Opis:
An array of floating point-absorbing wave energy converters (WECs) is usually employed for extracting efficiently ocean wave energy. For deep water environment, it is more feasible and convenient to connect the absorbers array with a floating body, such as a semi-submersible bottom-moored disk, whose function is to act as the virtual seabed. In the present work, an array of identical floating symmetrically distributed cylinders in a coaxial moored disk as a wave energy device is proposed The power take-off (PTO) system in the wave energy device is assumed to be composed of a linear/nonlinear damper activated by the buoys heaving motion. Hydrodynamic analysis of the examined floating system is implemented in frequency domain. Hydrodynamic interferences between the oscillating bodies are accounted for in the corresponding coupled equations. The array layouts under the constraint of the disk, incidence wave directions, separating distance between the absorbers and the PTO damping are considered to optimize this kind of WECs. Numerical results with regular waves are presented and discussed for the axisymmetric system utilizing heave mode with these interaction factors, in terms of a specific numbers of cylinders and expected power production.

Opis:
As a very important element of most water supply systems, valves are exposed to the effects of strong hydrodynamic forces. When exposed to large physical quantities, the valve and piping can be damaged, which could endanger the performance of a water supply system. This is the main reason why it is necessary to foresee and determine the maximum values of velocity, pressure and other physical quantities that can occur in the system under certain conditions. Predicting extreme conditions allows us to correctly size the valve for the expected conditions to which the valve might be exposed, which is also the main objective of this paper. One of the methods for predicting and determining extreme values on a valve is to perform a simulation with computational fluid dynamics (CFD). This is exactly the method used in the preparation of this paper with the aim of gaining insight into the physical magnitudes for models of gate valves positioned inside a pipe under characteristic degrees of valve closure. The Ansys CFX 19.1 and Ansys Fluent 19.1 software was used to simulate the hydrodynamic analysis and obtain the required results. Opis:
Multi-phase flow is one of the types of flow which is frequently observed in natural phenomena and engineering applications. Circulating fluidized beds constitute an important application of multi-phase flow. The combustion and emission behaviours in circulating fluidized beds are determined by hydrodynamic of bearing. The most appropriate combustion can be provided with the hydrodynamic structure of bearing, taking into account fuel and operating parameters. Therefore, the hydrodynamic structure of circulating fluidized beds should be displayed with mathematical/physical modelling and simulation approach for its analysis and synthesis. Mathematical analysis in today's conditions is very difficult or impossible because of excessive turbulence, unstable and two-phase flow characteristics of the bed. Therefore, the most effective way to do this is the use the physical modelling and simulation approach. In this study, 8 MW circulating fluidized bed hydrodynamic analysis are made by ANSYS-FLUENT R14 commercial CFD code and then combustion and emissions analysis are made with hydrodynamic analysis results. These analysis results show that combustion chamber exit mean NO_x emission was 38.5 ppm and combustion chamber exit mean temperature was 1123 K.

W artykule dokonano analizy hydrodynamicznej elementu konstrukcji podwodnej. Konstrukcja posadowiona jest na dnie morza w strefie brzegowej. Dno jest gruntem nieprzepuszczalnym wody. Elementy konstrukcji podwodnej mają kształt „nóg” jak na rys.1. Falowanie wody wywołuje pole ciśnień na elementy podwodne. Obciążenia hydrodynamiczne na powierzchniach zwilżonych wyznaczono przez całkowanie rozkładów ciśnień. Są to siły poziome i pionowe. Przy braku falowania występują tylko siły poziome wywołane ciśnieniem hydrostatycznym i siły pionowe działające na wierzch konstrukcji zanurzonej.
The article analyzes the hydrodynamic underwater structure element. The structure is placed on the seabed in the coastal zone. The bottom is impermeable ground water. Elements of underwater structure are shaped "legs" as in Figure 1. Water ripple causes pressure field on underwater elements. Hydrodynamic loads on wetted surfaces were determined by integrating the pressure distribution. These forces are horizontal and vertical. In the absence of waves occur only horizontal forces caused by hydrostatic pressure and vertical forces acting on the top of the submerged structure.

Opis:
To analyse the existing mathematical models of hydrodynamic forces and moment on the ship's hull and build new effective ones, an approach based on multivariate regression analysis is suggested. As factors (regressors), various dimensionless ratios of the geometric parameters of the vessel, such as length, breadth, draught, and block coefficient, were taken. When analysing existing mathematical models of hydrodynamic derivatives and building new ones, the value of the multiple correlation coefficient R and the value of standard errors were estimated. The significance of the models and the significance of all factors (regressors) included in the model were assessed using Fisher's and Student's criteria. As a result, new adequate mathematical models have been obtained for hydrodynamic constants with a high degree of correlation and an excellent level of significance of regressors.

Opis:
The primary purpose of the paper is to identify port areas most exposed to extreme hydrodynamic conditions (waves, sea currents, seabed level change). The results of modelling using SWAN wave model, MIKE 3D model, and reanalysis and measurement data were used in paper. Swell may exceed 0.8 m for winds exceeding 15 m s-1 from the west and south. During extreme conditions, sea currents can reach 0.4 ms-1 in the outer part of the bay adjacent to the port. Port basins do not show changes in the thickness of the seabed for the given maximum values of bottom currents. The most extensive deposition of the seabed and shore sediments (up to 0.04 m) is found on the Gdynia-Oksywie beach adjacent to the port and the approach fairway at the offshore currents. The outer area of the main breakwater is the most exposed to erosive activity (-0.012 m).

Opis:
The linear analysis of the stability of a hydrodynamic bearing is used to determine the stability boundaries and to predict if the steady state is stable or not. A nonlinear or weakly nonlinear model is used to determine the behaviour of the system near the critical stability boundaries. By applying the Hopf bifurcation theory, the existence of stable or unstable limit cycles in the neighbourhood of the stability boundaries can be predicted depending on the characteristics of the bearing.A numerical integration of the nonlinear equations of motion is then carried out in order to verify the results obtained analytically.
