Opis:: When combining spatial data from various sources, it is often important to determine similarity or identity of spatial objects. Besides the differences in geometry, representations of spatial objects are inevitably more or less uncertain. Fuzzy set theory can be used to address both modelling of the spatial objects uncertainty and determining the identity, similarity, and inclusion of two sets as fuzzy identity, fuzzy similarity, and fuzzy inclusion. In this paper, we propose to use fuzzy measures to determine the similarity or identity of two uncertain spatial object representations in geographic information systems. Labelling the spatial objects by the degree of their similarity or inclusion measure makes the process of their identification more efficient. It reduces the need for a manual control. This leads to a more simple process of spatial datasets update from external data sources. We use this approach to get an accurate and correct representation of historical streams, which is derived from contemporary digital elevation model, i.e. we identify the segments that are similar to the streams depicted on historical maps.

Niniejsza praca została poświęcona analizie największej mniejszości narodowej bez państwa jaką są Kurdowie, na przykładzie społeczności kurdyjskiej zamieszkującej Turcję. Przedstawione zostały w niej sposoby ochrony praw mniejszości oraz organizacje odpowiedzialne za tę ochronę. Ponadto omówiono pojęcie mniejszości w ujęciu ogólnym, a także przedstawiono typologię mniejszości biorąc pod uwagę różne kryteria. Wyjaśniono również wpływ mniejszości narodowych na bezpieczeństwo państwa. Czytelnik znajdzie tutaj wyjaśnienie kim są Kurdowie, skąd pochodzą, jakim mówią językiem oraz jaką religię wyznają. Dowie się również jak budowało się ich poczucie świadomości narodowej. Przedstawione zostały przyczyny i skutki konfliktu pomiędzy narodami. Wiele uwagi poświęcono również poszanowaniu praw mniejszości oraz wysiłkowi w dążeniach tureckich Kurdów do samostanowienia. Poruszona została kwestia łamania praw człowieka w krajach zamieszkiwanych przez Kurdów. Przedstawione zostały wybrane przykłady rzezi oraz ludobójstwa ludności kurdyjskiej. Ukazano stanowisko społeczności międzynarodowej, kalkulacje geopolityczne w kontekście propaństwowych aspiracji Kurdów, a także rozważania dotyczycące możliwości wyjścia z kryzysu oraz perspektyw powstania niepodległego państwa kurdyjskiego.
All nations have the right to self-determination. This work is devoted to the analysis of the largest national minority without a state - the Kurds, based on the example of the Kurdish community living in Turkey. It presents ways of protecting the rights of minorities and the organizations responsible for this protection. In addition, the concept of minorities in general was discussed, and the typology of minorities was presented, taking into account various criteria. The influence of national minorities on state security was also explained. The reader will find here an explanation of who the Kurds are, where they come from, what language they speak and what religion they profess. He will also learn how their sense of national consciousness was built. The reasons are presentedand the effects of conflict between nations.The attention was also paid to respecting minority rights and the efforts made by Turkish Kurds towards self-determination. The issue of breaking the human rights in countries inhabited by Kurds. Selected examples of the slaughter and genocide of the Kurdish people were presented. It shows the position of the international community, geopolitical calculations in the context of the pro-state aspirations of the Kurds, as well as reflections on the possibility of overcoming the crisis and the prospects for an independent Kurdish state.

