Opis:: The legal and ethical issues that confront society due to Artificial Intelligence (AI) include privacy and surveillance, bias or discrimination, and potentially the philosophical challenge is the role of human judgment. Concerns about newer digital technologies becoming a new source of inaccuracy and data breaches have arisen as a result of its use. Mistakes in the procedure or protocol in the field of healthcare can have devastating consequences for the patient who is the victim of the error. Because patients come into contact with physicians at moments in their lives when they are most vulnerable, it is crucial to remember this. Currently, there are no well-defined regulations in place to address the legal and ethical issues that may arise due to the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare settings. This review attempts to address these pertinent issues highlighting the need for algorithmic transparency, privacy, and protection of all the beneficiaries involved and cybersecurity of associated vulnerabilities.

Opis:: The article points to religion as a significant element of a nation’s culture and social consciousness influencing the preservation of the cultural identity of the Ukrainian minority, the community of which found itself in the European civilization circle within the Republic of Poland. The religious affiliation of the Ukrainian minority in Poland mainly regarded two rites: Greek Catholic and Orthodox. Since the beginning of its history the Greek Catholic Church, within the boundaries of the Polish state, has played the role of moral and intellectual support and promoted the statehood aspirations with the preservation of Ukrainian’s separate religious identity. The Orthodox Church in the Republic of Poland, dominated by the Russian influences, did not play a significant role in the development of Ukrainian minority’s national consciousness, yet both Churches contributed to the process of transformations in the social and politi-cal life of Ukrainians in Poland.

Opis:: This paper investigates the issues of education and integration conditions for Vietnamese immigrants’ children in Poland. These points of interest were primarily treated as the additional research connected with our teaching practices. It was conducted as an empirical study with three non-standardised interviews with the families, informal observations, and group discussions. Regardless of the limitation of a perhaps not significantly substantial range of data, the study led to the outlining of some concerns connected with the process of education and integration of the children in these Vietnamese families. The main four findings which are related to the research question are: the cultural differences and expectations of the parents, the language barriers of the parents, the typical stereotypes of educating children at home, and the conflicts of self-identification in the future. The research implied that children from all the immigrant groups should be assessed as to their growth as well as to the quality of their adaptation into the society.

Opis:: Homelessness is not a single person’s personal issue nor does it affect people in a same way. Every nations are facing the same crisis of homelessness and poverty. The situation led by several circumstances. This research explores to identify the causes and challenges faced by the homeless people. The society recognizes them as minor ability folk and refuse them from care and support. The objective of this research is to find out the challenges and social issues of the people who don’t have a permanent shelter to live. In accordance with the findings, homeless people are widely having personal troubles and social abandon. The whole community should take part to support the people who have been isolated from the society. Proper progress can be made through government to care the needy community. According to one of the sayings that a single person cannot change someone’s destiny but, a group of people can.

Opis:: Water infiltration through coal stocks exposed to weather elements represents a key issue for many old mining sites and coal-fired power plants from the environmental point of view, considering the negative impact on human health of the deriving groundwater, soil and air pollution. Within this context, the paper investigates the hydraulic behaviour of a self-weight compacted unsaturated coal mass and its impact on the numerical prediction of infiltration induced by rainfall events. In particular, the work focuses on the experimental investigation carried out at different representative scales, from the grain scale to physical modelling. The material, when starting from uncompacted conditions, seems to be characterized by metastable structure, which tends to collapse under imbibition. In addition, direct numerical predictions of the seepage regime through a partially saturated coal mass have been performed. As the compaction of the coal stock induced by dozers has not been taken into account, the numerical simulations represent a conservative approach for the assessment of chemical pollution hazard associated to water infiltration into a real stockpile under operational conditions.

