Opis:
Higher education of artists at schools of art is burdened with tension between shaping of the artists’ creativity and preparation of specialists with sometimes unique skills required on the labour market (Bogacz-Wojtanowska, 2019). It is highlighted that higher schools of art should find a method to reconcile both ways and approaches to the concept of education since a graduate - in addition to choosing an artistic path, should be equipped with knowledge, social skills and competences allowing for working in enterprises or public and non-governmental organisations. Moreover, in many countries, the growing focus on the economic dimensions of the effects of education, in particular remuneration of graduates as a measure of success, undermines the directions of development of creative art education (Last, 2017). At the same time, the development of creative education is important for the trajectory of artistic success - it provides the skills required on creative markets and the so-called knowledge-based economy (Tuckett, 2017). The changing conditions on the labour market affect artists more than many other employees and alter the paths of their professional and artistic careers. Instead of long-term employment, we have more and more project work, maintaining many jobs, professional versatility, and diversifying of job portfolios. A typical artistic career is characterised by the diverseness of work organisation, including original creative work, broader application of skills, team work, changing the place of residence because of work, etc. (Menger, 2006; Throsby, Zednik, 2011). The research problem we are undertaking concerns the role and influence of higher schools of art on the artistic success of their graduates. We would like to learn how the paths of artistic success of graduates of art schools are shaped, as well as to identify how they, as well as those who manage these schools, perceive the school’s role in the shaping of these paths. The paper has been prepared on the basis of studies conducted between 2016 and 2018 in 15 (out of the 19 existing) higher schools of art in Poland. It was assumed that studied universities would form a single case study, as part of which mixed, qualitative scientific methods would be used. We have conducted: Individual interviews with two groups of the stakeholders of higher schools of art: graduates (28 in-depth interviews, implemented in 2016); people in charge of higher schools of art (10 in-depth interviews in 2016); Focus interviews with the management staff (rectors, chancellors) of higher schools of art in Poland, conducted in 2016 and 2017.

Opis:
The Higher School of Economics in Sopot and the Higher School of Pedagogy in Gdansk were universities established just after World War II and strongly ideologized in the 1950s. The purpose of this article is to reconstruct the events that took place during the October transition at both universities and also to identify the changes these events led to at party meetings. The introduction discusses the history of the WSE in Sopot and the WSE in Gdansk from the time of their establishment until 1956 and outlines the elements of ideological pressure applied to employees and students. An analysis of the minutes of university bodies (staff meetings, Senates) and party bodies at the universities (POP and KU PZPR) and above the universities (KM PZPR in Sopot, KW PZPR in Gdansk), memoirs of students and employees, and newspaper articles were used to achieve the goal. The changes that took place at the universities were primarily concerned with democratization, greater openness in discussion (while remaining faithful to broad Marxist ideology), changes in the conceptual instrumentarium and criticism of both the USSR and national and university authorities. Virtually all groups comprising the WSE and WSP academic community were involved in the 1956 changes, albeit to varying degrees and in different forms. Employees were more involved at meetings of university and party committees, while students were involved at rallies and in the forums of youth organizations.

Opis:
Zmieniona ustawa o szkolnictwie wyższym "Prawo o szkolnictwie wyższym" 2005, wprowadziła zmiany nazewnictwa uczelni wyższych w zależności od liczby uprawnień do nadawania stopni naukowych doktora. Spowodowało to ożywiony ruch w całym środowisku akademickim nad przekształceniem obecnych nazw uczelni na uniwersytety, będące w myśl Ustawy najwyższą formą organizacyjną wyższych uczelni. Dotyczy to także a może przede wszystkim uczelni rolniczych, z których większość wywodzi się właśnie z uniwersytetów.
The changed Higher Education Act introduced changes in nomenclature of the higher schools according to the number of qualifications to grant scientific doctor's degrees. This resulted in brisk activity in the whole academic circles to transform current names of the schools into universities, according to the Act being the highest organizational form of higher schools. This applies also or maybe first of all to agricultural schools, the majority of which originate from universities.

Opis:
Contemporary socio-economic changes, in particular mobility of employees and the demographic crisis, make it necessary for social security systems to adapt to them. Education in specific areas also has a number of consequences for social security systems, i.a. it impacts the possibilities of finding a job, remuneration, or ways of establishing an employment relationship, which, on the other hand, determines young people’s interest in the performance of specific professions. Economic reasons and legal provisions allow for establishing the so-called "non-employee employment relationships", which include civil law contracts, i.e. contracts for specific work, contracts of mandate, and agency agreements. Non-employee type employment often also includes management contracts and self-employment. Non-employee labour relationships often generate some current savings, but they entail a number of negative phenomena such as, i.e.: lack or limitation of insurance premiums, or depriving an employee of the right to paid holidays. This article aims at showing the problems of a specific professional group represented by graduates of higher schools of art Poland from the perspective of the social security system, as well as indicating recommendations in this area. Artists and creators in Poland have been struggling with numerous problems in this area. Irregular work, often provided on the basis of a civil law contract, and in particular contracts for specific work, consequently leads to non-payment of social security premiums, and thus the lack of pension and annuity, accident, sickness, and health benefits or not having the right to a leave. In the long-term perspective, this obviously means that receiving allowances, and above all retirement benefits is not possible. The paper has been prepared on the basis of studies conducted between 2016 and 2018 in 15 (out of the 19 existing) higher schools of art in Poland. We used mixed research methods, both qualitative and quantitative. We have conducted the following: Individual interviews with the three groups of stakeholders of higher schools of art: graduates (28 in-depth interviews conducted in 2016); managers of higher schools of art (10 in-depth interviews conducted in 2016) and employers who employed graduates of art schools of art (28 in-depth interviews with representatives of public organisations, NGOs, and companies); Focus interviews with the management staff (rectors, chancellors) of art schools in Poland, conducted in 2016 and 2017; CAWI (Computer Assisted Web Interviewing) surveys, conducted every year between 2016 and 2018 with graduates of higher schools of art (surveys of ca. 2500 graduates from the years 2012-2017 were analysed).

Opis:
Subject and purpose of work: The objective of this elaboration is to specify the place of state higher vocational schools from the Lublin voivodeship in development strategies of various territorial levels. Materials and methods: The method of document research was applied within this elaboration, which consists of analysing the content of strategies and development plans. Within the study the induction method was also used (stage of literary studies), analysis and synthesis (stage of empirical research), deduction method (conceptual stage). Results: References to state vocational schools occur more frequently in diagnostic segments than the programming ones of these strategic documents. Territorial self-government units (TSU) of the Chełmski subregion consider to a larger degree and thus, appreciate the functioning and public functions of vocational schools than it is the case with the Bialski or Zamojski subregions. Conclusions: Within the regional strategic documents of the Lublin Voivodeship, statements referring to higher education refer rather to general matters. Within the local strategic documents, one may more frequently encounter more direct and literal references to the methods of possibilities of cooperation and co-action between TSU and business with state vocational schools for the benefit of local territorial arrangements.
