Opis:: By means of Regulation (EU) No 1307/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council, a new component, i.e. the greening payment, has been included into the Union direct support scheme rendering direct support conditional upon applying by farmers the compulsory agricultural practices beneficial for the climate and the environment. The legal nature of the greening payment and consequences of noncomplying with the set obligations are being analyzed. The new environmental conditionality of direct support is considered by referring to the existing system of the cross-compliance principle. The requirement of farmer’s declaration on compliance with the environmental obligation already at the stage of application for payment should be seen as an important achievement on the path of setting a compulsory link between the common agricultural policy and the environmental policy of the Union; numerous exceptions from applying environmental practices might however weaken the system.

Opis:: Reformed system of payments under the direct support schemes introduces many changes. The previous regulations were not connected with direct payments from production but only subject to the fulfillment of cross-compliance requirements. which contributed to support and stabilization of farm income, and also contributed to providing the public, next to agricultural products also public goods such as food security or environmental goods (biodiversity, quality of the environment, rural landscape) . While the payment system in the next programming period of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) for 2014-2020 is to support economically active farmers, with an emphasis on support for young farmers, small and medium-sized farms and with the possibility of reducing support to farms achieving the highest income. Under the new programming period the CAP increased environmental requirements relating to the support of farms, as well as maintained additional support to producers in areas with natural constraints. Under these new circumstances follows the reorientation of agricultural policy instruments. The introduced solutions have eliminated a group of owners of land holdings with the sole purpose of receiving payment to reduce the subsidies for the largest farms, and the money saved spent on rural development. Analysis of established legal solutions in the field of direct payments shows that despite the fundamental objective which is to ensure the appropriate level of farm income, which is the subject of increasingly frequent concerns of part of the economic doctrine , the new model of direct support is also intended to support environment-friendly agricultural practices. The established legal measures also apply (both indirectly and directly) to the protection of biodiversity and landscape through crop diversification, maintenance of permanent pasture, the maintenance of ecological focus areas, or equivalent practices.

Opis:: The article indicates the basic legal problems associated with the system of direct payments for 2014–2020. Particularly, the problems of respecting cross-compliance principles, as well as new issues regarding the greening policy have been signaled. The legal situation of farmers operating on Natura 2000 sites, who would like to benefit from the new direct payments system, is also discussed. In this regard, the basic lex ferenda postulates have also been indicated.

Opis:: Ze względu na zaobserwowane globalne ocieplenie klimatu, uprawa wczesnych odmian soi może być podjęta w warunkach klimatu umiarkowanego, czyli w Polsce. W artykule przedstawiono plonowanie soi, odmiany Merlin - jedynej zaprawionej i zaszczepionej bakteriami brodawkowymi, w oparciu o wyniki produkcyjne w trzech zootechnicznych zakładach doświadczalnych, położonych w zachodnim, ciepłym pasie naszego kraju. Uzyskano zróżnicowany poziom plonowania nasion soi postrzeganych jako źródło białka odmian nie GMO. Zasięg analizy poszerzono o porównanie kosztów i opłacalności soi w stosunku do rzepaku ozimego. Przewaga soi nad rzepakiem wynika z możliwości jej użycia jako rośliny wiążącej azot i stanowiącej użytek proekologiczny będący elementem zazielenienia.
Because of the observed global warming, growing early varieties of soybeans can be taken in moderate climate conditions, ie in Poland. The article presents yielding of soybean variety Merlin - the only mingled and inoculated with soil bacteria Rhizobia, based on the production results of three animal experimental farms, located in the western and warm belt of our country. Achieved varying levels of perceived yielding soybeans, as a protein source of non-GMO varieties. The range of the analysis was extended to compare the costs and profitability of soybean versus oilseed rape. Soybean advantage over rape results from the possibility of its use as a binding plants use nitrogen and acting as part of ecological greening.

