Opis:: Elektrownie wiatrowe generują 7,14% energii elektrycznej w Polsce, ustępując miejsca tylko elektrowniom opalanym węglem kamiennym i brunatnym. Znaczący udział energetyki wiatrowej w strukturze krajowego systemu elektroenergetycznego skłania do badania wpływu tak produkowanej energii na pracę jednostek wytwórczych centralnie dysponowanych. Niniejszy artykuł obejmuje analizę krajowego systemu elektroenergetycznego. Pierwszym parametrem, jaki został poddany analizie, jest krajowe zapotrzebowanie na moc, zawierające zapotrzebowanie odbiorców krajowych, potrzeby własne elektrowni, straty w sieci przesyłowej i pompowanie w elektrowniach szczytowo-pompowych oraz uwzględniające saldo wymiany międzynarodowej równoległej i nierównoległej. Ponadto analizie poddano sumaryczną generację energii elektrycznej z jednostek wytwórczych centralnie dysponowanych (JWCD), generację energii elektrycznej w ramach umowy o świadczenie usługi pracy interwencyjnej, generację energii elektrycznej w ramach umowy o świadczenie usługi interwencyjnej rezerwy zimnej (IRZ), a także sumaryczną generację energii elektrycznej ze źródeł wiatrowych. W niniejszym artykule zbadano związki korelacyjne pomiędzy wielkością generacji jednostek wytwórczych świadczących usługi pracy interwencyjnej oraz interwencyjnej rezerwy zimna a wielkością generacji energii elektrycznej z elektrowni wiatrowych. Dokonano również porównania tych wielkości z krajowym zapotrzebowaniem na moc.
Increasing the share of energy production from renewable sources plays a key role in the sustainable and more competitive development of the energy sector. The electricity from wind power is about 7.14% in Poland. There are only hard coal-fired plants and brown coal-fired plants before wind power in the Polish National Power System. The share of wind power is significant and a lot of scientists try to research its impact on the work on electricity production in centrally dispatched generating units. It should be noted that RES are an increasingly important element of the power systems and that their share in the energy production will continue to increase. The author analyzed the work of the Polish National Power System, especially: the load of the Polish Power System (domestic energy consumption, own needs of power plants, losses, pumping hydro plants, import and export), electricity generation in centrally dispatched generating units, electricity generation under intervention work and cold intervention reserve agreements and electricity generation in wind power in the year 2016. The objective of this article is researching the dependence between electricity generation in centrally dispatched generating units under intervention work and cold intervention reserve agreements and electricity generation from wind power. Moreover the author researched the connections between the load of the Polish Power System and electricity production form wind power.

Opis:: The study evaluated the effectiveness of the intervention for families raising children with autism aimed to improve the family’s quality of life, strengthen its capacity, and expand rights and opportunities. The experimental intervention was implemented at the Educational and Rehabilitation Center for Children with Autism “Trust” (Lviv, Ukraine). It had one experimental group (30 people) and two control groups (60 people). The effectiveness and duration of the intervention effects were assessed using a before/after study design with the same questionnaire. Findings from the survey evidence the effectiveness of the intervention, in particular, for expanding the family’s capabilities, its capacity, improving relationships in family subsystems, increasing parental competence, and improving well-being. Limitations of the intervention are discussed.

