Opis:
The article deals with thermal diffusivity measurements by using of thermovision techniques. Methods for determination of thermal parameters of insulating bodies are time consuming and so that, their utility in industry is inconsiderable. For example such measurements can’t be used for online inspection of product quality. In the article, new method for determination of thermal diffusivity was presented. Basic concept and model of measuring device were discussed. The method is characterized by short measuring time, high accuracy and low dependence on external conditions. Exemplary measuring results were presented and all advantages of proposed method were proved.

Opis:
This paper presents two methods to recognize authenticity of the postal envelopes sealing. These methods are: infrared thermography and thickness measurement. Additionally, microscope inspection is presented. Based on the results, quantitative assessment was developed. The proposed methods make it possible to recognize authenticity of the postal envelopes sealing.

Opis:
This work presents the method of improving the accuracy of temperature measurement results obtained by means of long-wave infrared camera equipped with focal plane array (FPA) detector. The typical accuracy of infrared cameras specified by their manufacturers amounts to ±2 K or ±2% of the measured value of temperature. Very often a better accuracy of the measurements is required, e.g. during the measurements of human body temperature. To improve the measurement accuracy an external local (in terms of temperature range) correction of obtained results on the basis of comparison measurement results of black body temperature and next with use of MATLAB package has been proposed.

Opis:
The article is focused on the infrared measurement method in the air in small closed areas. This method is based on the visualization of temperature fields on an auxiliary material which is inserted into the non-isothermal air flow in a research area. In small closed spaces where is impossible to put the measuring equipment due to various reasons, it is necessary to visualize the temperature fields through a window. This window must be permeable for infrared radiation of known properties, especially the transmissivity. As an auxiliary material for the visualization of temperature fields in these experiments, the ordinary office paper with high emissivity value was chosen and the viewing window was made of a polyethylene. The presented method for the measurement of temperature fields in the air can be applied mainly in closed spaces where is difficult to situate the infrared camera (due to field of view), in spaces where the infrared camera restricts the flowing air or where is aggressive or too hot environment (a potential damage of infrared camera), etc. In this article the parameter analysis, which is important for a particular application, is performed and an example of temperature fields measurement in closed space is presented. This method can be used in cooling and heating design of means of transport, mostly for cabins of cars and trucks.

In the paper experimental research of flat surfaces lapping with single-disk lapping machine presented. The paper is an introduction to single-disk lapping machine executory system components temperature rise research. Experiments were being conducted during with use of ABRALAP 380 lapping machine and infrared camera.

During the temperature measurements by means of infrared camera the temperature of surrounding elements must be known. In the case of thermovision inspections of the objects exposed to open air space, the surroundings consists of two elements, it is the ground and hypothetical sky surface. The sky temperature measured by long-wave IR camera is of apparent character because it expresses the thermal radiation of the sky within the spectral operational range of this camera i.e. 7.5÷13 μm. The abovementioned spectral range is coincident with so called atmospheric window within which the thermal radiation of the sky is relatively low. The emissivity of atmosphere within this window is low in the central part and high near the limits of the aforementioned range. In relation with the detector characteristic of the IR camera it causes underestimation of the measured sky temperature. This work deals with the analysis of influence of the IR camera detector characteristic on the results of determination of sky temperature and its thermal radiation intensity.

Opis:
The paper presents the results of measurements of chip temperature in the cutting zone during milling. The main aim of the research was to record and compare the maximum chip temperature in consecutive frames of thermal images. An additional goal may be the influence of changes in technological parameters on the temperature of the chips in the cutting zone. Two grades of magnesium alloys were used for the tests: AZ31 and AZ91HP. The research used a carbide milling cutter with an additional chip breaker, dedicated to effective roughing of light alloys. These tool geometries can assist in the high-performance machining of magnesium alloys by efficiently splitting the chip and consequently reducing friction in the machining zone. This can reduce the cutting area temperature. The results of the research work were showed as exemplary "time" charts, box-plot charts and a summary table, which additionally included an error analysis of the measurement method. On the basis of the tests and measurements performed, it can be concluded that despite the observed chip fragmentation, the obtained temperatures can be defined as the so-called safe milling areas. During the machining tests, the risk of chip ignition during machining was not observed, also the characteristic melting points, which clearly indicates the safety of the milling process of these alloys. It has been observed that with the increase of vc and fz, there was no increase in the maximum temperature of the chip in the cutting area. This situation only occurs when increasing ap.

Opis:
Experimental results of effects of thermomechanical couplings occurring in shape memory polymer subjected to tension are presented. Stress-strain curves were recorded by testing machine, while their related temperature changes were measured with infrared camera. The mechanical and thermal characteristics were used to investigate the polymer properties. Three various stages were distinguished during the deformation process. The first, elastic, is accompanied by a drop in the specimen temperature; the second, plastic, is associated with change of the material structure and the temperature increase; the third stage, related to the specimen rupture and damage mechanisms, is accompanied by the significant increase in temperature.

This paper presents an overview of the state of knowledge on temperature measurement in the cutting area during magnesium alloy milling. Additionally, results of own research on chip temperature measurement during dry milling of magnesium alloys are included. Tested magnesium alloys are frequently used for manufacturing elements applied in the aerospace industry. The impact of technological parameters on the maximum chip temperature during milling is also analysed. This study is relevant due to the risk of chip ignition during the machining process.
