Aim. In Turkey, German ranks second after English as a foreign language in private courses, schools, and universities. There is an important relation between the selection of the subject of German courses, i.e., the detailed planning of the courses, and the implementation of the appropriate method.  In this research, the subject of cuisine was planned for teaching German at universities. The purpose of this research is the preparation, implementation and evaluation of a sample lesson focused on the selection of the subject of cuisine for German courses taught in the universities. Methods. This research on cuisine was qualitative in nature. The document analysis technique was used in the research (Kuş, 2007; Yıldırım & Şimşek, 2008). During the 2018/2019 academic year the researcher taught on the subject of cuisine selection in his German courses. The implementation and evaluation of the subject of cuisine are developed by Hasan Coşkun (2020) in accordance with the lesson planning model previously prepared. The materials used in this lesson are prepared according to the model developed by Coşkun (2020). The unit on cuisine has been revised for this article. Result and Conclusion. The success of the lesson planning model mentioned in this article was also observed in the activities conducted earlier. It was also seen that the students who attended German courses in connection with education or work in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland exerted efforts in establishing contact with the instructor and with other students attending the class. It was observed that participants talked about the Turkish, German, and Chinese cuisine in their families, peer groups, restaurants, and snack bars.  In addition to the subject discussed in the class, the method implemented in the lesson and the planning of the course according to the method, play an important role in the continuation of the students’ interest. Therefore, effective lesson planning models should be developed. This lesson model is also applicable to other languages. Originality. German is offered as a foreign language in Turkish schools in the second grade. Consequently, German is usually chosen as a second foreign language after English.  Students from all the departments of the university may attend the elective German language classes to study or work in Germany. The condition for participation in the courses “German for Erasmus” and “German for Communication,” taught by the researcher, aims to prepare the students to read and speak German at the A2 level. It is frequently observed that the participants speak German at different levels.  The overseas experience of the participants, the level of their German and their knowledge of other languages play an important role in this respect.  In recent years, the number of course participants from Germany and other countries have increased. The students who had been in German speaking countries within the Erasmus program participate in German courses to maintain their fluency in the German language. To conduct the courses effectively, a suitable method should be developed and such an approach will help the participants who come from different countries and students with different levels of fluency. It is believed that this inter-disciplinary research will contribute to the use of the active method during German lessons.

Aim. The aim of the research is to describe the model for lesson planning on peace education in teacher training. The used resources are aimed at filling the shortcomings in peace education and improve the value of the materials available to teachers. In preparing the lesson, a teacher, will either use the models available to him/her or develop his/her own models in time. Concept and Methods. This study was conducted by qualitative research. The document research technique was used in the study (Yıldırım & Şimşek, 2008, pp. 187-193). For the last three years, I have been working on the model related specifically to peace education as part of the project of the Turkish research institute called TÜBİTAK. Result and Conclusion. This model was presented during the academic year 2017/2018 at several conferences in Turkish, German and English. In this article, the topic of "Tolerance Towards Different Cultures" was chosen to define the practical part of the lesson preparation because this topic is of particular interest to many countries, due to migration. The refugees experience certain problems in the areas of language, culture, employment, social acceptance and prejudice. In order to minimize these problems, various measures are taken in the field of education. Originality. The participants showed great interest in the designing of the daily lesson planning and the implementation of this design in the teaching of peace in the training of the teachers. The studies in this field should be supported in order to increase peace education.   Keywords: Migration, cultural diversity, tolerance, peace education, lesson planning

Aim. In Turkey, in connection with the Bologna process, German is also taught in Turkish universities as an elective course. There is an important relationship between the selection of the subject in the elective German courses, detailed planning of the courses, and the implementation of the appropriate method. In this study, the subject of professions was planned for the elective German courses. The purpose of this study is the preparation, implementation and evaluation of a sample lesson to describe the selection of the subject of professions for the German course taught as an elective course in the universities. Concept and Methods. This study was conducted by qualitative research. The document research technique was used in the study (Yıldırım & Şimşek, 2008). During the 2018/2019 academic year, I taught about the subject of profession selection in my German courses. I prepared, implemented and evaluated the subject of professions according to the lesson planning model I had previously developed (Coşkun, 2018). I prepared the materials used in this course according to this model. Result and Conclusion. The success of the lesson planning model mentioned above was also observed in the activities conducted earlier. It was also seen that the students who attended German courses in connection with the Bologna process exerted efforts in establishing contact with the instructor and the students attending the class. It was observed that the participants introduced themselves, mentioned the field or the branch in the university where they were studying, and were interested to gain experience abroad in order to be successful in their professions. In addition to the subject discussed in the class, the method implemented in the lesson and the planning of the lesson according to the method, play an important role in the continuation of this interest. Therefore, effective lesson planning models and unique methods should be developed. Origin. Students from all the departments of the university may attend the elective German language classes opened in connection with the Bologna process. The condition for participation in the courses “German for Erasmus” and “German for Communication” which I teach, is to learn German at the A1 level. It is frequently observed that the participants speak German at different levels. The overseas experience of the participants, the quality of the German and other language education they had received from primary to high school and university play an important role in this. In the recent years, the number of participants from German and other foreign language speaking countries has increased. The students who had been in German-speaking countries under the Erasmus program participate in the German courses also to maintain their fluency in the German language. In order to execute the German courses effectively for different purposes, for different fields and participants coming from different countries and students with different levels of fluency, a suitable method should be developed. Proces przystosowania materiałów dydaktycznych z języka polskiego jako obcego do zasad podejścia zadaniowego
Process of adapting teaching aids of Polish as a foreign language to the rules of task-based approach
Autorzy:
Janowska, Iwona
Opis:
Reading CEFR texts that use the task-based approach to teaching/learning foreign languages enables teachers to develop a critical approach towards the teaching aids that they have at their disposal and the ways they can be used in didactic process. In order to be up-to-date and teach Polish as a foreign language according to the rules of task-based approach the teacher must prepare the teaching aids on his own. However, older textbooks must not necessarily be banned and rejected. They often contain interesting examples of exercises that can be used during language classes. The main topic of the article is to present several ways of adapting the traditional textbooks to teaching and learning through the task-based approach. The author of the article asserts that it is not the type of textbook that decides about the method of teaching; on the contrary, with a little effort the teacher can apply a task-based approach using 'traditional' materials.

The aim of the article is to point out the risk that lies in the uncontrolled freedom of choosing methods and techniques of teaching foreign languages. The author also tries to find solutions to this problem. In the first part of the article the main methodological conceptions are presented. The need to remain coherent is underlined here. Some of the most commonly used schemas of foreign language lessons are presented by the author. Characteristics of CEFR concludes the first part of the article. CEFR is regarded as an element, which links past and present in glottodidactics. The second part of the article contains hints and remarks on planning lessons and methodological units. The author concentrates on task-oriented teaching, she explains the specific character of task-based lessons and suggests how to keep such lessons coherent.