Opis:: Nowotwory złośliwe stanowią poważny problem zdrowotny, społeczny i ekonomiczny. Ze względu na postęp medycyny wzrasta liczba osób wyleczonych z choroby, które muszą się zmierzyć z podjęciem pracy zawodowej lub powrotem do niej. Celem artykułu jest wskazanie miejsca i roli tej pracy w życiu osób z rakiem, problemów, z jakimi się one zmagają po powrocie do pracy oraz zasygnalizowanie możliwych dróg ich rozwiązania. Tekst został wzbogacony o fragmenty wywiadów asynchronicznych online z kobietami z chorobą nowotworową (n=10) będącymi w wieku aktywności zawodowej oraz komentarze interpretacyjne. Badania uwidaczniają, że praca zawodowa niesie ze sobą wiele korzyści dla chorujących, ale jednocześnie jest przyczyną doświadczania licznych trudności. Pacjentom i pracodawcom brakuje wiedzy na temat możliwości wsparcia osób chorych przewlekłe w procesie pracy, działania interwencyjnie są rzadko podejmowane, a pomoc ze strony państwa jest niewystarczająca. W związku z tym istnieje pilna potrzeba wdrożenia działań mających na celu wspierać pacjentów i ich pracodawców w procesie pracy.
Cancer is a serious health, social and economic problem. Due to the advancement of medicine, the number of people who are cured and have to face taking up or returning to work increases. The article indicates the place and role of professional work in the lives of people with cancer, the problems they face after returning to work, and signals possible ways of solving them. The text is enriched with fragments of online asynchronous interviews with women with cancer (n=10), and some interpretations. Research shows that professional work brings many benefits for the sick, but at the same time causes them to experience many difficulties. Both patients and employers lack knowledge about the possibilities of support, intervention measures are rarely taken, and the assistance offered by the state is insufficient. Therefore, there is an urgent need to implement measures to support patients and their employers in the work process.

Opis:: Homeless people are one of the most endangered groups of social work. They are multiply marginalized, discriminated in living conditions, financial aid, in the labor market and in supportive relationships. They require crisis intervention due to superimposed problems as a result of which they are in danger of health and life (Olah and coll., 2006). From our experience, we would like to state that there is no way to objectively assess why someone became homeless. Speculation that „it is their fault, they can blame themselves“ and so they must help themselves to get off the streets, we consider very unprofessional. None of the people on the street did not plan to live their lives like this. Those, who has chosen this way of life seemingly freely, responded this way to the uncontrolled living situations such as: divorce, illness (to which belong also addiction), unfavorable social situation and the material need etc. The causes are fairly well described and well known to the general public. Much less are described obstacles to their return to the intact society.

Opis:: Aim. The main aim of the authors of this study is to indicate the problem areas of individuals and the families during the pandemic and post-pandemic situation which occurred in connection with a deteriorating social and societal situation. Methods. Using a literary descriptive and deductive method, the authors identify, indicate and analyze not only epidemiological measures and the possibilities of applying social interventions in the individual and in the family, but also draw attention to state measures taken to manage new conditions of family life. Results. The analysis indicates a broad issue that affects individuals, families, and groups, as well as societal sectors. The authors point to the provision of interventions through social work, which takes into account the basic characteristics of the family. Social intervention therefore becomes an important tool in solving problematic situations of any small or large social group. Conclusions. The pandemic and post-pandemic situation brought about a number of problematic situations that had to be solved dynamically and, in many cases, through crisis intervention. Forms of assistance to individuals and families brought cohesion and unity, but also brought a number of other concerns reflecting the current adverse societal situation into the wider environment.