Rola tożsamości narodowej w dążeniach niepodległościowych Katalończyków

Wszystkie te elementy ewoluując i umacniając się w długim procesie historycznym dały fundament pod dążenia autonomiczne, które później przerodziły się w roszczenia niepodległościowe stawiane względem Hiszpanii. Apogeum tego zjawiska nastąpiło 1 października 2017 r. w obliczu nielegalnego referendum niepodległościowego przeprowadzonego przez rząd w Katalonii, które szybko zostało unieważnione przez władze w Madrycie. Celem niniejszej pracy jest ukazanie historyczno-politycznych uwarunkowań ruchu separatystycznego w Katalonii, kontrowersji z nim związanych a także przedstawienie elementów tożsamości narodowej Katalończyków, które szczególnie się do niego przyczyniły. Hipotezą pracy jest stwierdzenie, że ze względu na rozbudowany zbiór elementów składających się na tożsamość narodową Katalończyków, ruch niepodległościowy stale się umacnia. Dodatkowym celem jest dowiedzenie hipotezy, że choć od ostatniego referendum minęło już kilka lat, to ruch dążący do niepodległości w Katalonii nadal pozostaje aktywny, o czym świadczą najnowsze wydarzenia ukazujące napięcia na linii Barcelona-Madryt. W procesie analizy powyższych zagadnień zastosowane zostały: jakościowa metoda analizy treści, metoda historyczna, metoda opisu danych statystycznych oraz metoda systemowa. Przeprowadzona analiza dowiodła o niebagatelnym znaczeniu tożsamości narodowej w formowaniu postulatów niepodległościowych i politycznych przez Katalończyków. Nie sposób wyobrazić sobie ruchu niepodległościowego w Katalonii bez ogromnego zaplecza symboli zarówno materialnych jak i niematerialnych jej społeczności. Stanowią one bowiem dla Katalończyków medium wyrażania własnej odmienności, które jest wyraźnie akcentowane po dzień dzisiejszy.
The national identity manifested in a specific sense of separateness by the Catalans plays a key role in their independence pursuit. It consists of a number of elements, including: rich cultural property, Catalan language, religion, a collection of various symbols as well as a separate mentality and sense of collective consciousness. All these elements, evolving and strengthening in the long historical process, initially became the foundation of autonomous pursuit, turning into independence claims made against Spain. This phenomenon reached its peak on October 1, 2017, in the face of an illegal independence referendum carried by the government in Catalonia, which was quickly revoked by the authorities in Madrid. The aim of my Bachelor thesis is to present the historical and political conditions of the separatist movement in Catalonia, the controversies associated with it, as well as to present the elements of Catalans national identity that contributed towards it in a particular way. The hypothesis of the paper is that due to the expansive set of elements that make up the national identity of Catalans, the independence movement is steadily strengthening. An additional aim of the thesis is to prove that the movement for independence in Catalonia is still active, as evidenced by the latest developments showing tensions between Barcelona and Madrid, even though several years have passed since the last referendum. In the process of analyzing the above-mentioned issues, the following aspects were taken into consideration: qualitative method of content analysis, historical method, statistical data description and the system method. The conducted analysis proved the considerable importance of national identity in the formation of Catalans independence and political postulates. It is impossible to imagine the independence movement in Catalonia without a huge background of both material and non-material symbols of its community. For Catalans the symbols are the incentives of expressing their own otherness, which is clearly emphasized until present day.

Opis:: Recently, with regard to the Middle East, Slovak and foreign media have focused on the situation in Syria. However, equally important is political development in Iraqi Kurdistan in which plebiscite in September 2017 showed that almost 90 percent of Kurds request independent Iraqi Kurdistan. According to many indicators and claims by geopolitical analysts, the conflict between Baghdad central government and Iraqi Kurds is growing and will escalate, what will lead to an increase of Iraqi Kurdish struggles to establish a state independent of Iraq. Our study, however, wants to point out to the fact that there are also opposing trends indicating of continual centralization of Iraq and the Kurdistan integration into the Iraqi state. Based on this analysis we criticize the thesis of American geopolitical theorists such as R. Peters the emergence of an independent Kurdistan.

Opis:: The aim of my article is to examine tattoo acquisition in the context of an emerging individualized society in contemporary Poland. The theoretical framework of my project will be the widespread sociological conception of individualization process according to which structural and cultural changes – specific to late modernity – are dissembedding individuals from traditional frames of reference, giving them unprecedented scope of freedom, but simultaneously making them responsible for shaping their own identity. Referring to empirical data gathered during my research, I will try to show the role played by tattoo acquisition in the broader process of identity formation. I will distinguish two main moments of identity work: the moment of expression, where tattoo acquisition serves as a tool enabling individuals to articulate and express their own identity, and the performative moment, where tattoo acquisitions enables them to shape and negotiate their identity. In this article I will focus on two different aspects of identity work oriented towards self-creation: on creative transformation and aestetization of one’s own body and on negotiation of personal freedom and agency mediated by tattooing.

