Opis:
In all measurement systems of radiation, the detector is the most important part. We can say that it is the heart of these systems. Gas detectors are still the most popular type of detector. Modern technologies allow manufacturing gas detectors having a very good energy and position (2D) resolution, high efficiency, large effective area, small count rate effect, radiation hardness, good signal-to-noise ratio and not complicated structure. These detectors are very fast and can stably work for a long period of time. One advantage of gas detectors is the possibility to read not only charge, but also UV light generated in the detector. In this paper we want to make a review of construction, mechanical properties, performance and possible applications of the following so-called micropattern gas detectors (MPGD): microstrip gas chamber (MSGC), gas electron multiplier (GEM), MICRO-MEsh GAseous Structure (MICROMEGAS) and capillary plate detector (CP).

Opis:
This paper is a report on low gain antennas (LGAs) manufactured with bonded lightweight materials. These antennas can sustain large temperature variations and are capable of functioning in modern miniature spacecraft, mainly in the telemetry, command and ranging (TC&R) links. When made of cheaper materials, the proposed circularly polarized antenna can be widely used in the base stations of short-range wireless systems. The recommended operating frequencies are between 1 and 8 GHz. One major technical consideration is obtaining the required high quality of circular polarization with as low space demands as possible. A lightweight 90? polarizer, printed on a dielectric membrane and operating over a broad bandwidth, is proposed for the antenna feed. Owing to the bandwidth advantage of the polarizer and the use of carefully designed aperture coupled feed, the electrical characteristics maintain good properties over a wide frequency range (15%).

Opis:
An electrically small microstrip patch antenna based on high permittivity dielectric and magnetodielectric materials (MDM) is investigated in this paper. The basic parameters of microstrip patch antennas based on high dielectric and magnetodielectric materials are compared with other solutions. The analysis shows that an MDM-based patch surface is 7.14 times smaller when compared with a suspended plate antenna. The use of MDM improves bandwidth and offers perfect impedance matching between the material and free space, over a much wider bandwidth.

Opis:
This paper presents how machine learning techniques may be applied in the process of designing a compact dual-band H-shaped rectangular microstrip antenna (RMSA) operating in 0.75–2.20 GHz and 3.0–3.44 GHz frequency ranges. In the design process, the same dimensions of upper and lower notches are incorporated, with the centered position right in the middle. Notch length and width are verified for investigating the antenna. An artificial neural network (ANN) model is developed from the simulated dataset, and is used for shape prediction. The same dataset is used to create a mathematical model as well. The predicted outcome is compared and it is determined that the model relying on ANN offers better results.

Opis:
A split circular element is proposed as a unit cell for reflectarray antennas. The unit cell is derived from a circle divided into four equal sectors. The radius of two oppositely located sectors is then scaled by a certain factor to form the proposed shape. The CST Microwave Studio Suite software simulator was used to investigate the performance of the proposed unit cell, which was evaluated using Floquet port excitation. The designed element's reflection phase range was compared to that of a conventional circular patch. Four scenarios of varied substrate characteristics are investigated for the antenna to establish the best performance parameters. The simulations showed that a basic substrate with a thickness of 0.16 mm and a dielectric constant of 3.2, backed by a 3 mm foam with a dielectric constant of 1.05 and a scaling factor of 0.72 offers a wide phase range of 601.3°. The obtained phase slope is 76.37°/mm or 134°/GHz.

The article presents a high gain WAT microstrip antenna designed for 5G communication systems operating in the 38 GHz band. The antenna concerned has a compact structure with dimensions of 5. 16× 5. 05 mm. Rogers RT5880 laminate with a dielectric coefficient of 2. 2 and a thickness of 0. 254 mm was used as its substrate. The antenna works at a center frequency of 38 GHz and is characterized by a low reflection coefficient of – 29 .11 dB, a high energy gain of 7. 61 dB and a wide operating band of 1 .21 GHz (3. 18%). The paper presents an analysis of the simulation results and measurements of the device’s electrical parameters and radiation patterns.

Opis:
A linear 1×4 antenna array built on the Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 substrate is proposed in this paper to acquire high gain for 5G applications. The proposed design resonates at 38 GHz, i.e. in the Ka-band region, and has small patch dimensions of 5.5×2 mm. The design is simulated using CST studio. The main element consists of X-slot that provides a gain of 6.98 dB with the return loss of –24.25 dB whereas a linear array of 4 elements is made which is fed by the 50Ω m-line using the corporate feeding network which yields a gain of 13.84 dB, as well as the return loss is –15.72 dB. The centreto-centre spacing (d) of elements in the antenna array is 0.8λ.

Opis:
This paper presents a novel complementary CPWfed slotted microstrip patch antenna for operation at 2.4 GHz, 5.2 GHz and 6.3 GHz frequencies. The primary structure consists of the complementary split ring resonator slots on a patch and the design is fabricated on FR-4 epoxy substrate with substrate thickness of 1.6 mm. The described structure lacks the presence of a ground plane and makes use of a number of circular complementary SRRs along with rectangular slots on the radiating patch. The structure provides a wide bandwidth of around 390 MHz, 470 MHz and 600 MHz at the three bands with return losses of -11.5 dB, -24.3996dB and -24.4226 dB, respectively. The inclusion of the rectangular slots in the CSRR based slot antenna with stairecase structure improved the performance with respect to return loss.

Opis:
The filtering antenna provides both radiation and filtering features and is an important component for the RF front-end of wireless devices. The main function of a filtering antenna is to reject out-of-band signals, thus reducing the interference from adjacent channels. The aim of the present work is to design a 2.6 GHz microstrip filtering antenna for 4G and 5G global mobile services. The filtering antenna is designed using a hairpin bandpass filter integrated with an elliptical microstrip aerial. Good impedance matching is obtained by using appropriate dimensions of the hairpin bandpass filter. The 10 dB return loss bandwidth of the filtering antenna is approx. 5.7%, with the maximum gain for the elliptical filtering antenna of approx. 2.2 dB. Good agreements between the measured and simulated results are obtained for the proposed filtering antenna and the bandwidth covers almost the entire 2.6 GHz band.
