Wskazano w nim, posługując się licznymi przykładami, na fakt, że doboru rodzaju materiałów, schematów statycznych ustrojów nośnych, rodzaju wyposażenia i kolorystyki wiaduktu należy dokonywać w zależności od formy terenu i charakteru otaczającego środowiska. W tej części zostały podniesione kwestie harmonijnego wpisania wiaduktu w krajobraz, m.in. przez zastosowanie w ich wystroju elementów charakterystycznych dla kultury i sztuki regionu

Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono wyniki prac mających na celu określenie skutków wprowadzania opłat za użytkowanie najważniejszych dróg kołowych na terenie Republiki Słowacji. Efektem wprowadzenia opłat jest przeniesienie się części ruchu zarobkowego na drogi niższych klas technicznych, korzystanie z których jest bezpłatne.
This article presents the problems of prepayment of highways, high-speed roads and selected sections of roads of the first class network of roads in the Slovak Republic, especially the positive and negative impact of prepayment on commercial traffic behavior. The economic effects of prepayment go towards the positive impact. They will include revenue for next development of roads and highways network. The charge will depend on traffic loads. These charges present real utilizations of roads or highways network. Every user -'li pay in equity. The main negative impact will be the increase of traffic loads on parallel . This increase raised the external and operating loads.

Opis:: Traffic telematics systems have been used to increase road capacity as well as safety. On highways, this is accomplished with the usage of so called highway management systems, which among others through speed harmonization, ramp metering, informing about weather conditions or danger on road addresses these issues. Such system was recently implemented for the first time also in the Czech Republic. In this paper, the results from the first months of operation will be provided. First, the expected theoretical effects of such system on traffic flow characteristics will be provided and discussed. These effects follow the theoretical foundations of traffic flow theory, represented for example by fundamental diagram or changes to road capacity due to speed harmonization. Based on the measured data, the results of the particular implementation in the city of Prague, Czech Republic will be provided. The results will be discussed and compared to international experiences.

Opis:: Jednym z najciekawszych drogowych projektów amerykańskich ostatnich lat jest obejście zapory Hoovera na granicy stanów Arizona i Nevada w południowo-zachodniej części Stanów Zjednoczonych. Na szczególną uwagę zasługuje część mostowa projektu, a zwłaszcza przekroczenie kanionu rzeki Colorado mostem łukowym o długości 579 m (1900 ft.) spinającym brzegi kanionu i usytuowanym około 260 m powyżej jego dna. Drogowa część projektu wymagała budowy 6-kilometrowego odcinka autostradowego w trudnym pustynno-górzystym terenie.
One of the most interesting American highway projects of the last decade was the construction of the Hoover Dam Bypass. The project, which was located on the border of Arizona and Nevada, required a new crossing of the Colorado River. The new, 579 m long, bridge is a spectacular concrete arch with a composite concrete-steel superstructure. The highway portion project required a construction of a 6,3 km long section of a new freeway in a very dificult mountainous terrain

Opis:: Aim: The purpose of this article is to present the latest advances in big data applications in the industries of the transportation sector such as airline, highway, and railway. It is difficult to analyze data in transportation because there is continuous real-time data flow. Since the improvements made are fast with the same logic, it is necessary to catch up with the new developments. Data should be analyzed with the big data concept because data stacks highly contain non-structural data types in transportation data. Although the mentioned industries are complementary to each other, the applications differ depending on the needs of the industry. Thus, solutions to specific problems in different industries using big data applications should be addressed. Design / Research methods: In accordance with the purpose of the study, big data studies that provide added value to the transportation sector were examined. Studies have been filtered through some criteria which are whether the application is adaptable to the industry, the study is available online in full-text, and its references are from respectable sources. Conclusions / findings: All the big data application studies in the academy are not adaptable in real-life problems or suitable for all situations. For this reason, trying all of the applications will lead to moral and material losses for firms. This study is a guideline for companies to follow the developments in the big data concept and to choose the one that suits their problems. Thus, the gap between academia and industry was tried to close. Originality / value of the article: Although studies are referring to big data applications in the transportation sector, this study differs from others in terms of specifically analyzing big data applications in different industries such as airline, highway, and railway in the transportation sector

Opis:: The article presents the possibilities of advance development of detailed organization-technical plans for the repair of Highway Strips, which will enable their effective use, particularly during combat operations – while maintaining the required time and technical standards at the same time. The main objectives of Highway Strips were presented; their role in securing military aviation activities and historical conditions for their creation. The concept of HS (Highway Strip) was defined along with the modern principles for their construction, modernization and renovation. Based on a selected example, the principles for evaluating the technical condition of their pavement and the repair possibility assessment were presented. At the same time, typical damage to HSs and factors affecting such damage were presented. Next, the methods and technologies for repairing various types of bituminous pavement damage repairs were discussed, with particular emphasis on the methods of repairing cracks, surface damage, deep damage and asphalt renovation. A schedule for the “Wielbark” highway strip was also developed, and the necessary calculations of the repair times, as well as the resources and resources for securing these operations were made. The article is concluded with a short summary and a proposal for further work, aimed at inhibiting the destructive processes of Highway Strips in Poland.
