Opis:: Lean management has become a much-researched topic in operations management. Beyond its technical aspects, nowadays the analysis of soft factors (corporate culture, organization, management, human resource management, knowledge transfer practices) have come to the fore. However, there are few sources available to the lean organization to ﬁnd out what organizational changes are taking place alongside the lean application, and what organizational structures are being developed. In our study ﬁrst we deal with the literature-based concepts of lean organizational structure and with the international examples, and then through ﬁve Hungarian corporate solutions and with help of the literature of organizational theories we synthesize the lean organizational forms.

Opis:: The article is devoted to one of the typical organization structures used in project managing, i.e. the matrix structure. On the basis of research into subject literature its characteristic features, and advantages and disadvantages are described. In particular, the form of this structure, the distribution of roles between project managers and line managers, their duties, typical causes of conflicts, and rules of coordination and cooperation are discussed. Also some varieties of matrix structures are presented. Next, ideal conditions are specified in which the matrix structure may be applied and the problems that are connected with its use. One of the conditions of implementation of this kind of structure is the proper organization culture. The advantages and disadvantages of the structure are discussed considering such questions as: the very project, its manager, functional cells and project personnel.

Opis:: The main aim of the article is to present a theoretically well-grounded discussion on Competitive Intelligence and its computing support. This article is an attempt to answer the following questions: (1) What is the idea of Competitive Intelligence and its computer support? (2) How to use the Competition Profile Matrix (CPM), Business Model Canvas (BMC), Resource Based View (RBV) and Industrial Organization (IO) in competition analysis? (3) What are their advantages for Computer Aided CI? The search for answers to these questions was conducted mainly on the basis of theoretical and empirical research. Streszczenie: Głównym celem artykułu jest przedstawienie teoretycznie dobrze ugruntowanej dyskusji na temat Competitive Intelligence i jego wspomagania komputerowego. Niniejszy artykuł jest próbą odpowiedzi na następujące pytania: (1) Jaka jest idea inteligencji konkurencyjnej i jej wspomagania komputerowego? (2) Jak wykorzystać macierz profili konkurencji (CPM), kanwę modelu biznesowego (BMC), widok oparty na zasobach (RBV) i organizację przemysłową (IO) w analizie konkurencji? (3) Jakie są ich zalety dla wspomaganej komputerowo CI? Poszukiwanie odpowiedzi na te pytania prowadzone było głównie na podstawie badań teoretycznych i empirycznych.
Głównym celem artykułu jest przedstawienie teoretycznie dobrze ugruntowanej dyskusji na temat Competitive Intelligence i jego wspomagania komputerowego. Opis:: Although literary style is usually considered in the context of a single national language, one characteristic of literary texts is the possibility of utilizing linguistic means from several languages and to connect them in various ways. Usually, there is an opposition between the matrix language (the language of the community for whom the text is primarily intended) and passages formulated in other, embedded languages, which take on the role of foreign languages in relation to the matrix language. The description of the style of such texts must respect their multilingual character, i.e. it must observe the principles of selection and organization of the linguistic means both in relation to the matrix language and to the embedded language(s). The features of the style of multilingual texts are presented in this study through three examples from 20th-century Czech literature: Jaromír John’s short story collection Veèery na slamníku (Evenings on a Straw Mattress, 1920), Jan Novák’s short story collection Striptease Chicago (1983) and Jan Křesadlo’s novel La calle Neruda (1995).