Opis:: The application of biotechnological methods in the metallurgical industry has the potential to provide an environmentally friendly and cost-effective direction of development. Thiobacillus ferrooxidans, a thionic bacterium, and the microalga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii TN-72 CH were used as complex reagents for extracting gold from sulfide mineral raw materials. The sorption properties of modal and productive multicomponent gold-bearing solutions were studied. The sorption characteristics of the biosorbents were compared with those of sorbents currently used in gold production – the synthetic resin AM2B and GoldCarb activated carbon. The conducted research studying the sorption properties and survival ability of the microalga C. reinhardtii TN-72 CH will make it possible to develop an industrial technology for extracting metal in the hydrometallurgical cycle of gold production. The use of microorganisms in gold hydrometallurgy as an alternative to cyanide methods will reduce the load on the environment while reducing the cost of the technology. In the process of leaching gold-bearing raw materials by microorganisms, even submicroparticles of gold are released, which makes the processing of poor and refractory ores promising. Preliminary biooxidation increases the effectiveness of thiosulfates in terms of both time and gold recovery.

Opis:: Main conclusion Greening was partially (in 300 mM NaCl, $CaCl_{2}$, 600 mM $KNO_{3}$ or KCl) or fully inhibited (in 600 mM NaCl, $NaNO_{3}$ or NaCl:KCl) by the ionic and not the osmotic component of salinity. Abstract Although high soil salinity is an increasing global problem, not much is known about how direct exposure to salinity affects etiolated leaves of seedlings germinating in the soil and then reaching the surface. We investigated the effect of various salt treatments on the greening process of leaves in 8- to 11-day-old etiolated wheat (Triticum aestivum L. Mv. Béres) seedlings. Etiolated leaf segments pre-treated on different salt (600 mM NaCl:KCl 1:1, 600 mM NaCl, 600 mM KCl, 600 mM $NaNO_{3}$, 600 mM KNO3, 300 mM KCl, 300 mM NaCl or 300 mM $CaCl_{2}$) or isosmotic polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG) solutions for 1.5 h in the dark and then greened for 16 h on the same solutions were studied. Leaf segments greened on PEG (osmotic stress) or on 300 mM KCl had similar chloroplasts compared to control samples greened on Hoagland solution. Slightly slower development of chloroplast structure and function (photosynthetic activity) was observed in segments greened on 300 mM NaCl or $CaCl_{2}$, 600 mM KNO3 or KCl. However, etioplast-to-chloroplast transformation and chlorophyll accumulation were fully inhibited and peculiar prothylakoid swelling occurred in segments greened on 600 mM NaCl, $NaNO_{3}$ or NaCl:KCl (1:1) solutions. The data indicate that not the high osmolarity of the used salt solution, but its ions, especially $Na^{+}$, had the strongest negative impact on these processes.

Opis:: The environmental pressures and accompanying market trends require chain managers to reorient their approach to chain construction and management. New business models are gaining popularity, but interesting from a research point of view is whether organizations are aware of the greening of the environment in which pro-environmental aspects are implemented, or whether there is a difference between the assessment of supply chain performance depending on the extent of the environmental aspects being implemented. The results of the research indicate that there is a gap in both research and practical aspects. The difficulty is ignorance of how the chain can be assessed, in terms of its greening, often the awareness of the importance of problems is not used in relation to the environment. It is important to pursue further research in this area and implement solutions to economic practice, since only in this way will environmental aspects really change the supply chain.

Opis:: In the past decades, many studies have proposed urban greening as a method to mitigate the rising temperatures in cities and urban heat islands. The cooling effect of urban green spaces can be divided into two components; cooling intensity and cooling extension. These two components are affected by different factors. This paper provides a review of research on the impact of urban greening on temperature and on the parameters that have an effect on that. Based on this review, two categories that have an effect on cooling intensity and cooling extension were identified: internal factors and external factors. These play an important role in the effectiveness of urban green spaces. As internal factors or indexes, the following were extracted; Size index, Shape index, Vegetation species and Tree canopy coverage are the most common indexes in most of the studies. The external factors can be divided into climate and surrounding properties. A discussion of the reviewed studies reflects the impact of each index on the cooling intensity and cooling extension. The existing methods and techniques for determining these indexes have also been considered in this paper. As such, this study is helpful for designers and planners for decision-making during the design phase.
