Opis:: Recent research on the nanotechnological processes of molecular products and object synthesis as well as research on the nanosystems of informatics, stimulates the development of technical systems of informatics. Until now, they have been used mainly for computational tasks when, similarly to biological organisms, they allowed the development of self-replicating products and complete objects. One can focus here on the model of a circulation of materials, information and energy in a biological cell, and a model of the self-replication phenomenon. In the model of materials, information and energy circulation, we can distinguish a multi-phase process of creating products which are later used for object construction. The first phase is a translation process based on information from mRNA, while the next one consists of post-translational modifications based on environmental interactions. The self-replication model presented in this paper refers to a self-replication of a material object together with its internal software, which had determined the object creation. The presented models of materials, information and energy circulation in a biological cell together with models of the self-replication phenomenon can be a basis for the design and development of technical systems of informatics capable of creating self-replicating products and objects.

This article talk about the problems of teaching informatics subjects in schools. It is an attempt to answer the question: which curriculum issues are interesting to pupils, and that they feel are unnecessary in the curriculum of informatics. Opinions of pupils was compared with the opinions of students and their competences.

Opis:: Focusing on the local solutions used by the institutions organizing the INFOBAZY (Infobases) conference, we briefly examine the development of IT infrastructure for science in Poland, including resources, networks and a high performance supercomputer centre. This development is presented from the perspective of the last twenty years - although the first INFOBAZY conference was organized in 1997, the IT infrastructure has been developed since 1991, when the first modern network server was installed in Warsaw. This presentation demonstrates both the enormous progress in the field and the state of the art today.

Opis:: Evaluation of the quality of 52 health-related websites, created with wiki technologyThe emergence of Web 2.0 philosophy of using Internet as a platform generated by all Internet users could have many implications for the future of healthcare. While application of the Web 2.0 tools, such as wikis, blogs, podcast and social networks to medicine and healthcare has definitely many benefits (e.g. to develop communication in healthcare and education), there is a growing concern about the quality of the sources of information built using these tools. According to general philosophy of the web 2.0 every Internet user could be the author of Internet’s content. Such a practice could be especially dangerous in case of sources of health related information, where the reliability and accuracy are especially crucial, because there is to much risk to harm the patient if inaccurate and misleading information was posted. The aim of the following study was to assess the quality of the sources of information, built with wiki technology (which is one of the web 2.0 applications).

Opis:: Opracowanie jest próbą oceny kształcenia informatycznego w szkołach średnich. Po upływie trzydziestu lat od momentu wprowadzenia jej do szkół należałoby się spodziewać bardzo dobrego przygotowania abiturientów szkół średnich w tym zakresie. Badania pilotażowe gotowości studen-tów do podjęcia studiów przeprowadzone wśród studentów pierwszego roku rzucają nowe światło na poziom kształcenia informatycznego na IV etapie kształcenia.
The study is an attempt to rate education of informatics education in schools. After thirty years after its introduction into schools should expect a very good preparation of graduates of high schools in this area. Readiness pilot researches of students to study were conducted among first-year students. It's shed new light on the level of education and information for the fourth stage of education.

Opis:: Celem tego studium jest odpowiedź na pytanie, czy informatyka stanowi dziedzinę czy tylko dyscyplinę wiedzy. Przeprowadzono analizę problemów informatycznych, z której wynika, że informatykę w Polsce należy traktować jako dziedzinę. Podkreślono, że angielski termin computer science stanowi tylko jedną ze specjalizacji informatyki, słowo „informatyka” zaś powinno być kojarzone znacznie szerzej niż nawet information technology (IT w USA i ICT w Europie prócz Francji, gdzie stosuje się termin l’informatique). Jak pokazano, wąskie traktowanie informatyki utrudnia pełny jej rozwój. W praktyce oznacza to ograniczenie w podejmowaniu ambitnych zadań oraz większe koszty jej rozwoju. Społeczne implikacje potwierdzają, że mimo wielu zdolnych informatyków Polska nie doczekała się (poza grami komputerowymi) własnych trwałych innowacyjnych rozwiązań informatycznych. Stąd wynika więc potrzeba opracowania krajowej strategii informatyzacji, gdyż sama strategia cyfryzacji nie wystarcza do zapewnienia sukcesów.
The purpose of this study is to answer the question of whether informatics is a field or just a discipline of knowledge. Analyzes of info-computer-based problems, consider that informatics in Poland should be treated as a field. It was emphasized that the English term computer science is only one of the informatics-oriented specializations. The word “informatics” can be associated much more often with terms; IT in the US and ICT in Europe except France, where l’informatique terminology is used). Which name to use since the narrow understanding of information processing and handling is losing its full potential for the right development. In practice, it means a reduction in undertaking ambitious tasks and the higher costs of its development. Social implications confirmed that, despite a lot of capable informaticians, Poland had not been seen (except for computer devices), the right development of informatics-oriented applications. Hence the essential general informaticsoriented strategy is offered because the digital equipment-oriented strategy alone is not enough to apply in success looking ICT applications.

Opis:: The main goal of this paper was to indicate the possible use of a specific model of e-learning for computer science teachers in Serbia. Taking this aim into account, the authors accurately indicated the subject of the proposed research: development of a model system for the implementation of e-learning for the level of higher education in Serbia for teachers, with a special emphasis on informatics education. This e-learning model indicates equal participation of major areas of information technology and pedagogy and teaching methodology, pedagogy, ICT and media. The proposed research subject is of high importance in the development of the education system in Serbia and as such is adapted to the needs of a knowledge society and to realize the scientific contribution to the subject area. This work represents a good starting point for further work and continuing research presented, referring to the concrete results of research by the author.

Opis:: This article is an overview of the philosophy of informatics with a special regard to some Polish philosophers. It juxtaposes the informationistic worldview with the long-prevailing mechanical conceptualization of nature before introducing the metaphysical perspective of the information revolution in sciences. The article shows also how ontic pancomputationalism – regarded as an update to structural realism – could enrich the philosophical research in some classical topics. The paper concludes with a discussion of the philosophy of Jan Salamucha, a philosopher from the Cracow Circle (1903–1944) whose ideas could be inspiring for today’s philosophy of informatics in Cracow.

Opis:: The paper refers to telematics theoretical basis, especially transport telematics. European and international institutions responsible for standardization in the aforementioned areas have been characterized. Furthermore, author has presented standardization publications on telematics and transport telematics. The European Commission and many state administrations in the world attach a great importance to the use of telematics systems in transport. This requires designing and manufacturing devices using the advanced telecommunication and IT technologies. Some states have already implemented the telematics systems in transport, which control now such functions as: vehicles fleet management, urban traffic management and road toll collection. Implementation of the autonomic systems in the European states and lack of possibilities to cooperate with other systems caused the European Commission to conduct, since 2000, a wide spread activities on interoperability of the telematics systems and introduction of legal regulations (decrees, directives). Interoperability and building telematics systems architecture brings about the necessity to develop standards concerning, among the others, technical, safety solutions as well as data transmission protocols between the system elements and it environment solutions. At present in Poland, telematics applications are not used to a sufficient degree, to effectively manage the vehicles' fleet, or at least for urban traffic management, and when they are used, and then they are developed without taking into consideration appropriate interoperability. These applications in the future may provide quick and precise information and allow to safely managing the urban traffic. In the forthcoming years, they will be further improved by using Galileo system, whose localizing precision will be better than that of GPS. To meet these challenges, the international and European institutions have been characterized in this paper, which conduct standardizing activities in telematics and transport telematics. In addition, the fundamental, already developed standards for the aforementioned areas have been presented.
