Opis:
Aim/purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of transformational leadership (TL) on innovative work behavior (IWB) among middle management in the non-metallic mineral products industry, focusing on job crafting (JC) and knowledge- -sharing behavior (KSB) as mediating factors. Design/methodology/approach – Employing a cross-sectional design, this study inves-tigated the non-metallic minerals industry in Indonesia through a deductive approach. Data was collected from an online survey of 237 middle management personnel. A par-tial least squares SEM and mediation analysis using the bootstrap method were used for the data analysis. Findings – The study reveals that TL significantly enhances KSB and IWB among middle management in the non-metallic minerals industry. However, JC did not considerably affect IWB and did not mediate the TL-IWB relationship, challenging the established paradigms. These results underscore the complex dynamics between leadership, innovation, and JC, highlighting the need for further research into contextual factors that influence these relation-ships and the pivotal role of KSB in driving IWB. Research implications/limitations – This study enhances the social exchange theory (SET) by examining the interplay between TL, JC, KSB, and IWB in Indonesia’s non-metallic minerals sector. Practical insights include leadership training for fostering innovation and embedding knowledge sharing into daily routines to enhance innovations among middle management. Originality/value/contribution – This research offers novel insights into the intricate roles of TL, JC, and KSB in fostering IWB within the Indonesian non-metallic minerals sector. It challenges the existing paradigms about JC roles, highlighting the conditional influences of organizational context and leadership dynamics on IWB.

Praca została utworzona na podstawie analizy badań literaturowych, źródeł internetowych oraz w oparciu o przeprowadzone badania własne.
The purpose of the following dissertation is to present management styles and conduct style research among middle managers. The dissertation consists of four chapters. The first chapter presents an outline of the essence of management and selected aspects related to the managerial position. The second chapter contains description of the management function and different management styles. The third chapter is a set of methodological information. The fourth chapter contains an empirical part, that is, own research on the styles of management of middle-level staff on the example of a clothing company. The dissertation was created on the basis of literature research, Internet sources and based on the own survey.

Opis:
The article shows the possible ways of use of federated database technologies in data management in the logistic chains of companies. The architectures and components of software for creating the federated systems and some suggestions for the architecture of data management information systems for companies are presented in the text. The mentioned solution stands a proposal to resolve the difficult problem of cooperation between the computer information systems in companies, which refers to making the data of company available to the external users and managing data in the logistic chain. The authors included an overall review of commercial software, which can be used to build the software of data managing in the chains of cooperating companies.

Palynological and archaeobotanical analyses were conducted on excavated sediments from Tse Dura, a Later Stone Age rock shelter in north-central Nigeria with the aim of reconstructing the environment conditions at the site within the last millennium. From 933 ± 29 BP to 802 ± 29 BP, the environment alternated between Guinea savanna with dry conditions, and secondary and riverine forests with humid conditions. During these periods of environmental fluctuations, the LSA populations engaged in the management of economic plants the most significant of which included Dioscorea spp. Pennisetum glaucum and Elaeis guineensis, and exploited wild plants such as Pavetta crassipes, Sarcocephalus latifolius and Lophira cf. lanceolata for dietary and ethnomedicinal purposes. Around 310 ± 30 BP cal, the environment became very wet after which it was succeeded by a drier period. It was during this period that Sorghum bicolor became prominent, and the environment attained its current status dominated by Guinea savanna elements and secondary forests.

The endowment of a church consisted of two funds: dos beneficii (for the use of the parson) and fabrica ecclesiae (for maintenance of the church also in terms of daily liturgy).2 In practice the border between those two spheres of ecclesial assets was not clearly drawn. This occasionally caused problems in the day to day functioning of the church and led to the establishment of secular control of the income of fabrica ecclesiae. In the sources, people appointed to exercise this control are denoted by the following terms: tutores, oeconomi, provisores, questores, viri ecclesiastici, intermittently aedile (edile), but most often vitrici / vitrici ecclesiae, and in German language sources: Kirchenmeister, Kirchenvetter (Kirchenfeter). The institution of the vitrici developed in the West during the 13th  century.The vitrici of the parish churches in late medieval Poland become visible in the sources from the beginning of the 14th century, already as an institution well ingrained in the reality of the Polish church. They are in the centre of the author’s attention. Her object is to determine the state of hitherto research, highlight the possibilities of seeking further information, and study this milieu and its activities. The author focuses mainly on material from the Greater Poland area.

