Opis:: The by-product of the current global economic processes is increasing competitive pressure. In conditions of world economy globalization, the Czech Republic was particularly successful in the 1990s, mainly due to the strategy of “low cost economy”. Low costs were the primary source of competitive advantage. Increasing pressure of large countries with cheap labour force does not allow the Czech Republic make its labour costs lower and use this as a source of economic growth and international competitiveness. Therefore the Czech Republic was forced to direct its further economic development towards the knowledge-based economy. Due to this new priority, in the economic policy the innovative abilities of the companies, increasing quality of human resources, as well as research and development of the new technologies became the most important tasks. For the most of companies these trends were tantamount with the necessity of basic changes in production process organization, management, human resources development, etc. Both inner and outer entrepreneurial environments were thus considerably changed and innovative companies become the carriers of comparative advantages in the regional development. The objective of the article is to assess the current position of the Czech Republic in international perspective as far as the innovative efficiency is concerned. The authors also will try to point the strong and weak sides of the innovation system in the Czech Republic. The second part of the paper analyses the innovative potential of particular Czech regions.

Opis:: The article focuses on the analysis of the innovation environment of the regions in Czechia, focusing on the Ústí Region. Due to the geographical location of the Ústi Region and its economic development and structure, regions which went through similar economic and social development have been selected for research in this article, in particular the Karlovy Vary Region, the Liberec Region, and the Moravia-Silesia Region. The analysis has used the indicators from the field of human resources, employment in R&D, information technologies, as well as education. It is obvious under the comparison of the selected parameters that the Ústí Region lags in the development of the innovation potential behind the Liberec Region and Moravia-Silesia Region, but reports better results and development changes compared to the Karlovy Vary Region.

Opis:: The article presents the research results of the state and conditions of innovation in Ukraine based on the level and dynamics of the components of the Global Innovation Index. The methodology for determining the Global Innovation Index and the dynamics of Ukraine's position in the ranking is considered. The strengths and weaknesses of innovation activity and the innovation environment in Ukraine are assessed. The correlation between conditions and results of innovation activity in the country is analyzed. The nature of the influence of the current political and economic situation in Ukraine on the state of the innovation environment and innovation results is defined. The prospects for further innovative development of the country are determined.

Opis:: Celem niniejszej pracy jest zapoznanie się i przeanalizowanie polskiego otoczenia gospodarczego pod względem wdrażanych działań na rzecz środowiska i ich wyników. Główne pytanie, któremu przyświeca przedstawiona praca, odnosi się do tego: jaki jest poziom ekoinnowacyjności polskiej gospodarki? Rozważania zostały przeprowadzone na podstawie teorii, danych pochodzących ze źródeł wtórnych (wybranych wskaźników) oraz badań własnych. W drodze odpowiedzi na pytanie badawcze przeanalizowany został Indeks Ekoinnowacyjności- wskazujący na sytuację Polski na tle innych krajów UE. Dokonano interpretacji odpowiedzi uzyskanych z dwóch przeprowadzonych wywiadów.
The aim of this paper is to get to know and analyse the Polish economic environment in terms of implemented environmental measures and their results. The main question guiding the paper is: what is the level of eco-innovation of the Polish economy? The considerations were carried out on the basis of theory, data from secondary sources (selected indicators) and own research. In order to answer the research question, the Eco-innovativeness Index - indicating the situation of Poland in comparison with other EU countries - was analysed. The answers obtained from two interviews were interpreted.

Opis:: This paper discusses selected aspects of Innovative activity of companies in the raw material industry. The analysis included two countries from the group of Moderate Innovators (according to the Global Innovation Index, GII), namely Poland and Slovakia. A general comparison of the innovativeness level of Poland and Slovakia with the EU countries was conducted using indicators such as the Innovation-friendly Environment (IFE) or the Summary Innovation Index (SII). !e presented structure of expenditures on industrial innovation among the analysed countries revealed the absence of concentration in organizational and marketing innovations, which nowadays possesses significant importance. !e conclusion resulting from the study is that Poland and Slovakia should undoubtedly increase their innovative potential, i.a. in the use of their mineral raw materials as non-renewable resources, by identifying the sources of innovation, as well as the opportunities and threats associated with their implementation in raw material enterprises.
W artykule przedstawiono wybrane aspekty działalności innowacyjnej firm w branży surowcowej. Analiza objęła dwa kraje z grupy Moderate Innovators (według Global Innovation Index, GII), czyli Polskę i Słowację. Ogólne porównanie poziomu innowacyjności Polski i Słowacji z krajami UE przeprowadzono za pomocą wskaźników, takich jak Innovation-friendly Environment (IFE) czy Summary Innovation Index (SII). Przedstawiona struktura wydatków na innowacje przedsiębiorstw przemysłowych wśród analizowanych krajów ujawniła brak koncentracji na innowacjach organizacyjnych i marketingowych, które obecnie mają istotne znaczenie. Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika, że Polska i Słowacja powinny niewątpliwie zwiększyć swój potencjał innowacyjny m.in. w wykorzystaniu swoich surowców mineralnych jako zasobów nieodnawialnych, poprzez identyfikację źródeł innowacji oraz szans i zagrożeń związanych z ich wdrażaniem w przedsiębiorstwach surowcowych.

