W artykule przedstawiono rozważania dotyczące audytu logistycznego, który coraz częściej wykorzystywany jest jako instrument umożliwiający doskonalenie systemu logistycznego, poprzez wskazanie przyczyn powstawania zakłóceń i ustalenie kierunków usprawnień systemu. Wyniki audytu logistycznego stanowią źródło poprawy w zakresie redukcji kosztów i poprawy poziomu obsługi logistycznej. W artykule zaprezentowano pojęcie i istotę audytu logistycznego, a także wskazano na możliwe obszary jego zastosowania. Podsumowanie stanowi propozycja procedury audytu logistycznego dla przedsiębiorstwa przemysłowego.