Objectives The study has aimed to identify the relations between the supplementary person–organization fit (P–O fit) and the perceived stress among managerial staff, with special regard to the mediating role of the effort–reward balance. Material and Methods The study sample consisted of 715 middle-level managers, aged 25–64 years old, employed in large companies. To measure the selected variables, the authors used the Questionnaire of Effort–Reward Imbalance (ERI), Perceived Stress Scale – 10 (PSS-10), and Person–Organization Fit Questionnaire. Results The regression analysis revealed that the perceived effort–reward imbalance partially mediated the negative relationship between the supplementary person–organization fit and stress. Conclusions The results suggest that even when the characteristics of the manager and organization are highly congruent, the managers will experience stress if their work involves heavy effort or when this effort is not compensated properly. Palaeoecological and archaeological studies conducted in Mozgawa (southern Poland) demonstrated a long-term sustainable land-use by inhabitants of a large settlement occupied during the second half of the fourth millennium BC. The Middle Neolithic society established a settlement that covered an area of about 30–35 ha and functioned during at least three centuries, as validated by the absolute chronology. A thorough analysis based on the fuzzy-logic principle combined with archaeobotanical and archaeozoological data showed that the subsistence model was based on agricultural practices, related with both crop cultivation and animal husbandry, together with an important component of hunting, fishing and gathering. Ecological requirements of plants and animals represented by fossil remains suggested that the exploited area included a variety of habitats. In the open landscape, wet and dry grasslands, used partly as pastures, cultivated fields and marshes were present. Wooded areas included deciduous lime-oak-elm forests, also of open canopy type, and riparian forests. This was due to the transitional location of the Mozgawa site on a loess-mantled hill, covered with fertile soils, but right on the border with a vast alluvial plain of the Nida River. Such ecologically diversified micro-region became a managed landscape, which provided rich resources for seasonal diets of the settlement’s inhabitants. The case study of the Mozgawa site offers a unique insight into the palaeoeconomy of the Funnel Beaker culture in central Europe.

Dług publiczny stwarza obecnie (2018 r.) wiele istotnych problemów w finansach Polski. Obejmują one: nadmierny poziom zadłużenia, a zwłaszcza zadłużenia zagranicznego (wg rezydencji), wysoki poziom rentowności długu (wskutek niskiego ratingu), znaczny deficyt sektora finansów publicznych, a zwłaszcza rządu centralnego, oraz pozostawanie poza strefą euro. Sytuacja ta ma wiele negatywów: permanentne napięcie w finansach publicznych, ograniczenie pola manewru w budżecie państwa oraz niedostateczny poziom oszczędności krajowych. Konieczne są działania na rzecz usunięcia tych negatywów; w obszarze długu publicznego dotyczy to m.in.: modernizacji zarządzania i strategii długu. Podstawowe kierunki poprawy stanu zadłużenia muszą obejmować: • opracowanie średnio- i długofalowej strategii długu nakierowanej na (m.in.) podniesienie ratingu o dwa stopnie i obniżającej trwale relację koszty obsługi/PKB poniżej 1,5%; docelowo osiągnięcie co najmniej trzeciego poziomu (w S&P) i kosztów nieprzekraczających 0,5% PKB; realizacja strategii musi być monitorowana, a odstępstwa korygowane, • nowelizację ustawodawstwa dot. długu publicznego w kierunku stałej, trwałej poprawy sytuacji, z uwzględnieniem wymogów paktu fiskalnego, • konsekwentne wywiązywanie się z wymogów procedury nadmiernego deficytu oraz rekomendacji KE w przypadku przekroczenia poziomów deficytu i długu (3% i 60%), • działania na rzecz wysokiej dynamiki: wzrostu ekonomicznego i inwestycji zagranicznych oraz możliwie najszybsze przystąpienie do strefy euro, • usunięcie zagrożeń wiążących się z praworządnością i poprawę pozycji w rankingu korupcyjności; ponadto konstruktywne współdziałanie z instytucjami międzynarodowymi, a przede wszystkim organami UE, zgodnie z duchem i literą prawa.
Public debt creates currently (2018 year) many important problems for the public finance of Poland. They comprise: excessive debt level, especially foreign debt (residents), high level of profitability of the debt (because of low rating), significant level of the deficit of public sector and lack of accession to EURO. Such a state of affairs produces many disadvantages: permanent tension in public finance, confinement of the area of activity within state budget and insufficient level of national savings. It is necessary to eliminate these effects; in the area of public debt modernization of debt management and strategy is needed. Improvements regarding the issue of the debt need to be as follows: • development of the middle- and long-term debt strategy directed at improvement of rating by at least two levels and stable decreasing of the relation between costs of debt and GDP (below 1,5%); finally – achievement of at least the third level (S&P) and servicing costs below 0,5% GDP; the strategy has to be under constant monitoring and necessary corrections should be done, • amendment to the law concerning the public debt directed at stable improvement of a situation, taking into account the fiscal pact, • consistent implementation of requirements of the excessive deficit procedure and recommendation of UE Commission in case of exceeding the limits of deficit and debt (3% and 60%), • implementation of a strategy of high dynamics of: economic growth and foreign investments and the quickest access to EURO countries, • elimination of a risk concerning breaking the rules of law and improvement of the position as far as the corruption ranking is concerned; moreover – constructive cooperation with international institutions, especially with units of EU, consistent with the spirit and rules of law.

