The article presents issues related to solutions with light clay and straw bales in the contemporary housing construction. Building using straw bales and light clay is simple, eco-friendly and accessible to all. It fits in the ideas of sustainable development, supports local businesses and gives the opportunity to integrate people while designing and building a house. The article presents the thermal analysis for this type of walls and subsequent conclusions that allow the treatment of straw and light clay as a viable alternative to the commonly used technologies of erecting buildings.

Participation in the creation of a social housing association in its proper functioning is a very important part in the implementation of housing policy. In spite of this, the institution of the society is still insufficiently clarified, since determininga flat which in 30% is financed by a citizen as a social one seems to be a vague term. Opis:
The paper presents a comparative analysis of Machine Learning (ML) research methods allowing to assess the risk of mining damage occurring in traditional masonry buildings located in the mining area of Legnica-Głogów Copper District (LGOM) as a result of intense mining tremors. The database of reports on damage that occurred after the tremors of 20 February 2002, 16 May 2004 and 21 May 2006 formed the basis for the analysis. Based on these data, classification models were created using the Probabilistic Neural Network (PNN) and the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method. The results of previous research studies allowed to include structural and geometric features of buildings,as well as protective measures against mining tremors in the model. The probabilistic notation of the model makes it possible to effectively assess the probability of damage in the analysis of large groups of building structures located in the area of paraseismic impacts. The results of the conducted analyses confirm the thesis that the proposed methodology may allow to estimate, with the appropriate probability, the financial outlays that the mining plant should secure for the repair of the expected damage to the traditional development of the LGOM mining area.

The article analyses housing cooperatives in terms of their impact on the real estate market in Poland. The author reflects on why this type of social initiatives is of marginal importance for housing construction in Poland. For the development of this sector, development barriers need to be identified, which is the aim of the article. An attempt will also be made to determine whether the implemented European Union policy or new national programmes can become an impulse for the renewed development of cooperative construction in Poland.

The main purpose of the study is to verify the hypothesis on the occurrence of a long-term relationship between the average prices of 1m2 UFA (i.e. Usable Floor Area) and the construction costs of residential real estate per 1m2 for selected 5 cities of Eastern Poland (Białystok, Kielce, Lublin, Olsztyn & Rzeszów). The panel model for cointegrated variables and panel cointegration tests are the tools of the analysis. On the basis of the econometric model constructed, the long-term elasticity coefficient, which shows how average prices of flats change (i.e. the price of 1m2 UFA) in selected cities of Eastern Poland as a result of changes in their production costs, was estimated.

W kontekście obecnych zjawisk demograficznych – postępującej depopulacji i starzenia się społeczeństwa – zrewidowania wymagają dominujące priorytety rozwojowe: wzrost gospodarczy oraz pozyskiwanie nowych mieszkańców miast i wsi. Kontynuacja dotychczasowego paradygmatu rozwojowego opartego o wzrost w kontekście urbanistycznym spowoduje zanikanie terenów otwartych, dalsze rozlewanie się miast, wyludnianie się terenów zdegradowanych oraz pogłębianie się negatywnych trendów dezurbanizacyjnych (powstawanie tzw. nie-miasta). W artykule przedstawiono możliwe do przeprowadzenia w ramach regionalnej polityki mieszkaniowej działania, które odpowiadają postulowanemu kierunkowi przemian regionów opartemu na adaptacji zamiast na rozwoju ilościowym oraz na współpracy zamiast na rywalizacji. Zaproponowane rozwiązania opierają się na obserwacji rozwiązań niemieckich, hiszpańskich oraz amerykańskich, a także na badaniach własnych autorki.
In the context of the current demographics trends – depopulation and aging society – dominant development priorities such, as economic growth and gaining new inhabitants require revision. Continuation of the existing development paradigm based on the growth will result in further loss of open areas, urban sprawl, depopulation of degraded areas and deepening negative desurbanisation trends (the formation of the socalled non-city). The article presents feasible measures of regional housing policy that correspond to desirable direction of change: adaptation instead of growth and cooperation instead of competition. The proposed solutions are based on the observation of German, English Spanish and American solutions, as well as the author's own research.