Uczestniczyło ono w projekcie unijnym “Program Operacyjny Inteligentny Rozwój”, którego osią priorytetową było wsparcie innowacji w przedsiębiorstwach oraz wsparcie wdrożeń wyników Prac Badawczo Rozwojowych. Firma wdrożyła zmianę w postaci ulepszenia pod względem materiałowym proponowanego produktu, stworzonego we współpracy z Politechniką Krakowską. Na bazie materiałów z recyklingu otrzymano ekologiczny, wydajniejszy produkt. Głównym celem pracy jest zbadanie roli organizacji sektora publicznego, jaką odegrały na poszczególnych etapach wprowadzania innowacji w danym przedsiębiorstwie. Swoje badania opieram na przeprowadzonym przeze mnie wywiadzie z Dyrektorem ds. operacyjnych firmy Patrol Group oraz dokumentach, udostępnionych mi przez firmę w celach naukowych.Część teoretyczna pracy służy przybliżeniu idei innowacji oraz polityki innowacyjnej państwa. Część empiryczna pracy przedstawia wyniki badań wynikające z przeprowadzonego wywiadu oraz analizy udostępnionych przez firmę materiałów badawczych. Część dotycząca przedstawieniu wniosków, jest zarówno podsumowaniem przeprowadzonych badań, jaki i sformułowaniem rekomendacji dla organizacji publicznych w zakresie wspierania procesu innowacyjnego w przedsiębiorstwie. Zostały one stworzone na podstawie wniosków z przeprowadzonych badań. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań rolę organizacji publicznych w procesie innowacyjnym przedsiębiorstwa określiłam jako znikomą, zaś o dużym potencjale gospodarczym oraz środowiskowym.
The subject of this thesis is the role of the public organisations in the innovation process based on an example of Patrol Group company in Cracow. The company has participated in the European Union project “Smart Growth Operational Programme. The priority axis of the EU programme focuses on supporting innovation in enterprises and supporting R&D projects of enterprises. The company has cooperated with Cracow University of Technology and has created a new, more efficient product that is based on recycled plastic. The main goal of this thesis was to find out what was the specific role of the public organisations on each stage of innovation process in Patrol Group company. I base my research on the interview with the Managing Director Operations from Patrol Group company and documents that the company has made available to me. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the idea of innovation and innovation policy in Poland. The practical part of the thesis featured the analysis of the interview and documents. Thanks to the research I was able to write the final summary and propose some recommendations for public organisations involved in supporting innovation in enterprises. Based on research that I have made, the role of public organisation in the innovation process is passive, but has a huge economic and environmental potential.

A key aspect in the implementation of eco-innovations and their further proper prospering is the awareness of society as an active pro-education in the field of ecology, eco-innovation and energy clusters.The bachelor's thesis below consists of three chapters dealing with the issues of eco-innovation in Poland and in Europe. In addition, the last, fourth chap-ter is a case study-based research paper. The tool supporting the research work is a questionnaire, which was conducted among 105 respondents.The aim of the research work described in the last chapter of the work is to show the connection related to the level of pro-ecological awareness of the society with running an energy cluster. The research question of the thesis is "How important is the awareness of the society in the development of eco-innovative solutions?". The hypothesis of the work consisted in indicating the connection between the appropriate prospering of eco-innovative solutions with the level of knowledge about the ecological awareness of the society, which emphasizes the important role of society in the functioning of eco-innovation.Literature in the field of eco-innovation, ecology, environmental protection and renewable energy sources was used to write the work.

Opis:: The main objective of the study is to identify and assess some chosen aspects of eco-innovativeness of the companies listed within such indices as WIG Energy, WIG Oil & Gas, WIG Basic Materials of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The scope of this analysis encompasses selected results which facilitate achieving environmental benefits. The investigation, however, does not discuss either expenditure on eco-innovative activities or the instruments measuring the influence of eco-innovation. The analysis of the investigated dilemma was based mainly on two research methods, namely survey analysis, as well as digital and documentary source analysis. The results indicate a relatively high eco-innovativeness of the companies in terms of organizational and marketing activities and low in product and services aspects.

Opis:: According to the open innovation model an effective strategy for increasing innovation and competitiveness of the region should be based on active and multilevel cooperation among operators of the local tourism business environment. It is commonly assumed that an exceptionally important role in creating a favorable environment for the cooperative practices in the region is performed by local authorities. Yet, a modest number of research findings presented in the literature indicate a rather high level of inertia of local authorities in creating appropriate conditions for tourism business development, thus putting in question the effectiveness of performed intermediary function in the process of knowledge transfer among tourist enterprises. Given the paucity of empirical evidence on effectiveness of innovation policy interventions at the regional level, this article presents the empirical findings regarding cooperation in innovation between tourist enterprises and local institutional agents.