The castle at Łowicz was built in a town being the centre of archbishops’ estates which made part of the archbishops endowment as early as 1136. The development of the town and the settlement in its neighbourhood resulted from activities of successive ordinaries: Jakub Świnka, Janisław and Jarosław Bogoria Skotnicki. In consequence of the economic policy of the archbishops followed around the town, which was chartered before 1298 or even ca. 1286, in 1359 the archbishop’ estates near Łowicz had already 114 places of settlement, and by the early sixteenth century the number grew to almost 130. The castle at Łowicz was one of five castles belonging to Gniezno archbishops, for they had strongholds at Uniejów, Opatówek, and Kamień Krajeński, and in the fifteenth century bought a castle at Wenecja near Żnin. We do not know when exactly the construction of the castle complex was finished, but it appears as a castrum in a document from 1359. The year of 1355 referred to in the scholarly and popular science literature on the subject does not find confirmation in sources. Most probably, the complex was a genetic continuation of the archbishops’ mansio mentioned in 1242 and domus referred to in 1339. The dimension of the first one, square in plan, were 33×34×31×31 m. In time, the castle was extended. In the early sixteenth century it was made of two parts: the upper castle (arx superior), combining representative and residential functions, and the lower castle which probably developed out of the outer ward (castrum inferior), and was serving as the auxiliary service area. Apart from the castle at Uniejów, Łowicz castle was most important for the archbishops. The administration of the Łowicz estates did not lie solely in the hands of the castle officials, who in large part only executed decisions made by the archbishop and the Gniezno Chapter. The archbishop cooperated with the Chapter which influenced decisions of the ordinary and supervised his actions towards the so-called table lands (Polish: dobra stołowe, Latin: mensa archiepiscopalis). The participation of the Chapter members in the administration of the archbishops’ estates was most important during the periods of vacancy in the archiepiscopal see. At such times, canons took over the management of individual demesnes, thus becoming administrative officials. This prerogative is presumably of an old origin; and although the first references to it date to the 1380s, it is well evidenced as late as in the fifteenth century. One crucial aspect of the relationship between archbishops and the Chapter was the practice of entrusting the management over the castles to the lay administration. From time to time the Chapter had to remind that the ordinary should hand over the strongholds and demesnes only to ecclesiastics. This sparked off disputes between the canons and archbishops, such as one of the most heated under Archbishop Władysław of Oporów in the mid-fifteenth century. It was probably at that time that the administrative dualism developed, and both the members of the Cathedral Chapter and the laypersons designated by the archbishops were appointed to the offices of Łowicz starosta (and occasionally also of Uniejów – but this requires further study). The first post was known as principal starosta (capitaneus principalis), the latter simply as starosta (capitaneus). It seems that the management system in the fourteenth century differed from that of the fifteenth and sixteenth century.
