The aim of this paper is to discuss the hikikomori phenomenon along with the concept of amae. Hikikomori, a form of severe social withdrawal lasting for more than 6 months, has increasingly become a crucial issue especially among adolescents, but they are not the only ones that suffer from it. This problem might have its origin in amae. Amae, according to psychiatrist Takeo Doi, originates in the relationship of mother and child, making it possible for the mother to understand her child’s mind and respond to its needs, so that mother and child can enjoy a sense of commingling. Particular attention was paid to the phenomenon of hikikomori as a social phenomenon that might be accompanied by mental disorders. The ways how to help overcome hikikomori such as the activities of non-governmental organizations were also presented. The whole discussion is theoretical in nature, based on scientific articles of researchers dealing with the problem, publications of psychiatry and other academic sources.
Celem pracy jest omówienie zjawiska hikikomori wraz z konceptem amae. Hikikomori, będące formą poważnego wycofania społecznego trwającego ponad 6 miesięcy, staje się coraz bardziej istotnym problemem, zwłaszcza wśród młodych ludzi, ale nie tylko. Problem ten może mieć podłoże w amae. Amae, według psychiatry Takeo Doi, ma swoje źródło w relacji między matką a dzieckiem. Umożliwia matce zrozumienie umysłu jej dziecka i reagowanie na jego potrzeby, dzięki czemu matka i dziecko mogą cieszyć się poczuciem wspólnoty i tożsamości. W pracy w szczególności uwaga została poświęcona zjawisku hikikomori w ujęciu fenomenu społecznego któremu mogą towarzyszyć zaburzenia na tle psychicznym. Przytoczone zostały również sposoby mające pomóc w przezwyciężeniu hikikomori takie jak działania organizacji pozarządowych. Całość rozważań ma charakter teoretyczny w oparciu o artykuły naukowe badaczy zajmujących się problemem, publikacje środowisk psychiatrycznych oraz inne źródła naukowe. - Dostawca treści:
