The metaphysical bare substratum theory and investigations concerning visual perception (Based on MOT Experiment in the Zenon Pylyshyns interpretation)
Metafizyczna koncepcja nagiego substratu a badania nad percepcją wzrokową (na przykładzie eksperymentu MOT w interpretacji Zenona Pylyshyna)
Autorzy:
Skrzypulec, Błażej
Opis:
The paper juxtaposes the metaphysical theory of bare substrate (which is a theory of an individual object) with the results of research on visual perception - the MOT experiment and the FINST concept, by Zenon Pylyshyn, related to the experiment. The author points out the similarities between the theory of bare substrate and the FINST idea and then presents to what extent the MOT result might be an argument for the adequacy of the theory of bare substrate as a theory of individual object. Moreover, taking the above concepts as an example, it will be shown how metaphysical theories can be justified by results of empirical research (in order to do this, some falsifiable hypotheses will be inferred from the theory of bare substrate) and how metaphysical theories can be used to interpret test results.

What might deconstruction be ?
Czym może być dekonstrukcja?
Autorzy:
Kopka, Aleksander
Opis:
In my article I consider deconstruction as a philosophical strategy. The problems which arise with the explication of what deconstruction might be result from the fact that deconstruction escapes full conceptualization and does not allow itself to be presented as a philosophical method. Such resistance does not mean that we cannot recognize manifestations of deconstruction in the body of a text whose structural incoherence will not allow us to recover one rightful meaning, since every text is constantly in deconstruction, opening itself to innumerable interpretations. Therefore, deconstruction is something that one cannot control, but at the same time it makes every textual operation possible.

Theodor W. Adorno on the embodiment of the ban on images : an introduction
Wcielenie zakazu przedstawiania według Theodora W. Adorna : wprowadzenie
Autorzy:
Górski, Jakub
Opis:
The paper is a commentary on Elizabeth Pritchard’s essay Bilderverbot Meets Body in Theodor W. Adorno’s Inverse Theology. The ban on images is examined in the light of Adorno’s treatment of the character and role of the body. The link between Bilderverbot and the body, in context of social relationships, defines the form of the Other’s subjectivity. Pritchard criticizes Adorno’s claim that hidden theology influences the emancipatory praxis. He makes his theory universal by resigning from reconciliation and focusing on the relationships between authority, ideology, and suffering. However, the ban of images is supposed to reverse the picture of reconciliation in favor of the status quo. The connection between Bilderverbot and the body also determines the content and meaning of a new categorical imperative in Adorno, which relies on giving carnality its proper place in emancipatory discourse. I conclude that the relationship between tradition and critical emancipation finds the need to constantly request for possibility of reconciliation in social realms without anticipating it.