Opis:: Niniejszy artykuł ma charakter empiryczny i podejmuje ważną kwestię dotyczącą interwencji kryzysowej w kontekście pracy zawodowej lekarza na różnych oddziałach szpitalnych. Celem zrealizowanego projektu diagnostycznego było poznanie opinii studentów kierunku lekarskiego w Polsce na powyższy temat. Prezentowany artykuł jest raportem na temat wyników badań w grupie 31 studentek i 19 studentów. Przeprowadzona analiza empiryczna pozwoliła na zdiagnozowanie kwestii związanych z występowaniem kryzysów u pacjentów oraz lekarza, a dokładnie z: znajomością terminologii – interwencja kryzysowa, użyteczności technik interwencyjnych w pracy lekarza, osobistymi trudnościami studentów w kontakcie z pacjentem w różnych kryzysach osobistych (przemoc domowa, gwałt, diagnoza choroby nowotworowej lub zakażenia HIV, utrata dziecka, samobójstwo bliskiej dla pacjenta osoby, uzależnienia), obaw związanych z wpadnięciem w określony kryzys przez przyszłych lekarzy (wypalenie zawodowe, pracoholizm, depresja, kryzys rodzinny, stres zawodowy i potencjalne używki), przydatności zajęć fakultatywnych dotyczących interwencji kryzysowej na polskich uczelniach oraz działań pomocnych dla studentów w rozwiązywaniu ich kryzysów.
This article is empirical and addresses an important issue regarding crisis intervention in the context of the professional work of a doctor in various hospital wards. The aim of the diagnostic project was to find out the opinions of medical students in Poland on the above subject. The presented article is a report on the results of research in a group of 31 female and 19 male students. The conducted empirical analysis made it possible to diagnose issues related to the occurrence of crises in patients and the doctor, and more specifically: knowledge of terminology – crisis intervention, usefulness of intervention techniques in the doctor’s work, personal difficulties of students in contact with the patient in various personal crises (domestic violence, rape, diagnosis of cancer or HIV infection, loss of a child, suicide of a person close to the patient, addictions), fears related to falling into a specific crisis by future doctors (professional burnout, workaholism, depression, family crisis, professional stress and potential drugs), the usefulness of optional classes on crisis intervention at Polish universities and activities to assist students in solving their crises.

Opis:: The objective of the study was to develop and evaluate a 2-day burnout intervention program focused at enhancing coping with stresses observed in teachers’ work. Karasek’s job stress model was used as the theoretical framework. The aim of the intervention was to teach participants to deal better with high job demands and low job control. Some cognitive-behavioural methods of overcoming workload and enhancing a sense of self-mastery and relations with students were introduced in the workshop. 59 teachers were randomly assigned to an experimental or to a control group. Results showed that emotional exhaustion, perceived workload and somatic complaints decreased significantly in the intervention group. The greatest effect of the intervention was observed with regard to increased behavioural job control. It was concluded that teaching participants how to manage their work environment better could help them in changing their perception of stressful job characteristics, reducing emotional exhaustion and somatic complaints.

Opis:: The aim was to evaluate if rehabilitation procedures including occupational health (OH) and workplace participation increase return to work (RTW) rates among patients with subacute and chronic low back pain (LBP). A systematic review of randomized controlled trials was conducted using the PubMed and Cochrane databases. Main outcomes were RTW and days of sick leave. Interventions needed to be multidisciplinary including both OH and active workplace involvement in rehabilitation. Out of 1073 potentially eligible references, 8 met the inclusion criteria. Three studies had OH and 5 case managers involved in rehabilitation. Rehabilitation involving both OH and workplace improved RTW and decreased the number of sick leave days among LBP patients. Having case managers involved had no effect in RTW. In order to improve RTW, workplace visits and work ability meetings (WAMs) between OH and workplace are essential components in the rehabilitation process among patients with chronic LBP. Based on the study results, the authors suggest utilizing these co-operative interventions with workplaces in OH. High quality research investigating only the effect of WAMs in OH setting is needed in future.

Opis:: Most women continue to work during pregnancy. However, some of them have to stop working before giving birth. Absence from work poses several challenges for employers and employees, as well as for society. The literature on absence from work during pregnancy and its determinants remains inconsistent and rather scarce. To conduct a narrative literature review on the factors associated with work interruption and on existing interventions aimed at reducing the absence prevalence during pregnancy. The review refers to published peer-reviewed articles dealing with all types of work interruption among pregnant women. Keyword searches were performed in the electronic databases PubMed, EMBASE, and Google Scholar, covering the period 2000–2022. The review, which includes 42 papers, presents a broad and comprehensive picture of factors and interventions associated with absence from work among pregnant workers. The factors appear at different levels and include factors related to the pregnant women, such as individual health and socio-demographic factors; employer and workplace-related factors, such as risk exposures and working conditions; factors related to the role of the healthcare provider; and factors related to the national context (social benefits/insurance). The determinants of absence from work during pregnancy are complex and multifactorial and involve multiple stakeholders. The discussion addresses gaps and needs in the literature on pregnancy at work and in the field of occupational health.