Dlatego Inni wciąż pozostają w opozycji do sprawnego funkcjonowania Domu.
Presenting a nursing home, the author will try to use his professional experience, due to regular presence in one of such institution as well as his own observation to describe and symbolically open the world of its inhabitants. He will try to show the processes of compulsion and enslaving, processes present in functioning of the Institution, resulting from accepted ideas, assumptions and contracts. He would also like to point out the unique and specific, different from the rest, group of inhabitants. The Others have no interests nor hobbies. Due to that, the social inclusion of them is not an easy task, especially when it comes to the typical Institution, which is not the place, where the Other prefers to, or just has to, spend the rest of one’s life. That is why the Others keep staying in the opposition to the rules enabling the nursing home to work efficiently.

Opis:: The article examines the specifics of the formation of professional identity in military institutions of higher education. The idea that the development of higher military education remains a priority task of Ukrainian state-building is emphasized. The term „professional military education” is explained, referring to specialized military education, which is obtained under educational programs at the appropriate levels of military education in order to improve the professional level of a military specialist. It is proved that the formation of the professional identity of applicants of higher military education is a long process of qualitative modification of their inner world, which correlates with the stages of professionalization by enriching social subjectivity, self actualization, and self-fulfillment in military professional activities. That is why, identification is proposed to be perceived as the main mechanism of socialization of an individual, translation of military-professional corporate values, and professional adaptation, which contributes to the freedom of individual development, enrichment, and diversity of meanings of activity. The role of the „self-concept” as a cognitive system for regulating behavior in various life conditions, in accordance with which there is a search for the meaning of one’s own existence, and the formation of an internal position, is emphasized. It is determined that the educational and professional environment in military institutions of higher education provides for constant problematization by solving several non-standard professional tasks that are projected onto a multidisciplinary structure of professional training, which has a systematic, progressive, and dynamic nature. It is shown that a developed sense of professional identity allows an individual to build his or her own professional perspective, taking into account the specifics of the acquired military professional experience and integration into the valuable military experience of foreign countries.
W artykule przeanalizowano specyfikę kształtowania się tożsamości zawodowej w wojskowych szkołach wyższych. Podkreślono ideę, że rozwój wyższego szkolnictwa wojskowego pozostaje priorytetowym zadaniem ukraińskiego państwowo budowa. Wyjaśniono termin “zawodowe wykształcenie wojskowe”, które odnosi się do specjalistycznego wykształcenia wojskowego, które uzyskuje się w ramach programów edukacyjnych na odpowiednich poziomach szkolnictwa wojskowego w celu podniesienia poziomu zawodowego specjalisty wojskowego. Wykazano, że kształtowanie się tożsamości zawodowej kandydatów na wyższe wykształcenie wojskowe jest długotrwałym procesem jakościowej modyfikacji ich świata wewnętrznego, który koreluje z etapami profesjonalizacji poprzez wzbogacanie podmiotowości społecznej, samorealizację i samorealizację w działalności wojskowo zawodowej. Dlatego proponuje się postrzeganie identyfikacji jako głównego mechanizmu socjalizacji jednostki, przekładu wojskowo-zawodowych wartości korporacyjnych i adaptacji zawodowej, która przyczynia się do swobody indywidualnego rozwoju, wzbogacania i różnorodności znaczeń działania. Podkreślono rolę “samoświadomości” jako poznawczego systemu regulującego zachowania w różnych warunkach życiowych, który implikuje osobiste i zawodowe poziomy samostanowienia, zgodnie z którymi odbywa się poszukiwanie sens własnego istnienia, kształtowanie się pozycji wewnętrznej. Stwierdzono, że środowisko edukacyjne i zawodowe w uczelniach wojskowych zapewnia ciągłą problematyzację poprzez rozwiązywanie szeregu niestandardowych zadań zawodowych, które rzutowane są na multidyscyplinarną strukturę kształcenia zawodowego, która ma charakter systematyczny, progresywny i dynamiczny. Podsumowując, rozwinięte poczucie tożsamości zawodowej pozwala jednostce budować własną perspektywę zawodową, biorąc pod uwagę specyfikę zdobytego wojskowego doświadczenia zawodowego i integrację z cennym doświadczeniem wojskowym obcych państw.

Sociological investigations show the ever changing meaning of concepts of individual, identity, obligation towards self and others, and also culture, university, religion. In consumerist societies these concepts become fluid. Not only the project of a life style becomes market-oriented, but also that of self-fulfilment. The personal identity requires attention, goals, values, a language. Personal identity requires reflection. Kant, Wittgenstein, Heidegger, Wojtyła and Taylor provide guidelines as how to examine this kind of reflection.
