Opis:
Risks of occupational and non-occupational HIV/AIDS infection, adequacy, access and efficiency of preventive measures for workers (health and engineering-technical personnel) of preventive treatment establishments of the health system of Ukraine have been defined in the study. Recommendations have been developed for adapting of the system for organization of preventing HIV/AIDS infection at workplace in the health system of Ukraine to international standards, proposed by ILO, WHO and UNAIDS.
Badania dotyczyły określenia zawodowego i niezawodowego ryzyka zakażenia wirusem HIV/AIDS a także adekwatności i skuteczności metod zapobiegania tym zakażeniom wśród pracowników (personel opieki zdrowotnej oraz inżynieryjnotechniczny) ośrodków profilaktycznych w ramach ukraińskiego systemu opieki zdrowotnej. Opracowano zalecenia dla dostosowania systemu zapobiegania zakażeniom HIV/AIDS w miejscach pracy ukraińskiej służby zdrowia do standardów międzynarodowych w tym zakresie zaproponowanych przez ILO, WHO i UNAIDS.

Opis:
Purpose – The aim of this paper is to present the indicators of labour productivity and dilemmas related to their interpretation. The paper examines the level of this phenomenon in the enterprise sector within the Polish economy. Research method – The measurement of labour productivity in the enterprise sector will be made using the indicators calculated on the basis of available data from the national statistics of the Central Statistical Office in the years 2005-2017 and the unpublished data from the years 2005-2013. Results – The theoretical considerations on labour productivity have shown that a set of available indicators should be used and complemented with the index of technical equipment. The labour productivity in the enterprise sector was varied. In the years 2005-2017 it grew quite dynamically until 2013, however after this year it clearly decreased. Since 2014 there has been a more rapid increase in the labour costs (including wages) than in terms of the labour productivity. Implications /originality /value – The majority of the previous research available focuses on one of the measures of labour productivity, which is the relation of sales revenue (or gross added value) to the number of employees. The paper includes those indicators that contributed to an ambiguously positive image of the studied phenomenon and confirmed the legitimacy of using at least several different measures. In addition, this productivity was tested at the level of the PKD 2007 sections

Opis:
The aim of this paper is to present the changes taking place in the labour market in the renewable energy sector in the period before the COVID-19 pandemic and to show the opportunities and threats for this sector as a result of the changes taking place. Therefore, the factors shaping employment in the renewable energy sector, global employment in the sector and the role of the value chain in shaping the local labour market were analysed on the ex-ample of photovoltaics. Basic methods of descriptive statistics were used for this purpose. A SWOT analysis for the renewable energy market in the context of COVID-19 considerations was also carried out.

One of the main problems of agriculture in the CEEC, namely the level of employment in agricultural sector at the moment of their accession to the EU was presented in the report. The paper characterizes also the changes that have already happened and will have to happen in future. The level of employment in agriculture, share of agriculture in employment and the number of employed on 100 ha of UAA in CEEC and EU-15 were compared
W pracy przedstawiono poziom zatrudnienia w rolnictwie państw EŚiW w momencie akcesji do UE oraz przemiany, które nastąpiły po integracji z UE i które powinny mieć miejsce w przyszłości. Porównano wielkość zatrudnienia w sektorze rolnym, udział rolnictwa w zatrudnieniu ogółem oraz liczbę zatrudnionych na 100 ha UR w krajach EŚiW i UE-15. Wśród analizowanych krajów, które wstąpiły do UE w 2004 roku, rolnictwo polskie charakteryzuje się największym zatrudnieniem, wynoszącym 2,4 mln osób, co stanowi 70,4% ogółu zatrudnionych w sektorze rolnym krajów EŚiW i 38,8% zatrudnionych w rolnictwie UE-15. W państwach Wspólnoty, przeciętny udział rolnictwa w rynku zatrudnienia kształtował się na poziomie 3,8%. W krajach EŚiW najmniejszy udział aktywnych zawodowo w rolnictwie (4,4%) zaobserwowano w Cze chach, a największy w Polsce (17,6%). Największymi zasobami siły roboczej w odniesieniu do posiadanej powierzchni UR charakteryzują się rolnictwa słoweńskie i polskie, które ze względu na rozdrobnioną strukturę agrarną zatrudniały w 2004 roku na 100 ha UR odpowiednio 19 oraz 15 osób. Po wejściu do UE we wszystkich analizowanych krajach EŚiW występuje tendencja do zmniejszania zatrudnienia w rolnictwie.

The population ageing is an universal problem concerning all countries in the world, not only in Europe. The main sources of this process are decreasing fertility and increasing life expectancy. The migration has additional impact on ageing in some countries. The ageing of population means many new challenges in the field of economy and society. The quality of life of older people and the entire population as well depends on how countries will meet these challenges and how societies will adapt to the changing demographic conditions. Longer life can mean activity, health and participation, but it depends on properly planned activities in many areas of social and economic life. The phenomenon of ageing and the consequences associated with them are extremely complex and multilateral issues. The presented article focuses on the comparision of the process of ageing in different continents and countries, particularly in Poland. It concerns the problem of the ageing impact on labour market and health care sector as well.

Opis:
The spread of urban policies based on a set of standardised ‘creative city’ strategies has been criticised on a number of counts. In Scott’s (2006: 11) view, focusing just on “creating a high-quality urban environment, rich in cultural amenities and conducive to diversity in local social life” is too limited. He points out that the relationship between the presence of creative people and the development of a city is far more complex. The research undertaken as part of the European ACRE project (Accommodating Creative Knowledge: Competitiveness of Metropolitan Regions within the Enlarged Union) has revealed that access to a diversity of creative-labour-market opportunities is vital to both attract and retain talent in the longer term. Accessible and inclusive networks of creative workers are also vital, but their importance is often overlooked. The functionality of such networks has a huge impact on the possibility of finding a new job, and can be particularly important for lowering entry barriers for newcomers in creative occupations. Here, these issues are explored on the basis of a research conducted among managers of creative firms and international creative-class migrants in Poznań (Poland). This city has recently experienced major economic restructuring and a shift from the manufacturing industry towards a more creative and knowledge-based one.

The book ‘A Game on the Future of Public Services in Poland’, edited by Wiesława Kozek and published in 2011 by University of Warsaw Publishing House, comes exactly on time to deliver up-to-date comparative information about the public sector restructuring in Europe and its impact on the quality of the public services. The editor and the authors of nine chapters (Wiesława Kozek, Agnieszka Maciuk-Grochowska, Beata Radzka, Julia Kubisa, Damian Podawca, Piotr Ostrowski, Joerg Flecker, Christoph Hermann) draw from the results of three-year project PIQUE (Privatisation of Public Services and the Impact on Quality, Employment and Productivity), as well as research of the Sociology of Work and Organisation Unit of the Institute of Sociology, University of Warsaw. The PIQUE project was carried out in the years 2006–2009 and founded by the European Commission 6th Framework Programme. Based on the project’s results, the book cover four sectors, electricity, postal services, local public transport and health services/hospitals in six European countries (Austria, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Sweden and the UK). The sectors were chosen to reflect the diff erentiated levels of liberalisation and privatisation and the variety of regulatory solutions. Obviously, the main focus of the book is on Poland, but the authors pay particular attention to the international contextualisation of their sectoral and company cases.
