed method belongs to the class of robust estimations. However it also makes possible to apply asymmetry coefficient is an additional parameter (against the previously elaborated methods) that controls a robust adjustment.

Opis:
Currently, geodesic service for complex cubature structure requires the involvement of experienced surveyors and modern equipment. During construction and after it's end, surveying is carried out according to Technical Standard G-3. However during the exploitation of buildings, you can use different, geodetic and non-geodetic survey methods described in. The article presents selected surveying and construction problems on two newly built sports facilities in Gdansk: Multifunctional Sport- Entertainment Arena ERGO-ARENA Gdansk-Sopot, and football Stadium PGE Arena Gdansk. Were characterized terrain and soil and water conditions in places of location of these objects. The supporting structure together with the roof cover and the foundation hall and stadium was described. Particular attention was given to an organization, technology and the course of the surveying made during the realization of geodetic service by UH DIAZ from Gdansk in cooperation with the Gdansk University of Technology. The article contains selected results of surveying.
