Opis:: The article is an interpretation of the traditional figure of the hermeneutic circle made from the perspective of John D. Caputo’s radical hermeneutics. It begins with a recapitulation of the most important modern positions on the hermeneutic circle, which postmodern hermeneutics radicalizes, noting the impossibility of its closure or fulfillment. Movement in the postmodern hermeneutic circle takes place not between the parts and the whole, but only between the different parts. Thus, one might say that this circle is twisted, and this has a dual meaning. It evokes Jacques Derrida’s interpretation of a phrase from Hamlet, “time is out of joint”, but it also plays with the meaning of the twist, which can be understood as a Verwindung: the impossibility of the transgression beyond modern hermeneutics.

Opis:: In this essay I present culture as a realm constituted by a circular movement where progress is constantly confronted (and questioned) by different forms of reversions. By progress I mean specifically oriented changes we observe in culture. Many of them are rooted in the development of technology and science, or stem from demographical changes and intercultural influences. Reactions to these changes frequently involve returning to certain forms of behavior or responses that were common in the past but have been later abandoned. I intend to present examples of this phenomenon observed in culture.

Interpretator wobec problemu odsłaniania się tekstu został poświęcony refleksji dotyczącej sztuki interpretacji w filozofii Martina Heideggera. Staje się ona równocześnie ciekawą inspiracją dla polonistycznych praktyk wobec spotkań z tekstem literackim. Idąc za myślą niemieckiego filozofa interpretacja będzie pojęta jako nietypowy sposób wypatrywania, idący w stronę analizy siebie i świadomości m. in. odbiorczej, czytelniczej czy kompetencyjnej oraz wnikania w znaczenia tekstu. Interpretator będzie więc tym, kto wnikliwie obserwuje, dostrzega szczegóły i wpatruje się w siebie, co dostarcza mu intelektualnego oglądu w procesie interpretacji. Z jednej strony filozoficzne aspekty myśli Heideggerowskiej są pomocne w zrozumieniu potrzeby budowania własnej postawy interpretacyjnej poprzez myślenie i trwanie w pytaniu. Z drugiej, współczesna filozofia jako następstwo myśli Heideggera staje się w ten sposób momentem refleksji nad sobą, procesem interpretacji i tym, co w nią wnosi interpretator. Dają one podstawę do namysłu nad konstruowaniem własnej filozofii uczenia.
Article on Exploring the clearances - watching for yourself. The interpreter in the face of the problem of revealing the text was devoted to reflection on the art of interpretation in the philosophy of Martin Heidegger. At the same time, it becomes an interesting inspiration for Polish studies of encounters with literary texts. Following the idea of the German philosopher, the interpretation will be understood as an unusual way of looking, going towards the analysis of self and consciousness, among others acceptance, reading or competence and penetrating the meaning of the text. The interpreter will therefore be the one who carefully observes, notices details and looks at himself, which provides him with an intellectual overview in the process of interpretation. On the one hand, the philosophical aspects of Heidegger's ideas are helpful in understanding the need to build one's own interpretative attitude through thinking and persistence in the question. On the other hand, modern philosophy as a consequence of Heidegger's thought becomes in this way a moment of reflection on itself, the process of interpretation and what the interpreter brings into it. They provide the basis for reflection on the construction of indivudual learning philosophy.

Opis:: Hermeneutyka Maxa Imdahla wyróżnia widzenie rozpoznające temat ikonograficzny oraz widzenie widzące szczególną strukturę obrazu. Hermeneutyka Godfrieda Böhme jest przekładem zamiany medium wizualnego na medium obrazowe, przy znalezieniu tego, co obu wspólne (Bildlichkeit). Oskar Bätschmann odrzuca redukcje, jakim poddaje dzieło sztuki ikonologia i dąży do odkrycia tego, co dzieło samo z siebie ujawnia. Te hermeneutyki kierują ku wyjątkowej swoistej, nieredukowalnej do dyskursu strukturze dzieła. Badanie sztuki średniowiecznej wymaga wyjścia poza ścisłą strukturę wizualną. Podjęto próbę zastosowania procedur właściwych hermeneutyce filozoficznej Hansa Georga Gadamera. Jej podstawą jest istnienie przedpoznania, rzeczywistej wiedzy na temat dzieła oraz stosowanie języka wykluczającego bezrefleksyjne stosowanie kodów. Droga badawcza dalej skierowana jest ku tradycji. W procesie badanie sztuki średniowiecznej nie można od razu zastosować odniesienia dzieła do tradycji. Trzeba postawić dzieło wobec wybranego horyzontu, rzeczywistości, które je otacza, w relacji do horyzontu liturgicznego, egzegetycznego, duchowego i teologiczno-politycznego. Linia spirali biegnie ku horyzontowi, ku momentom tradycji na linii czasu. Konfrontacja z tradycją, to odnalezienie sensu przynależności, momentu w tradycji, momentu wspólności podstawowych zawartości dzieła i rzeczywistości, należących do tradycji. Zastosowanie pojęcia sensu przynależności nie spowoduje utraty własnej hermeneutyki sztuki na rzecz hermeneutyk właściwych dla zawartości tradycji.
Max Imdahl’s hermeneutics distinguishes seeing that recognizes an iconographic subject and one that sees a specific structure of an image. Godfried Böhme’s hermeneutics is a transposition of the visual medium to the pictorial medium, while finding what both have in common, i.e. Bildlichkeit. Oskar Bätschmann’s hermenutics rejects the reductions done by iconology to a work of art and seeks to discover what the work of art reveals by itself. These three hermeneutics direct the researcher’s attention towards the unique, specific structure of the work, irreducible to discourse. The study of medieval art requires going beyond the strict visual structure. An attempt was made to apply procedures inherent in the philosophical hermeneutics of Hans-Georg Gadamer. The basis of this hermeneutics is the existence of pre-cognition, which is the actual knowledge of the work, and the use of language that excludes the unreflective use of codes. A circular research path leads from pre-recognition to tradition. However, in the process of studying medieval art, the reference of a work to tradition cannot be made straight away. A given work must be placed against the horizon which is the reality surrounding it, namely in relation to the liturgical, exegetical, spiritual and theological-political horizons. The spiral line runs then towards the horizon, spiraling into moments of the tradition along the timeline. A confrontation with tradition is finding the sense of belonging, a moment in tradition, a moment of commonality of the basic contents of both the work and the reality, which both belong to tradition. Applying the notion of a sense of belonging will not result in the loss of its own hermeneutics of art in favor of hermeneutics appropriate to the content of tradition.

G. Jung’s analytical psychology, as well inspirations taken from ritual studies, archetypal literary criticism, and transcendental hermeneutics. This combination of interpretational practices shall be applied to the reading and analysis of Wisława Szymborska’s poem Pamięć nareszcie / Memory at Last. My chief aim is to analyse the ritual dimension of the poem (without disregarding, however, the work’s stylistic features). Wiersz Pamięć nareszcie Wisławy Szymborskiej. Interpretacja transestetycznaNiniejszy esej jest próbą połączenia kilku elementów pełniących ważną rolę w takich praktykach interpretacyjnych jak hermeneutyka, eksplikacja tekstu, teoria aktów mowy, psychologia analityczna C. G. Junga, a także inspiracji płynących z badań nad rytuałem i archetypami, wreszcie z hermeneutyki transcendentnej. Połączenie wymienionych praktyk interpretacji będzie służyło lekturze i analizie wiersza Wisławy Szymborskiej Pamięć nareszcie. Moim głównym celem jest analiza rytualnego wymiaru wiersza (choć także jego cech stylistycznych).
