Opis:: The experimental examinations of gas flame suppression by a high speed impulse liquid jet generated by a powder impulse hydro-cannon have been carried out. The speed of the impulse jet depending on charge energy has ranged from 300 to 600m/s. The speed of the jet head right near the flame has been measured by a laser non-contact measuring device, the flow has been photographed. It has been shown that the high-speed cloud of splashes with a big cross-section around the jet is being formed. It effectively forces down the flame of the gas on distances 5-20m from installation.

Opis:: Zastosowanie modelu uproszczonego udaru piorunowego i określenie jego znormalizowanych parametrów pozwala na standaryzację oraz na wykorzystanie takiego modelu w badaniach związanych z ochroną odgromową. Można, zgodnie z przyjętym poziomem prawdopodobieństwa, założyć wartości maksymalne wybranych parametrów udaru piorunowego. Wartości te podlegają na ogół rozkładowi statystycznemu logarytmonormalnemu. Znormalizowane rodzaje i parametry dla typowych udarów piorunowych pozwoliły na stworzenie znacznie prostszych i łatwiejszych do wykorzystania w dalszych analizach modeli matematycznych. Najczęściej spotykany model prezentowany w literaturze to model opisany funkcją dwuwykładniczą i model zobrazowany funkcją Heidlera.
The use of the simplified model of the lightning impulse and specification of its standardized parameters allows for standardization and the use of such a model in researches related to lightning protection. According to the adopted level of probability we can assume the maximum values of selected parameters of the lightning impulse. Generally these values are the subject to a statistical normal logarithm distribution. Standardized types and parameters for typical lightning impulses enabled the creation of much simpler and easier to use in further analysis of mathematical models. The most common models presented in literature are the model described with the double-exponential function and the model illustrated with Heidler function.

Opis:: A new high instantaneous power impulse converter (HIPIC) with a switched capacitor unit has been presented. HIPIC generates very short impulses (hundreds of microseconds) of instantaneous power in megawatt range while the average power is much lower (tens of kilowatts). The presented topology is composed of step-down converters, an H-bridge converter and a switched capacitor, adjusted with a new current control. It allows one to achieve the output current impulses with very short rising and falling times and strict peak current control with low ripples.

Opis:: Online impulse buying is a complex behavior that is determined by many factors, not only external but also internal. Some consumers are less prone to irrational behavior than others. The aim of this study was to explore the impulse buying tendencies of challenging e-consumers. Due to the specificity of the profession, characteristics of highly educated people, and the generational mentality, academics of Generation X were assumed to be representatives of these e-consumers, unwilling to impulse buying. The data collected with an online survey confirmed this assumption. Respondents had not only a negative opinion of studied behavior but also a low tendency to it. Furthermore, this study was to indicate a group of stimuli that would induce unplanned purchases among challenging e-consumers. The results suggest that academics are more prone to impulse buying if it can be rationalized with, e.g., product utility or monetary savings, than in the case of purely emotional or hedonic reasons.

The main theme of this festival curated by Florian Malzacher was making decisions, particularly those that affect the collective, in the context of the present political situation. Burzyńska writes on Boris Nikitin’s "Hamlet", zeroing in on the problematic figure of the main protagonist and the play on truth and lies, fiction and illusion. She sees the transmission installation "Guilty Landscapes: Episode 1" by Holland’s Dries Verhoeven as the most compelling.

Opis:: In this paper, we establish some interval oscillation criteria for impulsive conformable fractional partial delay differential equations with a forced term. The main results will be obtained by employing Riccati technique. Our results extend and improve some results reported in the literature for the classical differential equations without impulses. Opis:: Influence of the impulse noise in recurrent Track-Before-Detect Algorithms is considered in this paper. Impulse noise from the object should improve tracking performance but it is not true. This is the SNR paradox that could be explained using Markov matrix theorem. Suppression of the signal value using threshold techniques improves output SNR. Description of this effect is detailed shown in the paper using illustrative examples. Obtained results could be applied for numerous applications of TBD systems.

Opis:: The purpose of this paper is to present the response of a human body-seat model to the external disturbance in form of an impulse excitation. A 2-DOF Active Human Body Model with two distinct positions (“back-on” an “back-off”) is used in the simulations. Additionally, two different seat types are considered: rigid and passive. Several types of impulse excitations are used ranging in shape, amplitude and disturbance time. A comparison of the results is made: the first on the assumption of equal excitation energy, and the second one for impulses of equal amplitudes but different duration.
