Opis:
A palimpsest is a manuscript written on previously used writing material, from which the previous text has been erased, but it is legible thanks to the use of ultraviolet rays, digital cameras and new processing techniques. The liturgical palimpsests have survived most often in the form of larger or smaller fragments of old liturgical books, which have been dissected, dispersed and trimmed to a new format. They are valuable sources of knowledge for research in the field of worship history, especially the history of the ancient Gallic, Celtic and Mozarabic liturgies. The list of liturgical palimpsests provided in this catalogue includes the place of storage, the reference number of the codex, foglia with the original text (scriptura inferior), their current sizes, type of the liturgical book, time and the determined or probable place of its creation, and a bibliography with the publication (if any).

Opis:
The Hispanic Mass was the first among all Western liturgical traditions to welcome the Symbol of Faith within the ritual sequence. The Professio fidei, still present in the rite of the Hispanic-Mozarabic Mass, renewed after the Second Vatican Council, is characterized not only by the retention of the plural at the beginning (Credimus in place of Credo known in the Roman rite), corresponding to the conciliar text, but also by its specific ritual placement, before the prayer of the Our Father. The present contribution, beginning with a critical study of the sources, offers a historical look at the genesis and development of the liturgical use of the Symbol of Faith in the Hispanic Mass. Based on the insights of the methods of comparative liturgy it also intends to offer a broader context of the process of the evolution of liturgical rites. The study conducted with scientific criteria was also able to challenge, among other things, the idea of the ordinary presence of the Professio fidei in the history of the Hispanic Mass from the time of its appearance toward the end of the 6th century.

Opis:
The dedication of a Church is not the only rite that is used for the initiation of a new place of Christian worship. At the beginning of the construction of a building, liturgical sources provide for the Rite of Foundation of a Church in which blessings are asked on both the workers and also on the future edifice. This paper gives a comparative analysis of prayers used in the rites of the Byzantine-Greek and Latin traditions. Although both traditions have different theological emphasis they also have similarities too. This study bears fruit in allowing us to create a common ecumenical definition of the church-building arising from these analysed texts – it is the future place of Christian worship which (ἐκκλησία, ecclesia) is a house (οἶκος) constructed (opus) for God, to celebrate His glory (cf. Es 40,34-35; Ez 9,3) in and through the divine mysteries (templum). This place is made by the community of the faithful and it from this same community it takes its name (ἐκκλησία, ecclesia).

Even if each liturgy of the different liturgical traditions has its own characteristics which are results of the different evolution and different theological approaches, in its lessens it still remains the one and same liturgy of the Church. Before describing the common DNA of the Christian liturgy, as the starting point of this paper, we showed a couple of elements which differ the rites of the Church. In the main part of the study the elements containing the common liturgical DNA were presented. Among them we pointed: the Jewish liturgy, proclamation of the Kerygma, sacramental life, the common proto-geography, euchology which lex orandi and the structure of the Eucharistic Prayer.
Chociaż liturgia Kościoła w każdej z tradycji liturgicznych posiada własne cechy charakterystyczne będące wynikiem odrębnej ewolucji oraz różnego rozłożenia akcentów teologicznych i celebracyjnych,to w swojej istocie jest jedną i tą samą liturgią jednego Kościoła. W punkcie wyjścia niniejszego studium ukazano elementy różniące poszczególne ryty w Kościele, a następnie te, które składają się na wspólny genotyp wszystkich wspólnot. Wśród nich szczególną uwagę zwrócono na liturgię żydowską, głoszenie kerygmatu, życie sakramentalne, wspólną geografię początków, euchologię wraz z ukrytym w niej lex orandi oraz strukturę Modlitwy Eucharystycznej.

Opis:
The aim of the paper is to present briefly first of all the history of the development of the Lectionary for the use in the Holy Mass, then to summarize the principal of the present lectionary and it’s ecumenical meaning, and more specifically it’s influence on the protestant lectionary. Based on these historical facts and the recent documents of the Holy See, the proposal of the partial renewal of the Sunday Lectionary will be discussed. The main method used in the study is the analysis of the historical sources, documents of the Holy See and theological studies. The critical analysis, and then comparative method will lead to synthetical presentation of postulates of the partial renewal of the present lectionary after fifty years of usage in the liturgy. The conclusion of the analysis provides the suggestions for the enrichment of the lectionary first of all, with the passages from the Old Testament read in their whole context, not only according to the harmonization with the text of the Gospel; secondly, with the thematic selection of the second reading compatible with the first reading, and the Gospel reading; thirdly, with the texts pointing out the role of women in the history of salvation.

Opis:
The Second Vatican Council contributed much to the development of the theology of the liturgy, liturgical theology, but also introduced some practical and legal changes in the celebration and organization of liturgical life. The way to liturgical reform was reopened primarily by involving the laity. Liturgy, as the source and summit of Christian life, gives meaning to the Church and strengthens it on the way of salvation. The article reflects on and develops the truths contained in the “Conciliar Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy” regarding the nature of the liturgy itself as well as its meaning in the life of the Church. The text covers the issues covered in numbers 5–13. The author wants to clarify and deepen the document’s message in the light of Church teaching and the Bible.
