Opis:: Family is the most important educational environment. It is in the family that a child discovers the world of values. The opinions and attitude are shaped, traditions are recognized. A properly functioning family fulfils the basic needs for safety, love, security, and trust. Family shapes one's interests as well as securing and organising leisure time for children. The research conducted was to find an answer to the question: How does a family organize the leisure time of its children? The acquired data confirms the hypothesis that family organises the leisure time of its children and allows for the development of interests that foster the development of personality and introduce one to the world of values. Furthermore, a proper organisation of leisure time prevents the demoralisation of children and youth.

Opis:: The article is a summary of research into the perception of leisure time space, conducted in 2014 among Liceum students (aged 16-19) and members of the ‘Universities of the Third Age’ (U3A) in Łódź. The author compared perceptions of the idea of leisure time by both of these groups, studied how they spent it and described the factors which have a significant influence. Next, he analysed different approaches to the urban space of Łódź as well as comparing them to the spatial range and the types of visited places and events.

Opis:: Free time of children and adolescents is an important and interesting issue addressed by scholars of many disciplines. The article presents the theoretical basis of knowledge on contemporary free time paradoxes, the influence of the natural, cultural, and social environment on the organization and forms of spending free time by children and young people. The text describes factors facilitating and hindering the organization of leisure time of children and young people living in urban areas, as well as selected results of research and reports on leisure time of children and young people spending time in the city. The theoretical considerations examined in the article and the research results cited enabled conclusions for pedagogical practice concerning the free time of children and adolescents in urban areas.

Opis:: The article entitled “The consequences of structural transformations of leisure time on the ship” discusses the transformation of the structure of leisure time on the ship. The analysis is based empirical research carried out at an interval of forty years. The research material is supplemented with a statement posted on the seafarers' online forum. Comparative analysis revealed a tendency among respondents to the individual leisure activities. Such action is the isolation of the individual members of the ship's crew, and thus decrease the efficiency of cooperation in areas requiring seafarers. At the same time organizational changes in the modern fleet, which reduces to a minimum stopover in the port, thereby increasing the time of seafarers isolation from the broader social environment of intensifying the sense of social isolation. In the long term, lead to alienation of personality disorders influencing attitudes among other work.
