Opis:
The article discusses the position of young researchers within the field of Polish pedagogy. The article is based on a simple survey. The main objective of the texts is to analyze fundamental problems that the group in question is faced with. The key questions referring to young Polish researchers of pedagogy cover three areas: day-to-day reality of young researchers; research funding system; prospects and visions of changes of the current situation. Also, these three areas govern the structure of the article. In the final part, I attempt to present the main conclusions of the conducted analyses.

Opis:
Hermeneutic approach in pedagogy refers to two following areas: to methodology of research and to theory of education. Hermeneutics denied the objectivity of knowledge in the humanities. Actually the purpose of hermeneutic pedagogy is not the search for evidence supporting the objective notions, but the search for legitimate interpretations in the sphere of educational reality. The aim of this paper is to define the foundational methods of such legitimization. Statements proper for hermeneutic pedagogy are not objective in the positivistic sense; they should have the virtue of intersubjectivity and be open to verification. Methods of legitimization ought to embrace various understandings of educational reality in the form of cultural text and social behavior. The other field of hermeneutic research in pedagogy is the hermeneutic theory of education. It is focused on the category of understanding as the ground of education. In this case the pedagogy’s aim is to balance the subjectivism rooted in the ontology of understanding. It may be achieved through the emphasis laid on intersubjectivity of understanding, both in its dialogical and communicative aspects.

Opis:
A canon is a word of religious origin. It constituted a basic aim of education at the university level. However, that time came to an end when the idea of universality was replaced with the idea of perfection (implicitly a clerk-like perfection). Ressentiment (a repressed feeling, described by Nietzsche and later by Scheler) acts against a higher ability to enjoy cultural pleasure; it creates a contemporary human as a man of labour and utility who cannot make use of the so-called cultural assets (from the canon). Depending on which field the idea of a canon refers to, we will understand it as such. It is most associated with art where it functions as a set of models, rules and methods of creation current in a given period of culture. There are three semantic fields of the background needed to examine the notion of a canon: culture, time and space (I dedicated two chapters of the paper to each). Today, a humanist has completely new roles, since not only did culture change but also time and space – the basic “forms of sensuality”, which Kant defined as our main point of orientation and a ground for thinking about the world. Coping with the canon was mainly intended to teach good choices, not only the choices regarding texts. It may be the most important mission of humanists: to show the canon and teach how to choose one of our own. Now we are observing a kind of fear of the canon (Bloom). We are irritated with what we cannot understand. The biggest load of ressentiment lies within society, in which social equality, both political and formal, goes hand in hand with very large discrepancies in terms of actual power, wealth and education. Today, humanist reflection on culture even left the political level, related to knowledge, and entered a lower, more fundamental level connected with satisfying basic needs. The only role of a contemporary “humanist” is to free themself of illusions, i.e. also of the excess of texts. Our globalised space is ruled by quick rankings and summaries of texts. We lost the need to which art responded – to determine the eternal perspective of life.

Opis:
The aim of this study is to explain the implementation of ecotourism and the humanist (eco-humanist) perspective in the tourism space of Grand Maerakaca. This research has used qualitative methods to explore issues related to these concepts as implemented in Grand Maerakaca. Observations and interviews with tourists from various demographic segments were conducted to get information related to their ability to access ecotourism spaces. The results show that not all tourist providers in Grand Maerakaca implement the eco-humanist concept such as shown by the absence of local community participation and the empowerment of vulnerable groups. Besides, some tourist paths are inaccessible and dangerous for older tourists and children. Some of these are reasons why Grand Maerakaca is not attractive to tourists. The findings were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques to obtain a perspective related to ecohumanist implementation in Grand Maerakaca. The output of this research is to suggest forms of this implementation in tourist spaces in Grand Maerakaca that can accommodate all tourists and can increase tourist visits.

Opis:
Taking as a starting point William Blake’s indictment of the enslaving powers of militarism, the article looks at different conceptions of mastery, chiefly in the work of Friedrich Nietzsche and Martin Heidegger, also referring to Blake’s poetry and the literary figures of Hamlet and Robinson Crusoe. Nietzsche’s critique of slave morality and Heidegger’s analysis of the metaphysics of the will to power reveal a number of contradictions inherent in the concept of mastery, including the disavowal of bodily vulnerabilities and ecological interdependences. What Heidegger sees as the modern project of “absolute humanisation” is thus read alongside the posthumanist critique of human domination, including domination over nature, in the work of Claire Colebrook, Timothy Morton and Jean-Luc Nancy, among others. Such constructions of mastery tend to also erase their dependence on the exploitation of labour, including the toil of the slaves and women. What posthumanist critique appears to aim at is a shift from the rationality of pure reason to the relationality of earthly cohabitation, which calls for a relinquishing of mastery for an openness to uncertainty and vulnerability.

Humanist marriage ceremonies in Poland : re-enchantment and four social constructions of the sacred
Autorzy:
Rejowska, Agata
Opis:
The article is based on empirical research on humanist (individualized and mostly secular) weddings conducted in Poland between the years 2016 and 2020. As an emerging new form of civic rituality, humanist marriage ceremonies affect the ritual landscape of Poland, and by doing so they change the status quo. One can perceive their appearance as a sign of secularization and detachment from the institutionalized religion of the dominant Catholic Church, but also other religious transformations encompassed by the term of re-enchantment, such as the emergence of less formalized, alternative spiritualities, and changes in the field of institutionalized religion, namely its privatization. In my analysis, I go beyond such binaries as religious/secular, sacred/profane, sacred/secular and demonstrate that humanist wedding ceremonies deploy four different kinds of the sacred (the character of these categories is analytical rather than substantial): religious-sacred; nonreligious-sacred; spiritual-sacred and secular-sacred.
