Opis:
Today people are faced with a huge amount of information. Demand-oriented management of information can resolve this issue. Therefore, the measures that filter this information are the desired solution.  One of these measures is information demand analysis, which can be easily used for defining problems on the labour market, where the term of talent import is becoming increasingly important. The main contribution of this study is the analysis of the challenges facing the foreign labour market from the point of view of an employee and an employer and a proposal of an information demand model for strengthening the foreign labour market information system. The information demand model is one of the stages of the development of an information-logistics engine, which ensures that the right information is available in the right location, time and quality.

Opis:
This work investigates the use of enterprise models for service configuration with a focus on knowledge related to organizational roles. Starting from an industrial case, it presents an approach to extract a role’s information demand from an enterprise model and to use this as initial configuration for agent-based services. In addition to the meta-model included in the enterprise modeling language, the use of a common ontology is proposed which captures both, the perspective of information demand and services. The architecture of the agentbased services is following the idea to characterize all actors by their roles and to represent them by sets of services. This approach facilitates self-organization in the service level. The main contributions of the paper are (1) to show that a role’s information demand is relevant for service configuration, (2) to present a way of extracting information demand from enterprise models, and (3) to extend an approach for SOA-based enterprise representation with information demand.

Opis:
The limited availability of data on faecal sludge characteristics remains one of the major challenges faced by developing countries in proper management of faecal sludge. In view of the limited financial resources and expertise in these developing countries, there is a need to come up with less-resource-intensive approaches for faecal sludge characterisation. Despite being used substantially in wastewater, there is limited evidence on the use of predictive modelling as a tool for cost-effective characterisation of faecal sludge. In this study, first order multiple linear regression modelling is investigated as a less-resource-intensive approach for accurate prediction of organics (biochemical oxygen demand and chemical oxygen demand) in pit latrine sludge. The predictor variables explored in the modelling include pH, electrical conductivity, total solids, total volatile solids, fixed solids and moisture content. The modelling uses data collected from 80 latrines in unplanned settlements of four cities in Malawi. The study shows that it is possible to reliably predict chemical oxygen demand and biochemical oxygen demand in pit latrine sludge using electrical conductivity and total solids, which require low levels of resources and expertise to determine.

Opis:
The process of tourism demand formation is studied, in which the infrastructure level is estimated on the basis of subjective expertise. There is a strong correlation between the number of collective accommodation facilities and tourism activity subjects, the infrastructure level based on the subjective expertise and the number of recreations. Regression dependencies between the tourism demand and closely correlated factors are determined.