Ethical and legal problems of surrogate motherhood

Opis:: Child is one of the dreams of almost every marriage, but that dream can not always be fulfilled due to the possibility of infertility in a partner. Then the couples who want to have the child are forced to adopt or choose surrogate motherhood. Adoption or surrogate motherhood also choose women who have infertility problems or do not want to experience the whole process of giving birth. There are situations when their motivation is fear of pregnancy, birth discomforts, as well as addictions or lifestyle and work that can harm the fetus. Nowadays we can see situations connected with homosexual couples which use the services of foster mothers. As a result, many ethical and legal issues have arisen, primarily related to the activities of surrogates and related with people which want to use their "services". In Poland and in many other countries there are still no clear regulations regarding the possibility of using surrogate motherhood. Motherhood is a great challenge for every woman, but also one of nature's tasks, so it is important to pay attention to the bond that is created between the unborn child and the mother. Considering the complexity of the problem of surrogate motherhood, it is important to analyze the situation that a woman immediately after giving birth is obliged to give it to her parents who have concluded a surrogate agreement. Is it possible that a woman who gave birth can give her child or childs without any emotions and consequences in the future ? In view of these and many other issues related to the issue of surrogate motherhood, the aim of this thesis is to investigate legal and ethical issues surrounding surrogate motherhood.
Posiadanie potomstwa to jedno z marzeń prawie każdego małżeństwa, które nie zawsze może zostać spełnione ze względu na możliwość wystąpienia bezpłodności u któregoś z partnerów. Wówczas pary, którym zależy na macierzyństwie, zmuszone są skorzystać z adopcji bądź wybierają macierzyństwo zastępcze. Na adopcję lub skorzystanie z usług surogatki decydują się również kobiety, które z przyczyn innych niż niepłodność lub bezpłodność, nie chcą doświadczyć całego procesu pozwalającego wydać na świat potomstwo. Zdarzają się sytuacje, kiedy ich motywacją jest lęk przed ciążą, nieprzyjemnościami związanymi z porodem, a także nałogi lub styl życia i praca, które mogą zaszkodzić płodowi. W dobie przemian jakie dostrzegamy na świecie niczym nowym nie są sytuacje, w których pary homoseksualne korzystają z usług matek zastępczych. W związku z powyższym powstało wiele problemów natury etycznej oraz prawnej, które związane są przede wszystkim z działalnością surogatek oraz osobami, które chcą skorzystać z ich „usług”. W Polsce, jak i w wielu innych krajach wciąż nie ma jasnych regulacji dotyczących możliwości lub jej braku skorzystania z usług matek zastępczych. Wiele kontrowersji wzbudza również sam fakt jak odbierane byłyby w społeczeństwie osoby, które zawodowo zajmowałyby się rodzeniem dzieci, które genetycznie w niewielkim stopniu byłyby powiązane z matką biologiczną. Macierzyństwo to dla każdej kobiety ogromne wyzwanie, ale również jedno z zadań jakie stawia jej natura, dlatego należy również zwrócić uwagę na więź, która tworzy się pomiędzy nienarodzonym dzieckiem a matką. Biorąc pod uwagę złożoność problemu związanego z macierzyństwem zastępczym, na pewno należy przeanalizować sytuację, w której kobieta tuż po urodzeniu dziecka zobowiązana jest do oddania go rodzicom, którzy zawarli z surogatką umowę. Czy jest możliwa sytuacja, w której kobieta ta bez żadnych emocji oraz następstw w przyszłości z tym związanych oddaje nowonarodzone dziecko, a może nawet kilkoro dzieci, które wydała na świat podczas swojego życia? Wobec tych i wielu innych problemów powiązanych z szeroko pojętym zagadnieniem macierzyństwa zastępczego, celem tej pracy będzie scharakteryzowanie etycznych i prawnych problemów związanych z macierzyństwem zastępczym.

Opis:: Alcohol consumption and related abuse are causes of mortality and morbidity worldwide (WHO). Consumption of alcohol in the upcountry region usually increased in amount rather than in any other part of Sri Lanka. It is essential to know the mode of alcohol consumption among various types of consumers. That helps to conduct a well-planned program for the prevention and control of this catastrophic social pathology. The main scope of this study is to identify the mode of alcohol consumption and related health issues, at the same time to expose the associating factors that lead to alcohol consumption. Selected 50 adult males have been interviewed from the study area using a semi-structured questionnaire. The study participants were selected through the purposive sampling method. Gathered data have been analyzed using Excel and discussed. According to the research outcomes, we have found that most of the participants agreed that they are consuming locally made alcohol and beer. 70% of the consumers have different health issues, 58% have family problems and financial struggles due to alcohol consumption. About 40% alcohol dependent had clinical signs of chronic illness. 70% of the consumers drank alcohol outside and during their work time. Alcohol consumers stated their associating factors of consumption as the climate, society, family problems, poverty, and physical soreness. According to the questionnaire survey, 74% of the participants were identified for daily consumption of alcohol. The most considered matter is their starting age of alcohol consumption is so young, and this study emphasizes the need for public education regarding the effects and illness of alcohol consumption at a young age. Proper awareness and guidance could help the youngsters to overcome the addiction. Public places and workplaces are the main areas to conduct awareness and intervention programs.

Opis:: The article seeks to answer the question of whether, and if yes – to what extent, voters are guided by economic issues in their decisions about electoral participation (activity or passivity in the elections). The analysis of this question was carried out in the context of declared electoral behavior of the respondents in elections which took place in 2014, namely to the European Parliament and the Polish regional (voivodship) parliaments. Detailed analysis was aimed at verifying the sociodemographic variables that could significantly differentiate the subjective importance of the economic factor in decisions taken on electoral participation. These empirical considerations took into account variables such as sex, age, education, marital status, financial situation, professional status and place of residence.