Opis:: Purpose: To receive the answers to the following research problems: (1) How is the interest of researchers in whistleblowing in health care organizations developing? (2) How do researchers define whistleblowing in health care? (3) What are the main problems (limitations) of whistleblowing in health care organizations? (4) What factors affect whistleblowing in health care organizations? Design/methodology/approach: The method of systematic literature review based on the PRISMA model was used. To identify the factors affecting whistleblowing, McKinsey’s 7S framework was used. Findings: The researchers from the UK definitely dominate, and the papers from Central European countries seem to be invisible. The vast majority of works came from the 2010s. Whistleblowing serves the good and safety of the patient; however, there are staff concerns about the consequences they may face. ‘Style’, ‘staff’ and ‘shared values’ seem to be the most crucial for whistleblowing, and these are factors considered ‘soft’. Research limitations: The access to databases managed by the home University. In future studies, there is a need to take into account other databases, including additional sources of knowledge, like books and grey literature. Originality/implications: Identifying the state and place of research worldwide on whistleblowing in health care, and a proposal of the whistleblowing verification matrix. New definitions of whistleblowing and whistleblowers were proposed. The above may be considered theoretical contribution to science.
Cel: uzyskanie odpowiedzi na pytania: (1) jak rozwija się zainteresowanie badaczy whistleblowingiem w organizacjach opieki zdrowotnej; (2) jak badacze definiują whistleblowing w opiece zdrowotnej; (3) jakie są podstawowe problemy (ograniczenia) dotyczące whistleblowingu w organizacjach opieki zdrowotnej; (4) jakie czynniki wpływają na whistleblowing w organizacjach opieki zdrowotnej? Projekt/metodyka/podejście: wykorzystano metodę systematycznego przeglądu literatury przedmiotu w oparciu o model PRISMA. W identyfikacji czynników wpływających na whistleblowing zastosowano model 7S McKinseya. Wnioski: zdecydowanie dominują prace naukowców z Wielkiej Brytanii, natomiast opracowania z krajów Europy Centralnej wydają się być niezauważalne. Większość prac pochodzi z pierwszej dekady XXI wieku. Whistleblowing przyczynia się do zapewnienia dobrostanu i bezpieczeństwa pacjenta, jednak istnieją obawy personelu związane z konsekwencjami, jakich mogą doświadczyć w tym względzie. ‘Styl’, ‘kadry’ i ‘wspólne wartości’ jawią się jako krytyczne dla whistleblowingu i zaliczają się one do czynników „miękkich”. Ograniczenia badania: dostęp do bazy danych tylko macierzystego Uniwersytetu. W przyszłych badaniach należy uwzględnić inne bazy danych, w tym dodatkowe źródła, jak książki i tzw. literaturę szarą. Oryginalność/implikacje: zidentyfikowanie stanu i miejsca światowych badań na temat whistleblowingu w opiece zdrowotnej i zaproponowanie macierzy do weryfikacji wdrożenia whistleblowingu. Propozycja nowej definicji whistleblowingu i whistleblowera. Powyższe może być uznane jako wkład do nauki.

Opis:: Theoretical background: These studies are motivated by three reasons: (1) the Competitive Intelligence (CI) approach is a critical factor in increasing the organization’s ability to monitor and strengthen competitive advantage; (2) too little research has been done on the use of new management theories in the CI approach and (3) there is no research devoted to computer-assisted CI. Purpose of the article: This study proposes a comprehensive framework for extending the CI’s potential in the organization’s activities and its computer-assisted support. The purpose of this article is to develop a new CI construction theory and propose a holistic, conceptual CI model, as well as carry out its initial verification. Research methods: The comprehensive CI model is based on the following theories: (1) Resource-Based View (RBV), Industrial Organization (IO) and Business Model Canvas, which were used for CI design, (2) theories for measuring and validating CI implementation, i.e.: Competitive Profile Matrix (CPM), Industrial Critical Success Factors (ICSF) and (3) theories for integrated computer-assisted CI. The validation of the proposed comprehensive CI model was based on data on the opinions of SUV class users. Main findings: The results obtained during the validation of the CI model show great importance for a comprehensive look at the topic of computer-assisted CI. This contribution is significant because in the literature there are no such studies and conclusions obtained from them. The results obtained and conclusions should be useful for all organizations that need to analyze competitiveness using a comprehensive CI model.
