Opis:
The need to develop online classes in the COVID-19 pandemic era was undeniable. This study aimed to investigate students’ learning achievement and their feedback in digital vocabulary class, which utilized Kahoot! and Socrative as drilling practice tools. It was quasi-experimental research on first-year students of the Railway Mechanical Technology program in Indonesian Railway Polytechnic (N=48). The primary data was gathered from vocabulary pretest and posttest. Then, the test results were analyzed using paired t-test, Pearson r correlation, and Cohen d coefficient. The supporting data were collected by giving a questionnaire to know students’ feedbacks. The results revealed that the digital class effectively improved students’ learning vocabulary achievement in English for railway mechanical technology. The questionnaire results showed positive feedback from the students in learning through digital platforms.

Opis:
The aim of this article is to familiarise the reader with the issue of virtual laboratories and to demonstrate their possible use on a concrete example. This example deals with the use of virtual laboratories in the teaching of mechanical engineering in high schools and universities. The Covid-19 pandemic has led to significant changes in the teaching process and its organisation. In this period, teaching usually took place online, which was implemented using resources such as Google Classroom or MS Teams. This article presents a sample task a project on which students of the second and third year of study at a secondary technical school are working. The project has an interdisciplinary character, because during its implementation students apply and further develop skills and knowledge from several subjects, namely physics, mechanics, chemistry and CAD design. The project is dedicated to the design of a pulley casting for a steel rope.

Opis:
An analysis of the basic properties of geotextiles obtained by two-sided needle punching and by two-layered needle punching on the fabric underlay is presented in this paper. The influence of geotextile production technology on their functional properties was evaluated, the parameters of geotextiles manufactured from staple fibres by mechanical needle punching were compared for both techniques, and the influence of the mass per unit area on the mechanical and hydraulic properties is shown. It was found that geotextiles obtained by two-sided needle punching had very good hydraulic properties thanks to their spatial structure, whereas geotextiles obtained by two-layered needle punching on the fabric underlay, apart from good hydraulic properties, had very good tensile strength and small elongation at a maximum load, which is particularly useful for reinforcement.
W pracy zaprezentowano analizę podstawowych właściwości geowłóknin otrzymanych techniką igłowania mechanicznego dwustronnego i techniką igłowania dwuwarstwowego na podkładzie tkaninowym. Dokonano oceny wpływu techniki wytwarzania geowłóknin na ich właściwości użytkowe, porównano parametry geowłóknin wytwarzanych z włókien odcinkowych w procesie igłowania mechanicznego dla obu technik, zobrazowano wpływ masy powierzchniowej na właściwości mechaniczne i hydrauliczne geowłóknin. Stwierdzono, że geowłókniny wytwarzane metodą dwustronnego igłowania wykazują bardzo dobre właściwości hydrauliczne, natomiast geowłókniny wytwarzane na podkładzie tkaninowym, obok właściwości hydraulicznych charakteryzują się bardzo dobrymi właściwościami wytrzymałościowymi, szczególnie przydatnymi dla funkcji zbrojeniowej.

In the domain of the equipment and apparatus construction, a permanent preoccupation worldwide is ensuring technical performances and high fiability in exploitation. The users’ requirement growth in this field led to producing materials with high characteristics such as iron-nickel alloys having a high nickel content with special magnetic, thermal, or elastic properties. The theoretical and experimental researches had the aim of obtaining cold rolled strip, thin (2.6 mm) and narrow (86 mm) from iron-nickel alloys with 41% Ni (low content of C: 0.02-0.04%; Fe: 58%; other elements: Mn, Si, Cu, Cr, Al: under 1%). Our own experiments aimed to establish an optimal cold rolling technology of hot rolled strips of iron-nickel alloys, in order to obtain cold rolled strips with superior mechanical and technological characteristics, strip profile according to current standards, including a finished product characterization.

Opis:
The article was inspired by information in the literature regarding damage to medium-pressure diving hoses, which, as a result of the crystallisation of material on their inner surface and the detachment of particles, caused significant interference with the output of the pressure regulator. A dangerous consequent 'clogging' of the airflow in stage II of the breathing apparatus and an increase in the effort in the diver's lungs to overcome the increased breathing resistance resulted. This problem was investigated in the paper. Nozzles with reduced diameters were fabricated to simulate the deterioration of the automaton conditions. A suitably selected regulator from a domestic manufacturer's was used for the tests. A series of measurements was carried out in a breathing simulator for the established experimental conditions specified in the standard PN-EN 250:2014. Following the test, the results obtained were analysed and interpreted based on statistical description methods.

The paper presents the results of an engineering thesis carried out at the Department of Underwater Works Technology of the Naval Academy in Gdynia. The subject of the thesis was to improve calculations during the production of a trimix mixture based on a previously produced nitrox mixture. This was done by developing a dedicated computer application. The article describes the reasons for using artificial breathing mixes, an application developed as part of the thesis and the method of its initial verification along with the directions for further research activities.
W materiale przedstawiono efekty pracy dyplomowej inżynierskiej realizowanej w Katedrze Technologii Prac Podwodnych Akademii Marynarki Wojennej w Gdyni. Przedmiotem pracy było usprawnienie obliczeń podczas produkcji mieszaniny trimiksowej na bazie uprzednio wytworzonej mieszaniny nitroksowej. Dokonano tego w drodze opracowania specjalnej aplikacji komputerowej. W artykule opisano przyczyny stosowania sztucznych czynników oddechowych, opracowaną w ramach pracy dyplomowej aplikację oraz sposób jej wstępnej weryfikacji, a także kierunki dalszych działań badawczych.

Materials are evolving today faster than at any time in history. In nowadays developing a technique and technology considerably enlarge the exposure of the applicable materials, new materials are created still with much better mechanical and technological properties. Their development and prevalence quickly increase. Today wide use such materials that still recently call by future materials. In the several responsible engineering industry, as well as instrument engineering and other industries do better with “high – performance” composites, new engineering ceramics, high – strength polymers etc., what had previously been done with metals. Choosing of materials is very important in several engineering industries, construction and instrument engineering industries, for example, crash of bench constructions is one of the reasons that the engineer who designed them used wrong materials or did not understand the properties of those used. Therefore for rational utilization materials, we need to know not only their properties, but also need understand factors, witch provides this properties. Therefore we should know how to select materials which best fit the demands of the design – economic and aesthetic demands, as well as demands of strength and durability. Choice of materials of pressure originated details, as also many manufacturing of other important details, which is one of the most actual problems in nowadays. First of all this article shows advantages and disadvantages of the conditions of materials choice of pressure originated details in. The most rational conditions of materials choice, way how to eliminate possibility mistakes, witch can lead down to different difficulties are given for the manufacturing of the definite group of details. There is an example witch describes conditions of materials choice for oil flooded screw compressors. The denotations of different standards of the utilized materials are analyzed in this article. As well as the economic parameters of the various materials in the manufacturing of the oil flooded screw compressors are analyzed. At the end of the article are given possibilities of the improving of materials. We can achieve improving of materials with different materials processing methods, which I had analyzed, for example, using mechanical, thermal, thermal-chemical processing or using different surfaces covering. In nowadays thermal processing method based on metal physic, dislocation theory and changes of metal structure regularity. These processing methods improve physical and mechanical properties of materials.
